Kotaku.com hints at remaining DC line-up!

Kotaku.com has posted a small article on the upcoming MK vs DC Universe. In this article they drop a small list of clues towards the possible remaining characters on the DC line-up.

We only know the rest of the line-up through vague descriptions from a separate source, such as Prototypical Super Hero, Mystical Super Hero, Amazon Queen, Sexy Villainness, Crazy Villain, and Military Superhero. Many of those aren't hard to figure out, but series creator Ed Boon says the full line-up has yet to be correctly guessed by fans.

While some clues seem rather obvious, others leave much to discuss. Either way Ed Boon and the rest of the MK team are not always so predictable in their roster selections. We will be keeping you updated as more information becomes available. To view the article, simply click here.

It does scream Catwoman though, which is great.

But grrrrr! I wish they added more, one which could have defined Ms. Ivy.

Hope she is in the game somewhat or somewhere though!

Hmm.. It appears, despite it being unlikely, that Queve just MIGHT get his wish after all. lol, I know who he's hoping for that tag to mean.

Catwoman is an equally good guess as well... and probably has the better chance of making it in. Guess we'll find out in the weeks to come.

I have to doubt the validity of this news article due the fact that Kotaku seems to be on the low-end of "in-the-know" news blogs. Most of the stuff they just seem to make up and this is no exception.

One of those has to be Green Lantern. Either the Prototypical hero or the military hero (as Hal Jordan is a pilot in the military).

Mystical superhero could be Zatanna.

The Military superhero could also be Captain Atom.

Hmm, My guess at the Mystical hero would be Dr. Fate.

Military? Yeah I'd have to agree with the majority. That's either one of two GL's (Hal or John).

Prototypical Super Hero = Superman. Pretty obvious.

Speedster = The Flash. Also a no brainer.

Mystical Super Hero = Dr. Fate? Captain Marvel?

Amazon Queen = Hyppolyta? I have a strong feeling this was supposed to hint at Wonder Woman but mixed up the queen/princess thing.

Sexy Villainness = Too many to list. No idea who it could be.

Archvillain = eh?

Epic Villain = eh? Maybe Darkseid?

Crazy Villain = The Joker?

Masked Vigilante = Batman. Easy.

Military Superhero = Captain Atom? Hal Jordan? Jon Stewart isn't a military man in the comics. That was a Bruce Timm change.

The rest of what? They're just guesses with the exceptions of the obvious ones like "speedster."

Hal Jordan is a military test pilot. And Jon Stewart was only in the military as far as Bruce Timm's universe is concerned.

Epic Villain- Darkseid, I suppose. Hmm, if he's playable, I wonder if that means Shao Kahn may be playable on MK's side. And if that's the case, I wonder who the boss is going to be....unless the make like Quan Chi & Shang Tsung in MK:DA.

Hey, personally I like Kyle Rayner the most. But Hal is easily more classic so it'll probably him. Honestly, I think I like both Kyle and Guy over Hal. At least if Guy is there you'd get one hell of a Fatality:

And I'm a bit concerned over all the love for Catwoman and Poison Ivy. One or the other, I guess. But I figure it seems like every time people come up with a list of 10 or so characters to put in half the cast ends up being filled by Batman rogues. Superman and The Flash have great rogue galleries too. No love for Brainiac or Gorilla Grodd? Not to mention, guys like Sinestro or Black Adam would make more sense than Poison Ivy. Besides, Catwoman isn't exactly a villainess. She's a crook but not a villain. So I doubt that clue really hints at her.

I'm making a strong assumption here but hear me out. If you count out all the MK characters, you find there are about 13 females in the cast among all the games. That's counting more abstract characters like Khameleon as well. In total, you find that the MK cast is about 20% female. If we assume that the cast of MK vs. DC will have the same relative ratio, you're talking about 5 or 6 females. We pretty much know Wonder Woman is in and there are strong rumors that Power Girl is in. Personally, out of the remaining 3 or 4 slots, I'd prefer Zatanna fill one. I suppose it's not absurd to think that Catwoman and Poison Ivy could fill two slots but I'm not sure I'd want that.
