Im Injusticefan14 on twitter (The guy who posted the scans) Aquaman was confirmed in the Magazine and by the sounds of things, Ares looks like hes going to be a playable character in Injustice

With all of these characters getting confirmed, it's beginning to look like Gorilla Grodd will get skipped over again like he did in MKvsDC but fingers crossed that he'll be DLC.

I hope he does make it in for your sake. Would be nice to have all of MKO's favorites make it in at some point. Even if DLC, I would hope for nothing but the majority of you to get the character you've aimed for, if you haven't already.
Martian Manhunter has been teased, so it's apparent he will be in. However I hope not as DLC. One of the main reasons, and not the only reason of course. But the main reasons I'm buying the CE was to support this game to its fullest, and in hopes that MM would be on the Initial roster and not DLC. Lord I hope not, that would kill me inside. I've done my best to be patient with all that's been released. I can wait a great deal, but with all the talk of the characters in these magazines and what not. It seems more and more UN-likely that he will be apart of the main roster. I do honestly hope I'm wrong and it's just being postponed to the next unveiling.

^ I think Martian Manhunter will make it. Then all of the Founding Justice league members will be in. Zatanna was hinted at a few days ago and i really want Black Canary aswell but she hasn;t been hinted at :(

Yea bro, but If you think of all the characters Announced. Grundy of all Major characters wasn't really Over Popular at any point. If you think about it he hasn't been used for anything "Major" except for BAC. And he's apart of the new 52, as well as MM who also got a new look. So if this is boons way of building hype to unveil him knowing he hasn't even been in any other game except Justice League Heroes on PS2. It's working. I'm already more then excited. Think winning the lottery excitement. That's where I'm at. lol, somehow I always seem to rant or Over-exaggerate. That's just my inner fanboy I guess.

I still think they might be setting themselves up for a fan-lashing with all this talk about obscure characters, but the claim is there. They'd be doing themselves out of some pretty glorious visuals if they didn't have a giant snarling telepathic gorilla in the mix.

Even though Black Adam was mentioned along with Captain Marvel, that gnawing feeling that what if him and Captain are just the proverbial cameo appearances that aren't playable that Ed mentioned, or that Cap will make it and Black Adam will be just a secondary costume for him.

Oh, man. I hope he makes it in.

I wouldn't reccommend anybody getting their hopes up too much. You never know who is going to make it...they don't always choose who you expect. Especially with SO many people to choose from. Not everybody's favorites will make it. Just ask Rain fans when it came to MK9.

Point being, we don't know who they will choose or why, because we don't know the story at play. They are wanting to offer a good story, and with that, you can't just plug someone in because they have fans. Every character has fans to some extent. Some people may not see Penguin as someone they want in, but there's a lot of other people out there that would love for him to be included. That's just it, they KNOW they have a tough choice to make. They need to balance popularity(who will sell the game), fun factor(who fits in a fighting game or is fun to use), and purpose(serves an actual part in the story) for these characters.

It's not as simple as "Martian Manhunter has a decent amount of fans, lets put him in". They need to pick 24 characters out of over two hundred. They also likely need it approved by DC. So if DC doesn't want their character in the game for whatever reason, they won't be in it. It's also possible the team doesn't like the character for some odd reason. Or the character just doesn't fit the story at all(thus better suited for DLC). Or the character isn't THAT needed right off the bat, or they just don't quite make the cut compared to another character that would be better suited in the main roster based on popularity, fun factor, or purpose.

I'm not saying the characters you want won't make it, I have no idea. lol I am just saying, you have to look at this rationally, that they obviously aren't you, and while you may love a certain character, that character just might not be what they are looking for, on the main roster, DLC, or for their first game(they want this to be a series, thus, not every character will make it in the first enstallment).

Look up top 100 DC character lists on google...some of the characters you love, don't even make some people's personal lists. That's how many people there are. lol

So just keep that in mind. It's better to be surprised than disappointed.

I was truly happy for you when Ed Boon hinted at Martian Manhunter because I knew how much you wanted him in this game and I still believe that Martian Manhunter will be on the main roster because EVERYBODY wanted him in MK vs. DC but didn't get him, so I think that NRS knew that and he'll be officially confirmed very soon in a trailer with the others.

While I understand that Grodd is kind of a wacky character because he's a talking telepathic gorilla and some people think that's to cartoony for this game but I really think that he'd be perfect for this game and so far The Flash has no villains on the roster but we all know that Captain Cold has been hinted at and Captain Cold was in the debut trailer, if Grodd doesn't make it to the main roster but he's DLC, then I'll be fine with that just as long as he's in the game. I really wanted Grodd in MK vs DC but he wasn't in so I was hoping for him as DLC and then there was no DLC and then I heard about Injustice so I started thinking here's another chance for Grodd.

I've seen a few people saying that having a fighting gorilla in Injustice would ruin this game but there have been alot of other fighting games that feature fighting animals like Kuma from Tekken, Lizardman from Soul Calibur and all the characters in Primal Rage.




I know this must be hard for NRS picking characters for Injustice but Grodd's potential for this game is really good because of his physical strength, ape-like dexterity and his mind controlling abilities. I had some much fun playing as Quan Chi in MK9 with his ability to mind control opponents and I know that NRS could improve on that if Grodd was in this game.




Like I said before it must be hard for NRS to pick characters for Injustice because there are tons of great DC characters but I think that Grodd would be pretty high on the list of characters that should be in this game or DLC.

I've had the sad feeling when your character didn't make the cut, for years I wanted Sektor to be in more MK game and then when I saw Cyrax in Deadly Alliance, I just knew that Sektor would also be in the game and he wasn't but although he was in Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition. Same thing with MK9, I was upset because Rain, Chameleon and Khameleon didn't make the cut then Rain was DLC and I was so happy because he made it.

I could see Grodd not making the main roster but being DLC later on with Lobo and Killer Croc.

You are correct, and I highly agree with you. However...

MKVSDCU was the game where the most Iconic characters were brought together. This is now Injustice, still Iconic in the sense that we got characters to help sell the game and that most people are familiar with. But most characters that have been announced are all popularized by certain comic arcs, tie-ins, game appearances, televised appearences etc. All the characters up till this point have been in something more or less recent. And for all I know, MM could be in the game already, as well as he should. This game already has almost the entire Justice League at hand. It would be odd, and offbeat to leave out the most (in my eyes) important one who watches over everything and is the most respected out of the group. He's not like anyone else, he does share similar abilities as opposed to Superman. But he's so much more different in the respects that he can gradually do a ton more. I've read comics where he's regenerated himself from just his arm alone. Not to mention that he is a superior Telepath. He can shapeshift. Render himself Invisible and go through objects like a ghost. There's so much more differences then similarities compared to superman that it screams cool factor.

I'm not arguing anything invalid at this point. However, the roster is getting shorter, we have a little less then 3 /12 months left till release. And quite honestly there's a lot of character related material being thrown around. MM, Aquaman, Ares recently, Penguin. It's really hard to justify what's honestly going to make it into the final build as opposed to characters. I know I speak for everyone when I say I'm not alone on the I wish this character would make the cut routine. I'm merely saying I'm trying to be the most vocal. I don't want to annoy anyone with my MM pestering. I know I go to far lengths to make it known what I'm here day and night for. And all of you know as well. I'm grateful for everything and everybody who's stuck with me and puts up with my constant ranting.

But if anyone knows me well, I don't ask for 20,000 different things from these boards to be in games. MK9 it was Stryker, after that I was grateful and never once asked for anything else. This game it's Martian Manhunter. I don't consider myself being spoiled or greedy. It's 1 thing out of 30 that I look forward to and should very well be taken seriously by the team at NRS and put into the game.

Martian Manhunter is Integral part of that Justice League team. And to have all the original members Superman, WW, Flash, GL, Batman, Aquaman, And of course the Green Giant, lol left out. Would be a crushing blow. But in all seriousness, The roster isn't finished I know this, you and others are aware of this. I just think it would be another blow to him if all he was, was DLC. That's like saying he's not good enough to be apart of any MAIN EVENT in the comic world and games. He's a founding JLA Member and should have his spot along side the rest of the original JL cast set to be in this game. Outside Aquaman obviously, no one else is more deserving of that spot then him.

I'm just a very vocal person who believes strongly in the will to keep things alive where as others seem to forget. I know it's fanboy-ish to keep repeating myself on this subject, but sometimes it's the passion that wins over the obscurity.


I could see Grodd being a very versatile and powerful fun character to use. After playing the KING KONG movie game in the past. I could see how having someone like him playable in a fighting game would be fun. I won't lie, King Kong made me feel like a beast going around and rampaging through skull island. Grodd should definitely not be overlooked!

Getting worried for my boy Blue Beetle. Aquaman will be my main if he's not in.

And Shazam fans... don't worry. He's in. I'll eat me my own shoe if he's not.

I wld have liked for Swamp Thing to be included, but I doubt he will. Prob. wldnt belong in the story, and he's not someone that most people jump out to go buy a game for. Maybe DLC, wld be cool, but they'll prob go with others instead.

As for the roster, of course its complete. Its 3 months away. Not all characters may be polished completely, but the story was decided on as well as the roster it entails, right off the bat. So any campaigning for the main roster at this point is too late.

DLC...now that's another story.

Your welcome MINION, I'm a giant fanboy for Gorilla Grodd (if you couldn't tell lol) but I also enjoyed playing King Kong and I know that Gorilla Grodd could have that same feel in Injustice.

The more I think about it, I can see Grodd ending up as DLC with the likes of Lobo, Killer Croc, Doctor Fate, Black Canary, Blue Beetle and Hawkgirl.

I don't read comics, but I have a huge respect for the character. For me, a lot of the mainstream DC heroes are a bit boring until you get passed the surface. Aquaman's sort of humor-driven reputation works in his favor if you ask me. Cool on the inside; troll on the outside.

Raven and Shazam have been revealed via Xbox magazine now, so it's about time to accept that not all the hinted characters are gonna make it. There's always DLC, but that's not a comfort. I don't want to just start learning my main in freakin' July.

Nightwing's in,i'm happy about that.But i'm going to hope that beastboy makes it in.Not that i'm a big fan of the character,but i know he has fans,and i know he'd be really really interesting to play as(Like Martian Manhunter :).Anyway let's just hope that this game is at least just a little better than MK(9).Quick thought:Anyone else worried about getting pulverized while getting used to holding back to block? I honestly cannot block on MVC3 (No not UMVC3 EITHER :{ ).Anyway i hope you all at least get one of your favorites in the game as playable.Good luck.

I don't know much about Beastboy beyond that he's part of the Teen Titans, but I would bet four-digit sums of money that he's not in. I think even as far as DLC goes, Beastboy is a long shot.

I'm starting to feel the same way about Swamp Thing. Perhaps we were a little naive to think he'd be part of the main roster. That said, the vocal cry for Swamp Thing has been astounding. His fans really worked overtime to let NRS know there's a demand for him. He's right beneath Lobo as my vote for "most likely to be DLC."

Not much knowledge on Lobo and Swamp Thing,much they are very well liked characters from what i have gathered.But i would like them to get into the game as dlc.

I just wanted to mention that Geoff Johns damning tweet about Aquaman in the game has since been deleted from his feed. Hmm.

Probably because WB gave him the heads up "They don't actually know that Aquaman is confirmed/playable" yet. Just because a magazine hints at him or mentions him, doesn't mean he's a guerantee. Some fan asked him, he assumed the fans probably knew and it was announced, and in the end...obviously he wasn't suppose to say anything. Oops. lol
