Scorpion Battles the White Ranger in Live-Action Fan Vote!

Everybody's favourite ninja from Hell is set to star in the next instalment of live-action web series: Super Power Beat Down! The Machinima affiliate show pits super powered pop culture icons against one another in a fan debated arena.

Hosted by Marisha Ray, the web show packs its real punch with live-action performances of the super powered battles. Scorpion will find himself going toe-to-toe with a less common fantasy fight adversary in the form of the original White Ranger! SPBD have released previews of the Mortal Kombat and Power Rangers adversaries via their production Facebook:

Fans can vote to influence the outcome by visiting the Super Power Beat Down website. Voting for Scorpion v White Ranger ends September 1st!

Scorpion reached the Semi Finals of this year's Mortal Kombat Online Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion tournament. He was pipped at the post by controversial eventual winner Smoke.

For a taste of the type of quality you can expect, check out the live-action battle from Episode 3 of the series: Injustice: Gods Among Us hero and soon-to-be-Affleck Batman taking on Marvel's movie berzerker Wolverine.

They went all out for the Ranger suit, which is actually improved over the real suit, with added armor; while the Scorpion mask looks.. pretty shitty, Tom!

Well being a 90's kid I grew up on Power Rangers and Mortal Kombat so this is one of my childhood dream matches and I would say that Scorpion would lose this fight for the main fact that if the White Ranger was starting to loss in the fight, he would call upon the Tigerzord and I don't see Scorpion beating the Tigerzord!

Fun Fact:

Jason David Frank was born in Los Angeles, Ca. He went to Bonita High School. Jason first got interested in Martial Arts when he was young, and at the age of 4, got into his first Karate School. It was called The Red Dragon Karate School.

Actually he does.

He's been promoting it for the last four days or so.

I'm a member of his fan club and I frequently obtain news and whatnot, mainly from the Facebook page, but I get emails to. There's no confirmation as to whether or not it's him in the suit - probably not - but he sure is getting those votes out there.

In any case, screw Scorpion! lol

Oh man, these were my two favorite franchises when I was 10 years old. I used to live and breathe MK and Power Rangers. But, Mortal Kombat always had the edge, and it did stand the test of time.

But this is gonna be so awesome. The 10 year old me is flipping out with excitement right now.

I completely agree that White Ranger is in a league all of his own in the costume department. But my feeling is that classic white ranger has not changed much over 20 years. Scorpion's constantly does, and with the almost reptilian texture of the leather hood I am betting faux gold plastic pieces would be rather disruptive to the design. As moderate as the Scorpion design is, my feeling would be they would have been better off copying the UMK3 or MKII design. It could look outlandish, would have been acceptable on the lack of detail and would have been era appropriate.

Actually Scorpion changes almost too much, other than the "who let the angry out?" mode he is always in, he flip flops on accepting Sub-Zero, hating him, joining the side of good, wanting to rip the realms apart. But what I really mean is parts if not all of white ranger's costume have probably been commercially available for a very long time.

I would love to see White Ranger win. With all the Scorpion 'fanboys' out on the internet though, it's doubtful.

White Ranger all the way, though. PR as a kid growing up was the theme at every one of my birthday parties. Fuck clowns and balloons, gimme the Power Rangers son.

I used to watch PR as a kid. It was okay but why is this even a fight? I mean really, they couldn't find a better opponent than a PR?
