I have no intention of getting a DS (some controls make me look like an idiot) or a PSP (practically no battery life and annoying controls), i already have a GBA. but are the gameboy versions of Mortal Kombat any good?

Check out MK: Tournament Edition and Deadly Alliance, which are both very good. Some say to stay away from Mortal Kombat Advance, but I found it to be an ok game. Good luck finding these games though, cause they're all very rare, and EB Games, and likely Gamestop don't carry them that often, so you might have to "suck it up" and get a DS or PSP if you want some portable MK action

Duuude stay away from MK Advance. It is UMK3 with bad graphics, excremental controls, and titanic difficulty.

MK DA and MK Tournament Edition (wich is just an expansion of DA) are pretty good. I recommend those two.
But if you care about the sake of your game boy, don't penetrate it with a MK Advance cartdridge.

I've got Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition and I love it. I highly recommend it. Then again, that's the only GBA game that i have aside from old Pokemons.

Its a good game to have on the go.

Mortal Kombat Unchained for PSP is, I think, best graphic and gameplay portable mk ever. Its like MK Deception with more Characters! (with CF and CWCheat you could even play unplayables) You could also play Midway Arcade Treasures: Extend Play that includes MK1 MK2 MK3 Arcade Versions and with official PSX Emulator MK 4, MK Trilogy, MK Special Forces and MK Mythology are portable ones.

Dude you've got to get a DS, and get UMK DS. It is an awesome game, that has puzzle kombat (also an awesome game). They both have online play (which is freakin' uber cool), at no cost whatsoever. Plus u dont have to use the pen for that game if u dont want to . So just get a DS or PSP, because UMK an MK Unchanined, are some fuckin' awesome games. You cant find any pocket MK experiace like that for the GBA.

I would say get MK Tournament Edition,

i would say buy a megadrive and just wait till you get home to play mk you'll enjoy it more
