Hello. This is my first fan submission forum post. Exciting smile

This is a biography I wrote, from Shao Kahn's perspective.

Hope you like it.

In my early life, I served as an advisor to the then-emperor of Outworld. I was the second highest ranking citizen is all of Outworld. The Dragon King had treated me like dirt. I was his servant, not his advisor. His empire had become the most powerful in all the realms. It was then I decided that this empire would be mine.

Onaga, the Dragon King, had begun searching for a way to become immortal, and live as supreme ruler for all of eternity. I knew that if I did not strike soon, I would have no further chances. I poisoned the Onaga. He was no longer the ruler of Outworld. A new era had begun. The empire of Outworld would soon bow down to their new ruler, Shao Kahn!

In my early years as Emperor of Outworld, I began to grow a lust for power. I needed more to my empire than just Outworld. I began to set my sights on Edenia. I sent my greatest warriors to do battle with the mightiest fighters of Edenia. After 10 consecutive victories in the Mortal Kombat tournament, I successfully invaded the realm.

On the battlefield, I killed the Edenian King, Jerrod. I then married his widowed wife, Queen Sindel. She would rule beside me as my queen. I then raised Sindel’s daughter, Princess Kitana as my own. I soon had my step-daughter trained as my own personal bodyguard and assassin. Even after all I had done for my wife, Sindel; she still felt the need to take her own life. Outraged, I held her soul in Outworld. She will never ascend to the afterlife as long as I can help it.

Many years later, I decided it was time to extend my empire once again. I soon decided that the realm of Earth would be my next objective. I sent one of my head sorcerers known as Shang Tsung to win the Mortal Kombat tournament in Earthrealm so that I could send me troupes and invade Earthrealm with relative ease. I eventually sent the Shokan prince Goro to assist Shang Tsung in his mission.

For several centuries, I thought I had placed my trust in the right hands. Prince Goro defeated the Earth’s champion of Mortal Kombat, the Great Kung Lao. After this, he won 9 consecutive tournaments. I began preparing my troupes for my invasion of Earthrealm, as I believed Prince Goro would win another victory for my Outworld forces. I was wrong.

Goro was defeated in battle to the Shaolin monk, Liu Kang. Shang Tsung soon followed. I had wasted five hundred years of my precious time in this tournament. Shang Tsung would pay. Shang Tsung begged me for his life. I was not exactly sympathetic. However, Tsung proposed a new strategy. He suggested that we lure the Earthrealm warriors to Outworld for a second Mortal Kombat tournament. I then spared Shang Tsung’s life and restored his youth. I swore to myself it would be his final chance.

I sent my troupes to capture the Earthrealm warriors Sonya Blade, an Earthrealm Special Forces agent, and Kano of the Black Dragon clan. I then tested Liu Kang’s temper by sending one of my highest ranking officials, Baraka and his Tarkatan horde to destroy the Earthrealm Wu Shi Academy, a place of peace and harmony for the Earthrealm warriors.

Liu Kang fell for my trap, and he and several other Earthrealm warriors came to Outworld to defend their realm once more. Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung, and soon after, a Shokan half tiger challenged Liu Kang to Mortal Kombat. Kintaro was then the supreme commander of my army, and was second in command only to myself.

Kintaro was eventually defeated. Now it became I who was trying to defend myself. I challenged Liu Kang to Mortal Kombat. After much intense fighting, fuelled by desperation to defend realms and pride, Liu Kang emerged victorious. He had saved his entire pathetic realm. I would not go down without a fight, however. Soon after my downfall, I called for my armies to destroy the Earthrealm warriors. The warriors fled back to Earthrealm. They were safe, for now.

I would soon have my revenge. My sorcerer, Shang Tsung was soon able to resurrect my long dead queen, Sindel. She was revived in Earthrealm and I was able to step across boarder lines of the realms to claim her. I seized this opportunity to send a full-blown operation destroy the Earthrealm warriors and merge their realm with Outworld.

My armies succeeded in driving the Earthrealm warriors into retreating. I was thereby free to start merging their realm with my own. I took the souls of almost ever living being in Earthrealm, and I claimed them as my own. My day finally seemed to have arrived. I soon learned that Lord Raiden had saved a handful of souls of the most skilled warriors of Earthrealm, including my most hated enemy, Liu Kang. Raiden had given them the task to bring to an end to me and my forces.

I sent extermination squads to hunt down and kill the remaining survivors of the realm. It seemed as though victory was at hand. I was soon confronted by a close friend of Liu Kang, Kung Lao. He was the descendant of the man who has been killed by the Shokan prince Goro hundreds of years ago. I crushed Kung Lao and watched him suffer. I thought I was unstoppable.

I was soon confronted by my arch nemesis, Liu Kang. I was determined this time to take revenge of Liu Kang after my embarrassing defeat at his hands several years earlier. But I was not determined enough. I was once again defeated by the Shaolin monk, after a long and tiring battle that almost saw me as the victor. As I was critically wounded and exhausted after our battle, I felt I could no longer carry on with my invasion of their realm. The Shaolin monks and their God of Thunder had won another war.

For several years during the aftermath of this great invasion, I was greatly weakened. I began loosing my army and ultimately, began losing my empire. I was fully aware of the fallen Elder God Shinnok’s war with the gods. Nevertheless, I remained inactive during this war in hope of rebuilding my empire while my enemies were distracted.

Kitana and her Edenian citizens eventually made peace with the Shokan, the race of which I had always heavily relied on. A few years later, the Shokan were well prepared to invade my own realm of Outworld. The very realm they had fought with for so many years.

I soon acquired a new general, the same Earthrealm man I had imprisoned years earlier to lure the people of Earthrealm to Outworld, Kano. It was only through his skill and cunning, and the stealth of my unreliable assassin Noob Saibot, that I would be able to make a come-back and force Kitana and her Edenian armies into a draw. During this time, I had had my revenge of the traitor Shokan prince Goro, who had been critically wounded by my assassin Noob Saibot.

Soon after this time, the two sorcerers, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, who had formed a “Deadly Alliance”, approached a clone of me, who was sitting in my throne. In a false show of allegiance, they attacked my clone and killed it. Thinking it was the true me, they would then travel to Earthrealm through a mystical portal and kill my nemesis Liu Kang. They then proceeded in an attempt to take over Outworld. Thinking they had killed its true ruler.

Meanwhile, I approached my former ally, the Shokan prince Goro. And I asked for his loyalty once more. Using what little strength I had left after my downfalls, I revived prince Goro to his healthy state. I had gained the Shokans as allies once more.

Soon after this, the former ruler of Outworld, the Dragon King, Onaga, returned from beyond the grave. The fool Shujinko lead himself to believe that he was being asked by the Elder Gods to gather the six kamidogu for them and that he was the champion of the Elder Gods, when it was really Onaga, using a hologram of his consciousness to deceive Shujinko into gathering the Kamidogu for him.

Onaga returned to power in Outworld, as I regained my strength. The Deadly Alliance, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi were killed by the Thunder God Raiden in his sacrificial blast in an attempt to destroy Onaga. Onaga begun to shape the realms as he saw fit.

His reign of power, however, was ended by the very man who helped start it, Shujinko. Onaga had given him the power to absorb every warrior’s fighting ability, and with this ability, Shujinko shattered the six kamidogu, rendering Onaga vulnerable. He then cast the Dragon King into the deepest pits of the Netherealm, where he would be forced to stay as intense evil had been released by Nightwolf upon the Dragon King, holding him down in the Netherealm.

Mileena, the woman Shang Tsung had created many years earlier to act as he was the beautiful Edenian princess Kitana, had taken control of my fortress in Outworld. She was the temporary ruler of Outworld. I had regained my strength over the years, however and I was ready to take back what was rightfully mine,

The spirit of the sorcerer Shang Tsung soon appeared before me. His ghostly state startled me at first, but I soon realised what had taken place. Many, many centuries ago, Shang Tsung had pledged his loyalty to me. Evidently, this promise was obligatory even past death, I had need of the sorcerer. I soon gave him a host body and used the souls of the people I had slain in Li Mei’s village to revive him.

Soon we were ready to take on Mileena and her guards at my fortress. Invading my own stronghold, Shang Tsung, Goro and I stormed through the fortress, laying waste to all who stood in our way. Using Shang Tsung’s magic and myself and Goro’s brute strength, we were virtually unstoppable. We crushed every last being who defended the stronghold.

We gradually made our way to the throne room. The door had been reinforced by a magical spell of which had been cast by one of Mileena’s mages. It was no match for the combined might of me, Shang Tsung and Goro. Shang Tsung weakened the magical force field, and with a final thrust of my wrath hammer, the door was smashed open.

As I approached Mileena, two mages stood between me and her. The Tarkatan beauty stabbed the mages from behind. Then, unveiling her mask, pledged her loyalty. "Welcome home, my master." Mileena spoke to me, in her softest voice. I accepted her surrender, and with that, became emperor of Outworld once more.

Soon after, I was approached by Shang Tsung, Quan Chi and Onaga, who had escaped from the Netherealm, with help from Shinnok. Quan Chi proposed an alliance. He spoke of the fire spawn Blaze, and how the brothers Taven and Daegon, sons of Argus, were supposed to defeat him, and with that victory, obtain god-like power. Onaga was reluctant at first, but after I convinced him it was the only way to defeat Blaze, he accepted the alliance offer. And with that, and uneasy alliance was formed between the four of us.

We then travelled through a portal to the Edenian crater of which Blaze would be found. But only one of us could obtain the god-like powers. It would be me!

To be continued...

He's my favourite. He wasn't always though... but he has been for a little while now.

But if you like Shao Kahn, check out my clan, "Shao Kahn's Assassins".

The link is in my signature settings.

But here it is again lol:

There probably won't be a continuation for a while as I have included everything here from pre-MK1 to MK:A. But when MK:8 comes out (if Shao Kahn has a part in it), I will definitely add to the bio.

Yeah, Shao Kahn is one of my favourite characters. Also, I have way to much time on my hands.

So the equation is:
Love of Shao Kahn + Too much time on my hands = This thread.

Lol.

Lol.

Bumping your own thread, even with a different account, is still bumping; please don't make additional accounts, especially to bump threads.
Anyway, I have to say that I do see some potential in your work, but the thing is, once you started talking about MK1, it became too... Familiar. The thing is, you could have broken some new ground about Shao Kahn, and mentioned things that the MK team did not, and made it your own story. It felt too much like a review of what Shao Kahn did throughout MK, and that's it. Everything you wrote was basically related to all of his biographies in the series, it just wasn't interesting. You could have gone into more detail with some of the things that Shao Kahn did while he wasn't involved with the war with Shinnok, or expanded on the whole clone idea, or maybe got some of the other characters involved with his story, like Rain, or Mileena, or Reptile, or anyone aside from Shang Tsung.
I'm sure you can do better next time, and I hope that your continuation of this has more of your own creativity put it.

Sorry if this is seen as a "bump", but I only now realised I never replied to this.

Thanks for the feedback.

I tried to focus as much on the things that have been confirmed to be canon as possible. I didn't want to go and make up some stuff that could be proven to be fake in the future. I wanted this to be as canon as possible, not some fairytale.

Every heard the old saying, "Quality rather than quantity"?

In other words, even though you have liked him for longer than I have, I like him to a greater extent.

and it was very nice, couldnt of made a better bio myself.

Thanks. I guess only the number 1 Shao Kahn fan could write something this good. tongue

And Shao Kahn should be your be all and end all, if you truly are his "#1 fan".
