I have never been more upset with Hollywood than at the moment.
First there was no special features added to the dvd or blu ray release and thats fine, but when you release a special edition of the movie with more mins, most companies have the respect of the consumer to release it at home than back in the theatre and still charge you the same price.
You know, I wouldn't mind this so much if it was going to cure cancer or help out a starving country, but its not.
Did you guys read james reason to releasing this again?
He said that other movies were stealing 3d screens for his movie and ppl didnt get a chance to see it.
OMG dude, the movie makes like a billion dollars and you are complaining? lol wow The movie wasn't omg great to start out with either. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not the best movie of all time which so many ppl are making it out to be.
I never seen avatar in the movie theatre to begin with and im not going to start not just cause its 8 mins longer and in 3D. I think most people would rather have the SE in 3D on dvd and or blu ray other then sitting through it again in the movie theatre.
Anyways, I know no one is making me see it but I can still voice my own opinion about him rereleasing it. Plus I know there will be some who love it and think its a awesome idea but to others who can see passed that and know its just to make more money for something that should have been added on the home release to begin with, I hope you can stay home and wait til its released on blu ray or whatever it is you view movies on.

BTW speaking of T2, why didn't he get them to rerelease that special edtion in the movie theatre? Hell, that movie was like 20-30 minutes longer than its normal run , even Aliens would have been cool to get rereleased with the amount of extra scenes or extented that they had in the special edition.

This irked me too. I mean Avatar is the highest grossing movie off all time now, it made well over 2 billion dollars in theaters alone (not counting dvd sales). No other movie has ever come close to making that much, and there are many more deserving movies. I wasn't even that fucking good, it was all based on a gay ass gimmick anyway. And the money grubbing bastards are releasing it in theaters AGAIN? Don't you have enough money? Oh that's right, this is Hollywood we're talking about. Fucking Avatards
James Cameron is officially a Jew.
James Cameron is officially a Jew.
It's because of the animation shit they did in the movie... Animation that I'm going to be studying down at my school...
Despite the fact that Avatar is the highest grossing movie ever, it didn't win as much Academy Awards like people thought it would.
I thought that the movie should have been in the animation catagory since 95% of the movie is basically animation...
I really hope I don't have to learn about this movie too much at school, I really don't want to talk about it. I'll be like the only person who hates it.

Haha!
Anyways, I was one of those people who intially saw Avatar for free on a computer and I loved it. But it was a long movie, so I wasn't going to run back into theatres just so I could see it in 3D. However, now that it's back for a limited run, I honestly can not wait to get out there and watch it in 3D.
Avatar, for me, was not the best movie of all time. However, I still thought it was a great movie, and not just because of its graphics. I'll never understand why so many people in the world, and especially on the internet, just like to sit back and shit on everything, instead of just letting people who enjoy things go out and enjoy them.
And argh at people in general. It's like, whenever anything reaches a 'generally liked' consensus, suddenly it is 'the most overrated piece of shit ever' and people have to try extra hard to hate on it, just because other people like it. I don't know. Argh.

Avatar was the WORST film of the last 25 years. James Cameron is fucking overrated.

Zentile , why reply to any of my threads all these years when you never have had anything productive to say to them? For whatever reason you never liked me and i could care less but I held this back for a while now but, GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU COCK SUCKING MOTHER FUCKER.

I just honestly don't see a point in re-releasing a movie back into theaters after it's gone to home disks. There just isn't a point to it IMO. Maybe as a commemorative experience like star wars when they remaster it, or I know a movie theater that did a short run of Boondock Saints for their anniversary. But simply re-releasing a special edition of a movie with added footage to theaters is pretty stupid IMO. That's what the disk versions are for. Adding extra content that you didn't want to put in the theater version.

I didn't see Avatar all the way through, but in the 40 minutes I saw (the beginning and climax pieced in that segment), I was not blown away. Is that a fair judgment of the film? No. Is that a fair judgment of the premise? I'd fucking say so.
Re-release Dirty Work. I want to see dead hookers in 3D.

Ok you make a good point, I should have developed my post more, I guess my point didn't really come across.
The only threads I ever see you make are ones complaining about something. Usually some huge corporation or business like you're the little man standing up to them. Man I just don't see any harm coming to you because Avatar's coming back to theatres. Really, what's the harm? If it fails, it fails. If it doesn't fail, they make more money and it's not like you lose money so what do you care?
If people want to watch a movie, why not let them? It's not even like it's an offensive movie or anything, I actually found it to be very relevant and I felt more people should have seen it. But that's just me. And a ton of other people including some guys in Hollywood who might know what they're doing.
From your initial post, what I understand your main complaint is, is that it doesn't have extra footage. What? Are you even reading your threads? What's wrong with that? Nobody is making you pay to see it, nobody's even making you see it for free. Just relax, man, sit down for a second, think about how some of these things aren't actually that bad to you and just mind your business and the things that do affect you.
Go spend hours calling Sony because they wont let you watch SAW V, that's almost reasonable considering the context. But what exactly is your problem with this Avatar thing? No offense but it feels like you just need to complain about SOMETHING, and this is the subject you stumbled upon.
I don't dislike you personally but I don't really agree with most of your posts, I guess. There's no need to call me names, I'm just saying maybe you should relax and make a thread about how something good happened to you, or something for a change.
PEACE OUT

I hate the general public. They gave us Avatar, Justin Bieber, Twilight, and Ke$ha.

CGI aside, I thought the film was overrated and a bit cliche. But there is no way you're implying that the nerd power-fantasy that is "Scott Pilgrim" is somehow more tasteful and refined than a film that actually tried to take stab at themes beyond allegorical video game references; sweet as they may be(the "Power of Self-Respect" sword particularly). "Avatar" in it's spectacle did attract a lot of people because of face value alone, but so did "Pilgrim". Really, to put a film like "Avatar" on par with Kesha is just silly.

Lol. I know, but I actually really don't like Avatar any more than the others I mentioned. It was basically Dances With Wolves meets Pocahontas... in space. The film wasn't bad (certainly not Ke$ha bad), but I was spoiled rotten by District 9 earlier that year. There was an original, brilliant, intelligent, and mature sci-fi movie made on a comparatively shoe-string budget.

Haha. You posted what I originally came into this thread to say.
District 9 did it better.

It's not that surprising that this movie would be re-released. I have the Blu-Ray disc at home, and I've only watched it once. I personally don't think it's good enough to want to watch in theaters, because I felt that aside from the visuals, the story was kind of lackluster.
Blah, Blah, Blah!

I guess James Cameron paid for most of the tickets for people so he wants his money back. I really didn't see the point in Avatar. All it did was make people think it was the movie of an anime on cartoon network.

Way too much sexual tension here...
No but seriously it's no suprise that they're doin' this I just figured they would've done somethin' like this years from now. I smell yet another $20 thing from kenner or hasbro..lol I actually seen the news article about this. I might go see it finally, though, since I haven't yet. I never had the time before

I wouldn't be as annoyed with this if it just waited a few more years. And it looks like the "8 Minutes of Never Before Seen Footage!" are just small little scenes showing off the technical aspect of the movie (which, in my opinion, was the ONLY impressive thing about the movie)
