Introducing Cassie Cage - Mortal Kombat X Loading Render

She represents the next generation of kombat - the daughter of Sonya Blade & Johnny Cage! We first met her during coverage of E3. Now get a closer look at the living sequel: Cassie Cage!

It seems Cassie has undergone some cosmetic changes since we last saw her in demo builds at E3. Of the new characters on show at the Expo, Cassie was the least prominent, absent from the explosive Sony Press Conference Trailer that kicked the show off. This suggests she may still be a work in progress, refining the right balance between the militancy of her mother, and the action hero style of her father.

The updates in this official render released by NetherRealm Studios certainly seems to capture the brash style of her father. A high undercut and bun are all the better to show-off her sunglasses (which she no doubt wears because her future is so bright).

Cassie Cage was absent from the first round of official screenshots, but can be seen in more detail in full E3 demo matches recorded by Gamespot! You can also take a similar closer look at new additions: D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr & Kotal Kahn!

Mortal Kombat X takes place over a 25 year time line; introducing a new generation of fighters on next gen consoles! MKX arrives in 2015, also available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & PC. Register to find more news and share your thoughts on the Mortal Kombat X forum!

Mortal Kombat FaceBook page revealed the render for Cassie

This resembles her current haircut at the game. In E3 one of the vids showed and older design for her.

what do u think ?

I think the new one is ugly. They really need to go back to the older one

I dunno, I like the new one better, hard to tell at that size but it seems a little more polished. And I prefer the accurate hair. Did she have the sunglasses in the old one? I like those too.

Of all the characters at E3, Cassie was obviously the least done. Her model had weird proportions, the texture on her face was too smooth, and she was missing a lot of sound clips.

Yeah TRMK mentioned that the team stated that they only recently changed her model (face + hair ?). I positive she will look better. I just like her original design better. I ma not a big fan of such hair styles.

I like the new one better...The shaved sides gives her a little bit more character and edge fitting for her personality.

I actually think it's not quite punk enough if that's what they're going for, you can barely see the shaved part at all.

I love the Aviators on her. And those bangs are badass. Hot! That was one of my favorite things from Sonya's (Lara Croft) alternate costume in MK9. That being said, I definitely prefer this look:

over this one:

I too am not a fan of that semi-shaved Punkish-style haircut, but, honestly, it looks so badass and it suits her really well. Its quite perfect for her. I would be PISSED if that was Sonya's haircut (ugh!), but, it really works on Cassie.

Though I like the original style better, she does remind me a lot of Sonya in that pic. It's almost like Sonya's MK1, MKDA and MKSF look. Maybe this was their way of "saving" Cassie from looking too much like the original Mamma Blade? It makes sense. We don't want Cassie to be a clone of Sonya. The original pic just screams SONYA. I think it could work as an alternate look for Cassie, and I hope its in the game.

I must say that love the fact that she is not wearing a pony-tail either, or that we haven't seen her do any kisses and leg grabs, etc. It helps Sonya's chances of being in the game. I like how they are handling this: She and Cassie are definitely related, but, they are both their own unique characters. Can't wait to see Mamma Blade.

I thought when Cassie wears her glasses, it implies that she is in her "Hollywood" fighting style, much like her daddy when he does his victory pose.

I like this hairstyle better than the drop down / bob haircut.

I had thought both were set to separate variations.

I agree the shaved part is what gives her personality and separates her from Sonya. But I cant help but choose the short haircut over the bun. Maybe they can keep the short one but with one shaved side.

I do like both, but I prefer the short, loose hair over the topknot. But either way she looks cool. ^^

Man, I can see Sonya in both of these. I like both of them either way, we need more short haired females.

I wonder if they shouldn't have given Johnny and Sonya and kick heavy leg grabby son. From what little I've seen of her she seems like a bratty Sonya.

I for sure prefer the new look, but I admit I'm kind of into the punky hair look on girls so perhaps I am a bit biased. Although, I also think it makes a lot of sense as practical design since she is Special Forces.

The Skrillex look is cool, but that bun at the back looks like a Chinese dumpling

Still would love the short hair too.

I have to say, the short haircut separates her from her mom a lot more.

I think the older look may be better fitted for her. I'm sure she doesn't want to be just like her mother. Hell, she fights while chewing gum! lol

She would totally be Sonya if she had her trademark pony tail and full hair on the sides, instead of that shaved look.

Hurry, someone please do some magic and edit this pic! ;) Give her the pony tail and hair:

But yeah, this look really does separate her from Sonya.
