Shavo Odadjian Edits Mortal Kombat X Launch Trailer feat. System of a Down

System of a Down multi-instrumentalist and video director Shavo Odadjian is joining the team behind Mortal Kombat X to compose a special launch trailer debuting April 6th! Enter the editing suite in the special sneak peek below:

The trailer features System of a Down's anthemic 2001 hit Chop Suey!. The TV Spot hits screens Friday, March 27th.

Watch closely and you may notice some never-before-seen sequences from the upcoming game and its much talked about Story Mode. The appearance of a winged demon creature has sparked particular speculation, revolving around confirmed playable villain Shinnok, a revenant Liu Kang, or other figures such as The Dragon King and DC Comics' mysterious "blood demon".

Now if this trailer and info coming out soon, if things go so fucking well this might be the best Mortal Kombat canon game of all time IMO. My body is ready.

It's just a Neatherrrealm demon. Not Onaga. Onaga wouldn't be in this, game. Blood god I don't know. Havik acted like reiko would be the blood god

well the kamidogu are playing a prominent role in the comics, it's entirely possible for him to show up

and havik is probably deceiving reiko. he's fucking havik lol

We keep seeing more and more of Baraka. It would really be terrible if he plays a key role in story mode but is not a playable character. I just can't see him not being playable at this point.

This is what I was thinking, we've now seen him in 2 scenes of the story plus the achievement picture. As a HUGE Baraka fan I would feel pretty annoyed if he isn't playable.

I'd love for it to be Onaga, but I won't get my hopes up just yet.

System has some amazingly fun guitar riffs to play. That's what I like most about them, but this is still pretty nifty. Can't wait to see what Shavo has come up with!

That's not Rain, it's a D'Vorah alt. You can see her wings after she tackles him.

And that's most likely not the blood god or shinnok's demon form. The people who played the first chapter of story mode said it looks exactly like the generic oni demons.

That doesn't look like Baraka to me. It looks like Reptile in an alternate costume. Also, how does the pic you labeled as "Dark Raiden" even remotely resemble Dark Raiden? Looks like Sub Zero to me. No hat, no sleeves = no Dark Raiden to me. I'd really like to know what makes you, or anyone else, think that looks like Dark Raiden? Am I missing something?

Ahhhh... I think I see what might be blades on his arms on the first pic, so yea, it probably is Baraka. His mask just looks like Reptile's mask to me, and I couldn't see any big teeth.

Dark Raiden is interesting. The story elements after the OutWorld CiviL War might have all kinds of craziness! I can't believe how little we know. It's not like the internet. LoL
