MKX DLC: Blanche Brutality Koming Soon & Boon Wishlist

Kingpin of Kombat Ed Boon has revealed one of the extra features coming to Mortal Kombat X via the next update patch! The news comes via Twitter, where the Creative Director also dropped some thoughts about what he'd like to see, and what we still might see:

Lightly Blanched: Golden Girls fans will remember Blanche as the one who liked to sleep around.

Blanche Brutality Koming Soon
According to the current Mortal Kombat Online User Poll: 39.8% think Brutalities have been the best new addition in Mortal Kombat X! Fans should be excited to learn, then, that another one is on its way! Boon revealed the Outworld Marketplace will get a fresh dose of geriatric bodily harm courtesy of the next patch. Affectionately dubbed Blanche; the old woman of the market will become an instrument of doom - continuing the tradition of disrespect already established by the Blanche Advantage achievement. Be good to your elders, kids.

Klassic Arenas Making a Komeback?
With only thirteen arena locations, Mortal Kombat X has failed to wow the Mortal Kombat (2011) did. When quizzed about the prospect of bringing back some of the klassic stages omitted from MKX, the Creative Lead revealed it has been discussed, along with other unnamed returns!

Mortal Kombat X already includes a variety of "klassic" costume skins, adding more via DLC for free with Compatibility Packs and for moolah in The Kombat Pack. We also recently learned Klassic Fatalities will be making their way to DLC [full story].

Could Jim Lee Design Sub-Zero?
Boon and DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee were making goo goo eyes over the freshly included "Injustice" Scorpion. A superstar comic book artist in his spare time; Lee redesigned Mortal Kombat's ninja mascot in 2013, for inclusion in NetherRealm's DC fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us [full story].

The design divided diehard fans, but went on to be the best selling DLC for the game. A year on; Mortal Kombat X has a home at Warner Brothers' owned DC Comics as a top selling digital series, and comic book [full story]. All of this goes to say - a Jim Lee designed Sub-Zero wouldn't be completely out of leftfield!

Mortal Kombat X is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC. Interested in DLC & more? Register to find and discuss all the news in the Mortal Kombat X forum! Support the site by liking & sharing via @MK_Online, Facebook & YouTube!

I hope they get creative and make her punch the living crap out of the victim or something.

I expect them to explode, though (along with Blanche), and nothing but their heads remain.

Having Blanche get thrown, knocking her and the opponent down, then having her get back up and kill the fuck out of the opponent would be great

Now this is awesome. Not just for a new brutality that wasn't even coded in the original release of MKX, but for more unexpected surprises in the future. Why stop there Boon? Give us a "stage fatality" for every arena and maybe a legit secret fight or two.

Ed Boon considering Klassic Stage DLC

It seems they're thinking about it. I'd like to see a new Pit, simply because it's one of those MK staples.

Wow Boon wasn't kidding when he said modern game development is a long continual process that doesn't end after a game releases. I can't wait to see what else has has in store for us.

I know right? I really hope they go all out for MKX, it seems like the perfect game to do it.

OMG i'd be so freakin happy if they released klassic stages, especially one with stage fatalities, my #1 pick would be the deadpool with acid stage fatality, that stage just screams iconic MK

This is what the game needs the most, five stages would make a world of difference. They gotta be Klassics though, the game is missing the true MK feel of the stages on most stages.

The only stage I really miss is the Bank. I was kind of bummed out that it didn't make it into MK9 and it would look absolutely amazing if redone.

It would be a shame if the only dlc is the Kombat Pack, and some extra costume packs like in Injustice. I think they know it would be bad biz so their full attention is to keep the game rolling.

Well some files on Steam revealed Klassic Fatalities but that's the extent of it so far.

Warrior Shrine, Soul Tombs, and Wastelands.

If stage fatalities were part of the package then The Pit 3, Dead Pool, and Kombat Tomb.

Any will do though. I love just about all of the classic stages.

This is exciting.

Hahaha - all my efforts were for naught, experimenting to find Stage Brutalities. They don't exist....yet.

I'm happy that they will be adding additional content like this.

Well, you all got your Tremor now. Can we finally move on?

All of this but just to add maybe the Portal, Bell Tower, Prison & Elder God Arena from MK4.

Watch we will just throw her at the opponent and both of them will explode into pieces like the explosive kombat modifier lol I hope it will be something more creative but I could see that pretty much being it.

RE: Ed Boon considering Klassic Stage DLC

The first trilogy's arenas were replicated many times from DA to Armageddon, aswell as mostly all redone for MK9.

Would be cool to get MK4 arenas since this is mostly based on MK4.

The Prison and Reptile's Lair comes to mind. There are also acid pits in Reptile's Lair, so you could get your stage fatality there. It could be modified and introduced as the place Reptile finds in his ending. The Prison could also be redone and repurposed as the Special Forces prison with cameos by the bad guys in cells in the back.
