Developments from the third Mortal Kombat live-action webseries have been surprisingly quiet since filming commenced in January. Actor/model Lewis Tan may have provided our first look at the film, however, sharing an Instagram snap of a "a special series" in the editor's suite:


Look closely at the editor's shot list and you should be able to make out the works Mortal Kombat. This supports previous unconfirmed rumors that Tan will appear in the new series as Kung Jin. A second image [aboved] shows a close-up of the actor, originally posted in February.

The Mortal Kombat X newcomer was among characters listed in a reported casting call for the series. A leaked call sheet from the shoot confirms fellow MKX introductions Ferra/Torr and Cassie Cage for an appearance.

Kung Jin is a relative of heroic kombatant Kung Lao [Mark Dacascos in Legacy II], who turned his back on his heritage to survive on the streets as a petty thief. He is lured back to the Shaolin order by Raiden during Mortal Kombat X's story mode The character made headlines for being the first gay character in the series [full story].

The third live-action webseries is rumoured to be titled Mortal Kombat: Generations. It remains unclear if, or how specifically, the series follows previous instalments of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Casper Van Dien (Johnny Cage) and Cary-HIroyuki Tagawa (Shang Tsung) are confirmed to return from Series 2.
