Kinda odd that of all the leaks, this is the only one that has been deleted on Reddit (twice). The mods even made an official announcement to not talk about it. Also, people on Discord are getting banned in the MK community for trying to share it.

The other leaks are fine though...

I really can't wait for none of this to NOT materialize so you can look ridiculous. You're going waaaay too hard for something that can't be proven and may be false. Ronda Rousey, a 31 year old playing Sonya, a woman in her sixties? That's is hilariously bad.

LOL...first of all, Sonya’s not in her 60s. It wouldn’t matter if she was, but she isn’t. Second, the game is clearly dealing with the past and classic looks, so they might have a lot of wiggle room with things like time and age. And third, Ronda would be VOICING her. Do you think everyone who voices an older person is the same age as the character? And what does a 60 year old sound like that sounds so much different than a 31 year old? lmao

Being completely honest, I have seen similar leaks for other games in the past that went above and beyond to try and prove their worth just to gain traction and troll people. This is kinda similar. Its super convenient and doesnt give too much away to discredit it at the drop of a hat. Not to mention that cover art does seem very "I have a profile on Deviantart" compared to say the MKX or I2 covers. Its pretty telling it has an unrated sticker on this 'cover' but no WB or NRS logo.

Also, its super easy to mix tracks and create audio these days. And its incredible simple to fake an email if you wanted to go through the trouble....

All I am saying is there were plenty of believable and credible leaks of this nature about MKX and none of them ended up accurate and a lot of people put way too much stock into them.

There was also a link to a video file:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/asgkhj19eyatbtx/MK11-Cinematic-BTS-0002.mp4/file

Also in the leak there are links to companies that are obscure that have worked with Warner Bros before for MKX, Injustice and MK11:

http://www.plasticwax.com/
https://www.meduzarts.com/

If this isn a fake then the leaker went above and beyond to make it look real.

If you take a look at the leaks that ended up being true for I2 and MKX they were incredibly simplistic with little to no effort on the leakers part. Just the name dropped roster for MKX from JamessMK and the roster and an image of concept art for I2 from the mobile dev. No gameplay details, no cover art, no music, no supposed internal emails, no details that come off as try hard. It was the simplistic ones that always came out to be true. All of the overly detailed ones proved fake.

This could be true, sure, and if it is then cool but more than likely its not which is why I am not putting any stock into it. Any determined individual could have taken a day or two to make this and do some leg work, as per any leak.

In the end, time will tell and we will know come January.

The Injustice 2 leaks were from a QA tester on the mobile version. They would never have access to official development documents or emails. These are not from QA but much higher up.

Also why the leaker have a video that looks at the behind the scenes footage from the company that made the MK11 trailer? Who would go to all that trouble just to troll people? The chances of a person getting backstage footage and then deciding instead of leaking it, they are going to troll people with an elaborate hoax are next to nil in my opinion.

I private chatted with Eon (the guy who posted the leak). He misspelled Ronda Rousey (Rousy). It’s spelled correctly in the email leak. His style of speech in general is different than the email leak’s. Doesn’t necessarily mean anything, he could be an evil genius, but I thought I’d share... Also, he’s a software dev. Not some fanboy going to high school.

Yeah the Ronda Rousey playing Sonya is a stretch, but not entirely impossible. They did get Carl Weathers to show up in MKX so I wouldn't say its entirely out of the realm of possibility that they would get someone famous to play a character in MK11. Still skeptical on it, nonetheless.

That mokap video, however, looks legit to me. If it's fake, then thats some next level trolling lol.

And now the new box art "leak" featuring Geras. My educated guess is that it didn't make the cut for a good reason. Would have been "too much of a leak" and Scorpion, as a character, is simply more recognizable and convincing...

Obviously the box art template is the same as the Scorpion one. It's even more apparent in the full size version of the images.

Someone said something about the "Mortal Kombaat" scream in the "demo soundtrack". There's a program called Audacity. I hear it creates miracles for free. WAV files are easily exported. WAVs are better than MP3s for many reasons, including the lack of meta data in the file, revealing its creator. :)

I'm losing interest in this leak. Moving on to the next...

"K, explain the song."

Well, just listen to it, it has the "classic" movie scream, and, as a musician myself, I could do something similar with FL Studio in a matter of hours if not days.
How convenient to use "commonly used" effects and leads, fitting with the release trailer music (Rap/Trap oriented), they did it too for MKX, but the ingame musics weren't like that, so I think the leak is fake.

Another thing that makes me think it's safe is that well...
Am I the ONLY one who noticed that that freaking "Mortal Day" is WRITTEN as taking place January 17 2018?

Like... Are they gonna get back in time? We're in 2019 in a few weeks.

Anyone could (as explained above), use the old bios, their brains and works some believable leaks, make a "theme song" on FL Studio, upload it, just because you're not stupid and were like "If I put a link in it, people will search, and by so, it'll make my leaks sounds true".

Would you share an MP3 clip via dropbox when you're in a big professional agency and has to keep it secret? You'd send it as attachement, and you'd most likely won't SCREW the date of a "THAT" important presentation, 2018, january, like... lol.

Either it's true and NRS should seriously hire more serious person, either it's well done, but it's too "given on a plate" to be true (with such inconsistencies also).

Look, everyone were hyped for "Cyberpunk 2077" by CDPR, they had a leak too, and they really took it seriously, while NRS is like "we don't give a fuck", so I don't believe it (unless, it's made on the sole purpose of teasing and making people talk about the game, which is also possible)

Look, I ultimately don't really care if it's real or fake, and like most sane people I'll take everything with a grain of salt, and consider it BS until proven otherwise... but just a couple thoughts off my head...

I'm a graphic artist for a big professional company. Studied Game Art/Animation in college, but never broke into the field. Mostly boring commercial stuff. Branding/Advertisement for other major companies...

The Scorpion Cover does a lot to convince me, frankly. It appears to be a previously unseen render of Scorpion in the same outfit he wore in the trailer. This does not look like a modified screengrab to me. While it may be small, the quality does not look subpar to me. It doesn't look like it's blurry, grainy, overly filtered, poorly clipped, or otherwise trying to hide flaws that would potentially be more apparent in a larger, higher rez version. This just looks like a thumbnail of a legitimate render to me. BUT... who the hell knows. I could be wrong.

The lack of company logos means little to me. That's not highly unusal for an early thumbnail. You can google "Mortal Kombat X Cover" right now and find thumbnails of what proved to be the final cover art, which also lack logos. The final cover had logos, but... an early thumbnail doesn't need to have them, per say.

I also don't think the use of dropbox or naming January 17 2018 do anything to disprove the e-mail at all... hell, they may up the validity.

People are people, whether they work for an office or not. People F-Up dates, especially in transitional months like Dec/Jan. All of us have done this. Any of us could have erroneously typed 2018 out of habit after typing it for 12 months, in reference to next month (when yes, it will be 2019). I've seen this done where I work. I've done this where I work. Yes, we're all professionals, and when we catch it we fix it, but... this happens.

As for dropbox, yeah, we use that where I work to. "You wouldn't use drop box, you'd send that as an attachment" is a fairly incorrect assumption to me. Especially if media/pr/project management types are the ones doing the sending. I get files as attachments, dropbox, ftp, downloads via web archives, saved to public company servers/directories... literally any way you can think to transfer, send or receive a file. And pretty much ALL of these files are assets they technically don't want the public to have. No one working a day to day desk job with these files really cares. We just want to get what we need as quickly as possible, so we can finish as soon as possible, like anyone doing any job. Maybe whoever created the audio sent it to this Marketing rep via dropbox, and the marketing rep simply forwarded along the same link. Maybe the Marketing rep just lacks knowhow and sent it the easiest way they know how. Project Management people often lack techy-know how and if your justification is "sending it a different way would be smarter" well... people in offices aren't always smart...

A project manager once sent me a photograph for a site I was working on by sending me a screengrab of said photo in an e-mail, saved into a word file. Rather than just right clicking said photo and saving it (or forwarding me the e-mail containing the photo) this person took a screengrab of the e-mail itself (and all the accompanying desktop cluttery crap I didn't need) saved that in a WORD file... attached THAT to an e-mail, and sent me that.

People who work in offices for big companies can be stupid. I don't think I need to tell any of you... co-workers can always be stupid.

I think it's ENTIRELY possible a marketing rep could send a file in a manner that wasn't the safest/smartest way possible. This happens every day in my office.

You also just trust that the people you're working with aren't going to pass these things out to people who shouldn't have them to a certain degree. Granted, I don't think I've ever worked with anything quite THIS sensitive... if anything I worked with "leaked" I doubt most of the general public would ever notice or give a crap. But I could EASILY see where LOADS of things I work with COULD leak.

ANYWAY... I dunno... like I started off saying, I'm not necessarily trying to say, "This must be real!" ... I'm not. Just saying, I feel like some of the things people are calling out as ways of disproving it, actually disprove nothing.

A mistyped date, a missing logo, or simply sending something via dropbox isn't suspicious to me. This stuff happens in desk jobs.

But then again, nothing really proves any of it valid either.

That Scorpion render we haven't seen twists my arm a great deal, but... I can't be any more certain about it than anyone else. Just saying it looks to be of convincing enough quality to me (regardless of its small size)... in any event it's no more or less simplistic than MKX's cover.

Don't know where to post this, and didn't want to open a new thread, but Johnny Cage's voice actor Andrew Bowen posted a smiling emoticon with sunglasses on his Twitter linking the post to the MK 11 reveal trailer.

It might be nothing, but we need a sticky thread where to collect all the small rumors that do not deserve their own thread.

... No it isn't. I'm scrutinizing the video side by side with the cover right now. Every detail of his costuming is identical. It's the same model. The geometry of his head is the same. His gauntlets, his boots, his swords, the head of his spear, the little round clasp on his tunic, the similar clasps hanging off his shoulders, the piping on his pants, the seams on his hood, the wrinkles in the fabric. They're all identical. This is the same model. No one eyeballing a dimly lit full motion video is that good. Nothing about the model on this cover is different from the one in the video. SOMETHING would have been missed.

If fake, (for the sake of argument) the amount of effort that would have to have gone into this is astronomical. No artist working anonymously, for no pay is pulling this off. Anyone good enough to reproduce a drawing that matches the trailer model this well has better things to spend the great deal of time and effort it would have taken on. Because that guy is talented as hell.

This Scorpion is entirely too good a match to not be real. It would have to be a photomanip'ed screencap from the trailer, and it looks too clean and well lit to have been pulled from the trailer.

I like to err on the side of skepticism as much as the next person, but, as I said in more words in my last post, the cover/render does a lot to convince me. And again, I am also a graphic artist... so... agree to disagree I suppose.
