For those who had difficulty viewing Mortal Kombat Online's Exclusive Video Interview with Ed Boon (which can still be downloaded here [Right-Click/Save As]), the official transcript has now been made available! From the interview: Scott Howell Alright, Question #2 is from Alfonso Navarro from San Paulo, California. "In the past, it was said there would be 24 characters in total for MK: Deception, the amount we've seen in most of the line-up or heard of their confirmation. Boon, are you planning more, meaning will there be more than 24 characters?"
Ed Boon Yes, there will be more than 24 characters. Your main grid of characters will be 8x3 which will be 24 characters, but we do like hiding additional characters in the Konquest mode that will be in addition to the 24 characters. first ... haha
And let me apologize in advance for the almost certain slaughtering of people's names and/or location. The interview had loud music playing, so unless the word was familiar, I had a very hard time deciphering it.

I always imagined the interview being in a room AWAY from E3.

You mean to tell me that...at NO time did you guys stop and realize, "Hey E3 has a lot of games. Its usually loud there. Maybe we shouldn't have the interview take place RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE CHAOS."

All i'm saying is your apology could have been avoided greatly by just having the interview isolated away from all the loud shit.

Also... Its quite clear both Booth and the interviewers are having difficulty talking over the noise. Why not stop filming and move to a quiet place with better lighting?

Um, the interview wasn't at E3. It was at a pre-E3 party where the noise was unavoidable (at a loud hotel, with a live DJ, on a rooftop). There were no secret rooms, please accept our humble apologies for not catering to every whim.

So there will be more than 24 characters, but they will be from konquest. So that means characters like rain, stryker or sheeva(if brought back to life) could return.

And the mid-boss you fight sounds interesting and boon mentioned that you can play as him and says the following, "one of the hottest characters we've had in Mortal Kombat" so that means that it is someone that hasn't been in MK and my thought of it being Liu is now a long shot.

Better questions could have been asked. Some of them were pointless.

I personally can't believe the staff here are being crisitcised for interviewing the MK crew in a crowded and noisy area. It was good the MK team spoke to them at all and they aren't just going to leave a function for anybody and everybody to answer private questions, especially during such an event as that. I for one am very appreciative of what the guys have done here with the coverage and I am sure 99% of the rest of us are as well.

Heh, I wanted to hit myself with a hammer when I said MK Deception instead of Deadly Alliance tongue

As for it being outside, oh sure we would have LOVED an indoor interview where it wasn't loud, but we didn't really have a say in the matter. Midway pretty much told us where to have it, so there's nothing we could have done. We're lucky enough they granted us the interview in the first place, so we can't go around making demands. Does it really matter? It still turned out to be a good interview.

4 winners will still get shirts. However.. It's going to be put on hold for moment. While at E3 every developer begged for a shirt. So heh.. you have to stand in line after Tony Goskie, Steve Baren, Mike Teran, and Ed Boon. tongue But we haven't forgotten!

So how will the winner be decided?
