After a quiet week on the news front, our friends over at Midway Games have given us five exclusive screenshots from the upcoming Mortal Kombat: Armageddon! One screenshot shows a close up of a female Kreated Kombatant in the fine-tuning of her appearance. Another screenshot shows Taven in Konquest mode, as he fights what could almost be Lin Kuei warriors in an ice arena. The other three screenshots are in kombat mode. One shows Sub-Zero giving a flying kick to Stryker in Kahn's Arena. Another shows Shang Tsung delivering a flying kick to Frost in an unidentified arena with eggs mounted around the fighting area. The third, and most interesting image, shows Kintaro facing none other than Motaro in Kahn's Arena. This is the first screenshot we've seen of Motaro; the rumours appear to be true in that he is bipedal, as opposed to having four legs in Mortal Kombat 3.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is slated for an October 9th release in the States, and October 20th in Europe.

aye, I had wondered how they would make that work, it probably would have unbalanced everything. Curious to see if they give any explanation to that or just roll with it. Still I think he looks pretty sweet that way anyways, I'm not disapointed by this change at all. However I'm sure within the next 30 minutes or so someone will be expressing extreme rage at this change. I hope I'm proven wrong though, I really do. Just remember, it was done with the best intentions, meaning you get Motaro in the game and he's playable, not over powered or too clunky to fight back.

Amazing. I am certainly shocked out of my fucking mind about motaro but all in all i guess if they didnt do that, he wouldnt work so well in the game. I am happy none the less. BRING ON THE GAMEPLAY VIDS!!!

LOL @ Motaro - I can't wait to hear all the complaints there are gonna be in this thread. Maybe Sheeva tore half of him out? Or maybe he suffers from the reverse effect that Reptile has, so that loneliness turns him closer to a human (lmao).

But the pics are awesome! Again, however, I strongly think they should've set aside characters we've already seen like Sub-Zero and Stryker, and put in some characters we have yet to take a look at. That was a bad move. On a commending note, however, I love the Motaro/Kintaro pic (see how good it is to see new characters instead of the same old E3 stuff?) We've seen screens similar to the Shang/Frost and the Taven in Konquest one before (if everyone followed all the news), but they're still great to look at!

Still hoping to get those gameplay vids sometime soon, though (lol) - Great pics, hope everyone likes them.

haha listen it's for the best. It was either that, exclude em, make em overpowerful or have him be straight up terrible because he's clunky.

I must admit I'm dissapointed with Motaro, but not angry, yeah at least they got him in the game. Don't forget when we first started to hear the details about MKA we didn't even think he'd be included. It's sad that he's lost his back legs, but I guess it wasn't possible. I'd like to hear Boons comments about Motaro.

Motaro doesn't look that bad now. Sure he isn't the exact same monster we all came to love, but at least he is in this game and still looking pretty beastly.

I mean I am not angry, but I would rather this game not have motaro that have whatever this thing is( new motaro), I mean it would be fine if motaro wasn't in the game, I wouldn't care, but I think if he is going to be called motaro he should have 4 legs, not 2, either give him another name or just not have him in the game at all.
