Premise
Shao Kahn's invasion of the Earthrealm has unforseen repercussions in the realm of Outworld when a hibernating warrior is stirred from his slumber. Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot awakens to discover the once fertile land has become barren and dry! The sole survivor of his ancient waterproof race, Aquilluxborg swears to exact revenge against Rain and Shao Kahn for their part in the destruction of environment and waste of resources.

The disruption caused by Kahn's merger allows Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot to travel to other realms, amassing a plethora of powers in both the Netherrealm and Earth, itself. The waterproof warrior acquires demonic and cybernetic upgrades, with which he intends to defeat his enemies. Hydroxybot's fate during abd after the invasion of Earthrealm is not known.

Aqua Mortal Kombat Trilogy Ending:

"Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot is stirred from hibernation by the disturbance caused by Shao Kahn's invasion of Earth. He awakens from his self-imposed exile to discover he is the sole survivor of his ancient waterproof race. Blaming the emperor for the drought that killed his family and pond, the mysterious ninja takes advantage of a fault between realms. Travelling to the Netherrealm and Earth, he gains strange new cyber-oni powers.

Shao Kahn and the Edenian warrior Rain are punished for their responsibility in making a barren wasteland of the once fertile planes of Outworld. They are no match for the motivated waterproof cyber-oni ninja. Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot then seizes control of Kahn's army, continuing a march of conquest. With Earthrealm defeated he will unleash a terrible genocidal flood to revive his race upon the grave of humanity. Have a nice day.

Additional Info
As one of Mortal Kombat's most obscure and bizarre rumors, Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot has attracted a cult following since his emergence in the late nineties. The unusual secret character has endured through appearances in Official PlayStation Magazines and the eventual discovery of hidden (or unused) on-disc content. "Aqua" is said to remain hidden in particular versions of the European PlayStation Platinum release of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Anecdotal claims suggest the character can be unlocked through unknown elaborate means, but it is more widely believed he is included incidentally, as a hidden joke, or unfinished character. When asked about the subject, series co-creator John Tobias confirmed the existence of unused sprites in Trilogy[1]. Along with the character's ending [above], a victory soundbyte has also been lifted from MKT discs [external link].

The name "Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot" is reported to have appeared in some Sega CD versions of the first Mortal Kombat. It is widely believed the characters existence is owed to those who worked on porting the game(s) for PAL systems.

Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot is the third character to include MK's iconic, ironic well wishings. "Have a nice day" also appears in ending sequences for Raiden and Shang Tsung in the first two games. Aquilluxborg is the only character to have four text screens in his MKT ending, one more than the standard three.

While there is no known biography screen, "Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot" is revealed to be the warrior's full name in his ending sequence. In-game, the power bar lists the character as Aqua. As the longest name of a Mortal Kombat character, "Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot" would be too long to fit.

It could be reasonably assumed that the environmentalist theme in Aqua's ending is a parody of cartoon tropes popular during the early to mid-nineties. In classic MK style, Aqua takes his fight for drought awareness to particularly extreme, vengeful lengths.

Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot is the first kombatant to have a bill.

Legacy
While Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot has scarcely appeared in any official capacity, the character continues to have an enduring effect on fans who are aware of his obscure existence. Tapping in to the sense of mystery and humor that has typified Mortal Kombat throughout its many years, Aqua is considered by many a missing piece of a puzzle built from similar mysteries and jokes. Aqua has inspired a plethora of tributes and recreations by fans in different mediums, including Mortal Kombat Online, who included a reference in the site's annual April Fool (2012). Will Aquilluxborg Hydroxybot one day find his way to the playable roster? Only time will tell!
