Live-Action Jade & Skarlet Featured in Russian Vita Advertising

Click to EnlargePromotion for Mortal Kombat on the PlayStation Vita continues in Europe, as two more characters get the live-action model treatment!

The new campaign features Russian models, Evgeniya Rukavitsina and Alena Polurotova, posing as Jade and Skarlet, respectively. They join their three UK counterparts to complete five of the seven total female characters in the Vita lineup, continuing Europe's love affair with cosplay kombatants.

Kitana (Rachelle Glover), Mileena (Danni Levy) and Sonya (Carly Baker) were fixtures of live events in 2011, appearing prominently during the Official European Mortal Kombat tournament, and in other promotions.
The trio received their own spotlight in three official cosplay featurettes and official photography [below], before Kitana and Mileena returned in 2012 to star in two television spots emphasising the PlayStation Vita's portability.

While the Fight Anywhere, Kombat Anyone TV spots place two of MK's iconic femme fatales in the real world, the Russian ads put live-action models in arenas from the game [thumbnails below]. In a tip of the hat to scene detail from Mortal Kombat II, Jade appears in The Living Forest, while Skarlet lurks within the depths of Goro's Lair.

Photographs of Jade and Skarlet were taken by Sirmax photographer, Maxim Zayats. Special thanks to Dmitry Doronin for providing information and resources. Mortal Kombat is now available in most parts of the world, with Russia reportedly joining the PlayStation Vita revolution, May 11!
