Johnny Cage Coming to WWE Immortals

He survived Hell in a Well in Mortal Kombat 4, and defeated Mortal Kombat champion Prince Goro on film! Now Johnny Cage is cashing in on his stardom as the latest celebrity contender to invade the world of World Wrestling Entertainment!

MKX Comics: Hey! That Special Forces Agent Kinda Looks Like...!

Early last year, Mortal Kombat Online had fun comparing Triple H's Wrestlemania XXX entrance with legendary Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn. It looks like Chapter 4 of DC Comics' new series has turned the tables, showing us a Special Forces line-up with Sonya Blade and a large redheaded fellow who looks awfully familiar!

NetherRealm Studios Developing WWE Immortals Mobile Game

World Wrestling Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios are about to be partners in mobile gaming!

In the tradition of Midway Entertainment's Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game; NetherRealm's mobile development team -- in association with Phosphor Game Studios -- will launch an all-new, free-to-play app in 2015 called: WWE: Immortals!

Gamespot reports the game will feature "... epic Superstar battles in a fantastically re-imagined WWE world." To date, corporate parent Warner Bros. have released no other information or materials.

NetherRealm has had considerable success with their Injustice: Gods Among Us Mobile. Launched in 2013; Injustice Mobile has had a string of on-going updates, including a 2.0 multi-player revamp. It is unknown if Immortals will employ the same card-based battle system when it arrives on iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices. WWE currently has WWE: SuperCard - a card collecting App from 2K Studios, released in August.

WWE and Warner Brothers previously announced a partnership in November, granting Warner Bros. Home Entertainment distribution rights to WWE programming starting January 1, 2015.

Mortal Kurio: Wrestlemania King of Kings - or Emperor of Outworld?

Getting an exact live-action version of the iconic Mortal Kombat arch-villain Shao Kahn has been a game of hit and miss. Surprising, given his original design was built to be worn and realized through live-action digitization.

At this year's Wrestlemania XXX event in New Orleans; WWE's "King of Kings" Triple H returned to action with the most spectacular version of his throne and mask entrance to date. As you'll see from the pictures attached below, his grim skull-faced visage and throne gird by women screams all the trappings of Outworld's Emperor! A live-action spectacle that shames the film versions with its unashamed abandon!

Mortal Kurio: Rob Van Dam - Defender of Earthrealm?

Garish colourful costumes, trademark fighting manoeuvres, good versus evil, and a World Championship hanging in the balance. It's difficult to know if we're describing Mortal Kombat, or the wild world of professional wrestling!

In an interview with Wrestle Talk TV; recently returned WWE superstar Rob Van Dam revealed his close calls with a Mortal Kombat inspired wrestling gimmick in the mid-nineties. Fans of the now defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW) may remember the resulting Glacier character [pictured top].

"I've had some offers that didn't sound too appealing. When I was in ECW defending the television title, I had an offer from WCW, but they wanted to turn me into a Mortal Kombat character. [...] Even after they made Glacier, they said 'it's okay. We're gonna make a whole bunch of them. We're gonna make a big group of Mortal Kombat guys, and you'll have mask.'"

WWE Fantasy Now Includes.... Scorpion?

Over on the World Wrestling Entertainment website, one of the featured items is WWE Fantasy, which appears to be a fantasy wrestling game similar to fantasy football. In the latest installment, a new addition has been made to the roster which appears to be more than a little unusual. As an apparent tie-in to Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Scorpion appears to have jumped into the WWE fray. From the website:
