Sub-Zeros Spine Rip Chosen as Favorite MK1 Fatality!

Over on the official Mortal Kombat Twitter page, the fans were challenged to give their favorite fatality for the original Mortal Kombat arcade game, as part of what was tagged #MortalMonday. The votes are in, and today the winner was announced as part of #FatalityFriday. The winner, unsurprisingly. is Sub-Zero's spine rip!

Mortal Kombat at Gamescom - New Characters & Arenas!

Mortal Kombat is making the rounds today as coverage of Gamescom in Cologne, Germany has gotten under way! German fansite MKUniverse is covering the event and are reporting that the two characters alluded to by Ed Boon are the Princess of Edenia, Kitana and the yellow cyborg Cyrax. The two arenas mentioned by Ed are both from Mortal Kombat 3: The Bell Tower and Jade's Desert.

GameTrailers Posts Top 10 Mortal Kombat Fatality List!

The long running ScrewAttack show on GameTrailers has posted a list of their favorite 10 fatalities from the Mortal Kombat series. The list spans from Mortal Kombat 1 through MK: Shaolin Monks release wise and features the likes of Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Liu Kang and Johnny Cage. Below is a recap of their top 10:

Mortal Kombat At E3 2010 - Day 3 and Wrap Up

E3 came to a close on June 17th, but as the media left the floor and the fans tuned away from their streams, Mortal Kombat was the game on everyone's mind. After winning Gamespot's Fan Choice award during Day 2, the game was chosen to close out the site's coverage of the event. Ed Boon narrated over the gameplay featured as designers Paulo Garcia and John Edwards took control of several of the game's revealed characters to showcase gameplay mechanics, special moves and fatalities. Mortal Kombat At E3 2010 - Day 2

As the second of three days at E3 rolled on, new information about the upcoming Mortal Kombat game surfaced in the form of new interviews and video. Firstly, G4 conducted an interview with Ed Boon in which he talked at great length about the gameplay, specifically the combo system, of the game, which he confirmed would be about in Spring 2011 for the Playstation 3 and XBox 360. Europe Gets Uncensored Joker Fatality in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.

We reported earlier that the ESRB had forced Midway to tone down several of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe's fatalities so that the game could receive a T rating (as presumably mandated by DC Comics and its parent company Warner Bros). On the other hand, Videogamer.com is reporting that the Joker's fatality, and probably others, will be uncensored in Europe, thanks to the different ratings system used there. From the article:

Kotaku is reporting that Midway is having to tone down several of the fatalities in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe in order to secure a T rating from the ESRB. Kitana was one character whose fatality was changed in order to secure the rating. However, another character whose fatality was changed to secure the rating was the Joker's, and in fact it was his first fatality seen that got changed: the joke gun fatality. From the article:
