Just sparkly? im sure she is a ghost. Didn't lui say he would avenge her or something?

In Liu's story it says this:
"Still the immortal champion of Mortal Kombat, Liu Kang ventures into the realm of Edenia to rescue the princess Kitana from the vile clutches of Quan Chi, unsuccessful in his mission, Liu returns to earth and mounts ann effort to bring together earth's greatest warriors. He does it this time not only to free Kitana's home, but to assist Earth's protector, Rayden."
She's not dead, and besides, she was in the upgrade to MK4, Gold.
She comes through the portal in his ending (and apparently sparkles along with it) and asks him to be king and a ruler of edenia with her the queen, sort of thing.
Anyhow, he has to turn her down, but she's not dead.

Thanks for clearing it up for me. I had mk 4 so i never saw that bit.
