BBC MKDA Review

It can be easily said that they did not spend nearly enough time on playing the game for a review...
Agreed, that review just looks like it was rushed together (probably was).
There are many reviews in the UK that have rated it poorly sadly sad.

What were they thinking, MKDA is the best and funnest fighting game around. To think that they suggested that it submit to newer fighting games is beyond me, if you ask me MKDA takes those other games to school.

that was a horrible review. That same information can be read on the back of the case. Did the guy even play it?

I guess I could agree with them about the game not being an EXCELENT game. I mean, it's very good, and IMO, better than every other game out there, but even for me, it doesn't stand out that much from the others (it's not like after MKDA came out, I thaught everything else is pure trash). And considering that other people may not like the fighting system, the character design, or even liking them, prefer some other games, one can say that the game doesn't stand out that much.

Although, their whole review got ALOT suspicious at the end, when they state the game as turning old and boring. Come on! Midway killed the main character, changed the fighting system, started the game engine from near scrap (they did use Renderware, but still...). They even included a 218 Mission mode, very rare to fighting games, and a Krypt, filled with 676 Koffins to open, along with the Kurrency to unlock them. Also, they came up with the Test Your Sight. They didn't even call it MK5. They scrapped the other Fatalities (other than the normal ones)! What more changes did they want?? Scorpion calling in a crane instead of using the spear?? Sub-Zero using a liquid nitrogen jet to freeze the enemies?? Or maybe the very nice work Capcom did when they decided to scrap every single character for SF3!!! Get a grip!!! (I meant this as a critic for the BBC guys, not as a flame for any board members).

Damn..Fuck those guys at the BBC!
In holland the game gets a lot of good reviews with an average of 86 %!
I'm a big fan of fighting games, and i have Tekken tag tournament, tekken4, Virtua Fighter 4, and compared to those games i like Mk5 the most!
Because it ads more fun to the fighting genre.

You must forgive them. They're the remnants of Generation-X.

Seriously though, the BBC has a history of just throwing together things, and that review was obviously done by a dude watching some kids play it at a Big W store in Paddington.

I tend not to trust reviews these days because for one reason or another, the reviewer is biased.

I remember about ten years ago, a game which they said was crap was actually quite good and a game which they said was great turned out to be shitty which is even worse!! So now, if I like a game, I play it, if I don't then I don't. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I love MK:DA and so do millions others and so let us play and not care what others think :).

I got it here in the UK on friday, and it rocks.
BBC is crap anyway, the only good programme it has is Eastenders.

I must say that that review was complete trash .
MKDA is a really good gam ein my opinion. I was never a big fan of MK but after i bought MKDA it go tme hooked. Cmon that guy ddint play the game save a couple arcade matches "unlock power ups"? sho wme a power up you can unlock in the krypt. Just because i play a demo of a game in an electronics store doesnt mean i can write a review on it.

I doubt he even played a demo in a shop, he read the back of the box , took down all the details and added a few words of his own. He was just to damn lazy to play the game and review it, besides who cares, MKDA is now offically a big hit across europe , its number one on the ps2 , gamecube and xbox charts so he can stick his crappy comments up his arse.

Lol I can imagine some upper class twat receiving a copy of MK:DA for his freebie PS2, sighing and saying "What are we showing kids these days", then he turned it on, skipped the intro and set the game to Novice then he picked Sonya and played the first round on like 10% difficulty, thought it was crap and then ripped his review from the back of the box.
