Looks like Ed Boon took a page from Tekken's "How to Get Up When Knocke Down" book.
I've never really liked Tekken, but I've always admired the floor roll the characters use to avoid being hit when getting up. Anyhoo, I love the sarcastic screams Joker makes while he's being hit. It brings out the pycho in him. That "put 'er there" is just marvelous! I love it!
There's this kick that Raiden did at 5:09 that is very similar to the one Art did in Saw IV. Nice, though.

looks fuckin great.
sooo.... the throw that everyone shares is a directional throw? I mean.. I've seen people throw people forward AND backward.

They gave GL Scorpion's winning pose? God, I'm disappointed. Also, by the fact that none of his moves seem to fit his personality, like they just pulled them out of the MKDA/D/A pool.
I like the way that the game seems to move much faster than I've ever seen before but the animations still leave a lot to be desired. They still seem very stiff, at times like the laws of physics are not even affecting their bodies. Don't like the Flash's fighting stance, it looks stupid. Raiden's victory pose was alright, though.

The only real thing I was worried about with this game was its speed.
Looks like from this video. This game is getting back to the speed the series used to have.
While the fighting still looks alittle clunky. The speed is there and that makes me happy.
The DC characters look like they rely heavily on more cheap tactics than any MK character ever has.

Speed is fine but jesus they still have animation from the last 3 games watch 0:41 kang does that choppy unrealistic kick that was used to death in the last three

It doesn't look as stiff as the other three MK fighters, but it still looks a little more stiff than I'd like. The game looks Liu Kang, Superman, Raiden, Flash and Green Lantern seem fun to play as.

The pacing of the fighting is flawless, and quite impressive considering how crapy it was in the last 3 titles. However, while the speed has been improved its the animations that are leaving a sour taste of most mouths. Yes fighting is faster, but that still doesn't excuse the use of clunky animations from last gen consoles. These animations need to be trashed and never used again come the next MK game. Its time to get fluid, flawless, smooth animations in MK.

If they continue to stay on the quasi 2D path. True fluidity wont happen

Explain. Because I think we can all agree that Japanese 3D fightan gaems look pretty damn fluid.

3D fighting games are fluid, for the most part... but he's talking about staying with the 2D route. I think it's the right path for Mortal Kombat (even though most other fighters feel great in 3D) in general, because lets be honest... the 3D MK's haven't been all that good.

I actually prefer the "stiff" controls of the MK games over the Tekkens and Soul Caliburs. Fluid does not automatically mean fun.
