Who wants to play in a TOURNAMENT!?!

Okay here's how the tournament will work... This will be a tournament for INDIVIDUALS. Anyone can join as long as they follow the rules. Here they are...
-Players will be randomly paired up with other players.
-First player to get 7 wins moves on to the next level.
-No infinites
-No moving before the round
-You can play as many characters as you want. 1 every game or 7 different ones.
-Traps are to be turned off by the game creator.
-You can take as many free throws as you want. (The question is should it be legal to take a free hit them after the free throw? What about a free hit after a regular throw? Like the Bo F3 situation. Not sure if he's the only one that gets a free hit after a throw or not. We'll vote on this and the most votes wins. You can vote for this during the registration period)
There will be a chart made after all the players register to be part of this.

That is just a possibility of what the chart will look like when the tournament is over. There will be 4 rankings at the end...
1st place - PLATINUM WINNER
2nd place - GOLD RUNNER UP
3rd place - SILVER LEVEL PLAYER (Should be more than 1 at this level)
4th place - BRONZE LEVEL PLAYER (There will be multiple players ranked here too.)


You can register anytime during the month of September. After that, the names will be randomly selected and paired up for the chart. I'll keep the chart online for you to see and you can report your results here and the chart will be updated. This will be on the honor system. I happen to know that many people are using VCR's now and I'm sure honesty won't be an issue here.


To register, just announce that you want to participate on this thread. If you do choose to participate you will be randomly paired up as soon as the registration period is over (I promise to do this completely random. Names from a hat.) Once you agree to be in this tournament you will be slated on the chart permanently if you don't announce you're departure from the tournament before the registration period is over. So, the chart will say you forfeited, which I'd rather just lose myself. It would pretty much just show that you were afraid of the person you were paired up against. That person would have more shit talking power against you from that then if he just beat you.

Rules are all cool, I'd say Blood off as well.
I think location and distance between opponents should also be somewhat of a consideration when setting up matches, so evil LAG is not an issue.wink

I think round 1 should be the first week of October, so any day that your oponent is free and so are you will work. Weekends are fine.
I guess it depends on what your broadband connection is. I play people on the opposite coast all the time and have no problems as long as they have a decent connection. But blood off is fine. If you have connection problems and you think blood being off will improve your connection, just let your opponent know.

I'm in, I'd say no free hits after throws. Such as BRC + darrious. No partial infinites meaning 2 free throws in a row. Just don't be lame people. Play with some skill not the game's flaws.

Cool, looks like we have 4 players so far... Nice.
Who can take a throw after a throw? I don't think anyone's ever done that to me. If that's possible, whey can't they do 10 free throws in a row? Or is it one of those things where they backup and jumpkick you, then throw, repeat?

Shrimp, let's keep a positive outlook on this. I think once these guys see their names on the charts, their competitive edge will come out.
Quik, thanks for those examples... Those are great examples of what is not allowed in the tourney! grin You gonna be in Quik? You only need to play 7 wins per week (13 games max <7-6>) during whatever time you and your opponent are available.

lol free throws ARE glitches. they weren't meant to be there, which makes them a glitch in the game. they've just been accepted as fair game play. either way, count me in. hehe =)

Hey Quik, I used to think the same thing, but I don't think they are now. I could very well be wrong, but it almost seems like just a more advanced strategy... Who knows. Saleen thinks the ermac lift, axe, lift, axe, tk throw wasn't meant to be in the game and i disagree with that too.

free throws were NOT supposed to be in the game. the d2, lift, d2, lift, telethrow WAS meant to be there, seeing as how it is in the strategy guide. actually, i think the combo in the guide was u2, d2, lift, telethrow, but same difference. you're supposed to be able to lift after d2.

ok, so d2 and b2 are the exact same move one takes off 7% and is called a LAUNCHER and one takes off 15% and is called an UPPERCUT. uppercuts are not juggle moves they are 1 hit moves. i dont care if its in the guide no other character has a combo u can do off an uppercut. bottom line rush job poor testing. and if u are talking about the brady guide u think they test what they print, hav the moves in that guide dont even work.

no not at all. you're supposed to be able to do that stuff with ermac. i also believe that 223cs3cs for scorpion was meant to be a launcher as shown in the strategy guide. it's mostly a matter of opinion i guess. personally, i think if they put it in the trategy guide, it was most likely MEANT to be there. like they don't show bo's f+3, throw because it wasn't meant to be there. but hey, this is my opinion, not yours so don't get all psycho loltongue
