I am one of thos massively dedicated Metallica fans complete with my room plastured in them, a tattoo, and the main influence i became a musician myself. Il be here to the end, but check out the vids and songs and tell me what you think of the new album entitled "Death Magnetic".
all the new songs are on youtube.
honerable mentions:
-The Unforgiven 3
-The Judas Kiss
-Cyanide
-All Nightmare Long
-The Day That Never Comes
Check it out!
not up to the first 5 albums in my opinion, but deffinately the best since the black album.

it truly is a HUGE step back to the roots of metal, although they are missing catchy riffs to blow me away like the riffs in the first 5 albums, I can garuntee that the NEXT album will blow us away, hopefully:P still a great album.

For the record, and it's completely off-topic, but it irritates me that you always spell thoughts wrong. It's an "o", not an "a".
Anyway, back on topic. I'll have to check it out.

Reminds me a lot and quite a few others of AJFA, although more progressive and with bass. All of you haters who said this album wouldn't be good and Metallica would never be back just got proven wrong.

To everybody saying it's better than St. Anger...It's not hard to be better than St. Anger.

Obviously it's better than St. Anger, it's not much of a challenge to top an album that was made just so people wouldn't bother pirating it since it's so awful...topping RTL or MOP would be something incredible.

Was St. Anger really that bad?
Or are you just comparing it to their previous and more successful work?
I mean if say....The Killers came out with St. Anger would it be good then?

I respect them for showing musical growth and experimentation throughout their career. The Black Album- ReLoad albums proved that they can keep their heads above the surface in new waters. S&M was also an interesting experimentation that I enjoyed. It's good to vary your musical style rather than conforming to one singular sound throughout your entire career. They should perform whatever their hearts want them to.

Have you even heard Death Magnetic?
BTW, Metallica was awesome as an alternative band, but they weren't the kings of alt. rock like they are metal.

Not even Zeppelin could have made St. Anger worth listening to...
I had the Pleasure of Seeing Metallica before they hit it Big...And i was like "Wow, these dudes are gonna be HUGE!!!"...Well, i was right...I've followed their career since tehy played little clubs all the way to now...And i must say that St Anger is A Genital Wart on the Cock of Metallica's career...
And, because i am a HUGE Metallica fan, i didn't listen to ANY of teh new songs except Unforgiven III because i want to be suprised when Spencer Buy's it for me for my Birthday

Agree with you there. Especially S&M. One of my favorite cd's easily.

I've only heard a few of the songs, but I really like the riffs. It's definetly what they needed to bring back.
I'm just really pissed right now though about how there selling tickets for thier new tour. I've been wanting to see them for the past 2 years, now it's prctically imposible to get tickets for it.
...and I really want to see them again!

My birthday is on the 14th and I'm getting this album from my brother.
I've heard "The Day that Never Comes" on the radio a couple of times, it sounds pretty good. I'm glad Metallica found their roots again somewhat. Huge improvement over....St. Anger..*shiver*
