Mage smiled "aww thats sweet" she heard another set of footsteps behind her, then got spun around, Raiden had snuck in while her and keith were busy and he decided to get a fix of his own "You too" Mage smirked "yesh this addiction is spreading" she lead keith in and shut the door

"well this is it, tommorrow we see who faces onaga in the ring, but still I want to know, why is it so important that I kill him, not keith" Mage said, looking out her window "I know both of you know whats up and fujin won't mention anything to me, please, I need some answers"

Mage looked at raiden "Mage I want to, but..." Raiden hung his head then looked up "but then you are stronger then anyone anticapated, maybe it is time" he motioned Mage and ketih to sit down "Mage, you are meant to destroy onaga, many others, even myself, have tried but failed, you are the only one who can, and he knew this...." mage listened intently but then realized "let me guess, the creeps that took out my family, they were working for onaga..." she said softly, raiden nodded "his spirit tricked them into murding them, but they where also after you Mage, onaga wanted your life ended" mage snorted angerly for a moment "I was only 6 at the time, he wanted to kill a little kid!? and took out her parents, her sister, her whole family cause of some stupid prophacy" mage looked "well it is coming true, not because of some oracle's word but because that bastard attacked for no real reason" Mage fell over and held both raiden and keith tightly "just make sure he doesn't get you or the others too...." she whispered, she didn't intend to lose either of them, they where her family now, as where stryker, fujin and reptile, all family in her mind. There was slight breeze in mage's room, fujin had entered with a stern look "raiden, you told her didn't you" raiden looked up and scowled "She needs to know the truth..." Mage looked at fujin "Don't worry, I am not going on some rampage, I'll get onaga, but it won't consume me, my mom and dad wouldn't have wanted that" she said "Fujin, can the three of us be alone for a while please" said Mage Fujin nodded and vanished, mage looked at keith and raiden "maybe we should just talk a while, the three of us" she said softly "since this could be our last day alive, or together" she said sighing "so who wants to go first" she had more of a brightness in her voice, she wanted to know more about raiden and keith, she sensed there was a reason she connected to both so well

Raiden smiled a moment "there isn't much to tell about me, I am what you see" he said, mage didn't buy it "you have been around since the earth was formed, you have a past like the rest of us" she said "yes, but its nothing you haven't heard before" said Raiden, Mage and keith just looked at each other smirking

while the three in Mage's room talked. Reptile was wandering the halls with stryker "tell me again why we are doing this" snarked stryker "to make sure nothing happens to Mage and keith, since those two are the biggest threat to onaga right now" hissed reptile "besides, I am too edgy to sleep myself" he added, "yeah me too" said stryker as they walked past Mage's door

"Well I know both of you have pasts, so do I, and I want to know more about you both" said mage, looking at the gods "I mean what makes you both tick anyway"

"What only a few people know" Keith nodded his head at Raiden "is that even though I was born in Earthrealm, my family quickly moved to the Netherealm when I was little. On my 6th birthday, we moved to Outworld. From 6-7 we moved from Outworld to Edenia, to the Orderrealm, to the realm of Chaos, back to the Orderrealm, Edenia, Outworld and back to Earthrealm. I am really happy we never had to go back to the nettherrealm. Any way. When I turned 13, my family moved back to Outworld. We lived in a little village. One day, news got around that Shao Kahn's army was in the next town over and marching this way. 14 volenters and I formed a milita. We were cut down quicker that a tree. But I fought on. I had killed over 300 people, when they finally captured me. I was brought before Shao Kahn and I saw my family. He mercilessly killed my family right before me. He was about to drop his hammer on me when I quickly rolled over, kicked the guard breaking his neck, and ran to a portal which brought me to Earthrealm. I've been living in New York City ever since."

Mage looked on surprised "wow, no wonder you wanted kill shao, and its strange that we never met till now, but lived in the same city for years" she smiled, and looked at raiden with some hope in her eyes "I told you everything" said raiden "well I haven't" said Mage "I was born in New york city, and at an early age my parents knew I was special, and helped develop my gift as best as they could, along with my older sister, who gave me my nickname Mage. When I was six, some thugs broke into the apartment we were sharing, at least this is what I was told, they took every valuble we had then slaughtered my mom, dad and sister in their sleep. I was at my uncle's ranch in arizona at the time for a visit. My family wanted to move there for some reason, now I think I know why, they knew the thugs where coming to get them and me. , When my uncle heard the news, they didn't hide it from me, thankfully" Until I was 18, I lived at the ranch, studying some martal arts and practicing with my powers, which where no secret to that little close knit town, heck people wanted to see me show off and others, well, lets just say if they had their way onaga would have to deal with me anymore. On my 18th birlhday I was out with friends and was heading home when I saw a horrific site, the ranch had burned to the ground, no one who was inside survived the fire. I know it was arson but no one could find out who did it or why. I moved back to new york and went to college and did some fighting on the side, still I oftened wondered why someone wanted my family dead so badly"

Mage smiled "May oddly enough", she looked at raiden again "well"

Raiden sighed, "all right I'll talk" he laughed as he began "I am the son of two elder gods, the goddess of war and the god of the sun. They trained me for battle, as all young gods where, but there was more to me then they knew. I was born with a second sight, and I what I saw almost disturbed me to maddness, the invasion of all realms by a dark force. As I grew so did the power of an elder god" Mage listened and guessed the gods name "shinnok right?" "yes" sighed raiden "and no other god was able to defeat him, but he spared their lives for the sake of having slaves. I stood up, the last hope for earthrealm, but at a great price, a budding civilation known as the saurons where forced to zatteria in order for the rest of the world to be protected, a decion I still regret to this day. I became earthrealm's guardian that day, guiding warriors to victory in mortal kombat. I was their teacher, but invevitably, they died in the battles, one such mortal was kung lao" Mage stopped him "wait, I met lao when we were training in the woods" Raiden smiled "lao and kang are decenants of this warrior" he said "But the orginal was killed by the shokan warrior goro" Mage jumped "I remember stryker telling me about that" raiden nodded "five centuries later, kang was able to defeat this evil, but it started our war with shao khan, this has been going on for years, along with a battle against the likes of shinnok" raiden tensed up, something was bothing him "what did he do?" said Mage raiden only whispered "save fujin, he killed my fellow gods" his eyes glowed red a moment and then he fell back, mage looked on in shock

"Oh no! FUJIN!!!!!!!!" There was a gust of wind and he appeared before Keith and Mage. "We have to bring Raiden before the Elder gods right now, or, well, you know what's going to happen. That's go! Mage, I would invite you to help but I don't think the Elder Gods are especially fond of humans."

Mage smiled, raiden sighed "I am not sure, I became an eldergod after a millena of defending earthrealm from all threats, but trust me its not that great, once you are an eldergod, you can not interfear with the lives of mortals or gods, you are mearly a figure head"

Mage laughed "Guess you prefer mortals and gods to eldergod huh?" raiden smiled "I suppose"

Raiden sighed "I guess we should all retire for the match tommorrow" he felt mournful for some reason as he looked at mage and left. "good night guys" mage sighed, she was in heaven, no girl could ask for a better pair of guys, but something told her she might be forced to chose, but she was determined to keep both somehow

Keith zipped to his room. He wanted to give Mage a fair fight but if he uses his powers, even Raiden can't beat him. Also, if he wins, he might lose Mage (or May). He wasn't to exicited to fight her. He wants to win to win the tournament. he wants to lose so she can kill Onaga. He didn't know what to do.

Mage couldn't wait for tomarrow, she wanted to see what keith could do, but she remined herself of one thing "no uppercuts girl, that pisses him off" she thought

Reptile and stryker where wandering the grounds a bit when they saw a movement in the bushes, and heard voices, one male and one female

"you remember what you have to do right" said the woman
"yes, if she wins, kill her before dawn's light" said the male

"no" whispered reptile, stryker cringed "they are gonna off mage if she wins the fight with keith" both ran back to find someone to warn about this

stryker and reptile ran into (literally) fujin first

"LORD FUJIN THEY ARE GOING TO KILL MAGE!" screamed reptile

"reptile calm down, what do you mean?" said fujin in a dire tone

"Me and the lizard heard it, onaga is gonna send assasians after mage if she wins her match tommorrow" said stryker "either she throws the fight or we off the assasians first" he added

"our first step should be to warn both mage and keith" said fujin

"I would add raiden to that, he might be able to do something" said reptile

"stryker, find keith, reptile, go to mage's room, I will tell raiden" said fujin as he vanished, reptile and stryker when off to find the others and tell them what they heard

Stryker ran into Keith's room. "There gonna kill her, you gotta win." "What?" Keith had just been in deep thought about he was gonna win or lose. "Dude, if you lose the fight, they're gonna kill Mage. You have to win. I don't know how but you must." "Where did you see these 'assasins'?" "In the woods past the shrine of the elder gods." "It's gonna be okay, they don't know who their screwing with." Keith wanted Mage to be there when he got to the assasins so she can what he can do. He only hoped they survived long enough for Mage to get there. And just like that, he made himself invisible by making the light bounce off and refract of him, and went on the prowl.

reptile ran to mage's room, mage was doing some training

"MAGE YOUR LIFE IS IN PERIL!" he screamed mage jumped "REP!" she didn't expect reptile to run in screaming like that

"Mage, in the woods me and stryker heard two people talking, they are assasians for onaga, if you win the fight with keith tommorrow you die" reptile stammered, mage fummed "assholes, where are they?"

"by the shrine, follow me" mage and reptile ran to the woods

Fujin and raiden where already looking around "how dare they threaten her like that" raiden growled, he sensed keith in the area but was too distracted, stryker ran up, along with reptile and mage

"where the hell are they" growled Mage "I am so gonna...."

"Mage calm down" said fujin "You need to be at full strength tommorrow" mage scowled "yeah and then what, I bet if I even survive my match with keith they will kill me, onaga wants me dead remember?" reptile started to sniff the air "hmmm I remember one of the scents, tayna, one of shinnok's pets" stryker smirked "sounds more like his bitch" mage slapped him "this is serious"

Raiden's eyes where glowing red as the rest scoured for the assasians, he wanted to rip the killers hearts out, make them suffer for even dreaming of hurting mage, he also knew that keith felt the same way, and smirked at the idea "they don't have a chance" he thought "two gods out for their blood, mage will be safe" he snickered wickedly at the thought

Keith sensed Raiden and the others coming from the south. But he was closer. He heard one person run and he saw the other one. A girl. Tanya. Keith charged out of the brush, still invisible screaming "YOU BITCH" He hit her with a jump kick as she went flying into a tree. Keith made himself visible and started throwing punches and kicks at the speed of light. By the time Raiden and the other's appeared, Tanya was a bloody mess. In the back of there little column, there was a man. Keith had no time to see who it was but he knew it was the other assasin. Keith kept attacking Tanya until she looked like just a pool of blood. Keith summened his light powers and started throwing light energy at her. What the other's didn't realize was that Raiden wasn't the only one with a temper. Keith didn't realize that instead of being all white, he was blacker than the night sky. He threw kicks and punches as everyone watched in amazement. He didn't even know if they knew it was him. Until someone screamed "STOP!!!". Keith looked up.

it was mage, she was pissed "SAVE SOME OF HER FOR ME!" she screamed as she lunged, everyone else began to surround, fujin spoke, "keep her alive, she might know who the other might be"

too late, raiden had found the other killer, houtaro, and threw him into the battle field "So you and your friend dare harm my beloved!" he snarled, his eyes where red, reptile grabbed mage and drug her back "mage stay out of this one, these two gods are pissed" he whispered, mage remembered keith's problem with light and darkness "keith isn't just the god of light" she thought "he is the new god of darkness too, and raiden" she couldn't help but cry a bit but then contained herself and held both gods with a thought "LET ME FINISH THEM" she boomed, too late, tayna and houtaro had some how gotten away, dispite how battered they where

"Damn it!" raiden slammed his fist into the ground, mage ran to raiden and keith and held them both tight "its ok you two, I'm fine" she said "and I think we all need to talk" she looked at her friends "meet me at the arena, we need to figure out what to do next"

Keith had the urge to bolt after them and make them pay, but he knew he can't. They can wait. Keith followed Raiden to the arena. Keith pointed up "Raiden, I need to talk to you." They both flew up into the clouds. "I need your help. Even though we are both gods, I still respect you as the protecter of Earthrealm. Now, tomorow's fight, what do I do?" "Just, do what your heart says. I know I'm here to help but I still give those annoying cryptic messages. You'l get into that habit later." "Alright, now that's see what Mage has to say." Keith and Raiden flew back down to the arena where Mage and the others were waiting. Keith whispered "Those assains will pay."

Mage saw keith and raiden fly down, mage ran to them

"guys, I want to talk to you two alone first" she said softly "one, I don't want either of you to leave my side right now, I don't want either of those thugs getting near me before my match with keith or after." she said "and also I am worried about you both" she sighed "I know this sounds odd but it looks like you two can't handle your darker sides" she took each of them by the hand and smiled "you understand what I mean?"
