The MK Characters always lost, so why not make it so that they win in that style of movie.

Why not tag on the MK Fan's version of the MK Vs Sf movies that were made..

Now THAT'S inspired.
The only idea in here I like besides ]{ombat's.
Develop a story, each author gets to animate one battle/scene.

THEN LETS DO IT!!! I just wanna make it already. I like the idea too.
So MK VS SF where MK wins???

We should start with Scorpion in the Netherealm screaming because he failed to defeat Ryu, on his knees and still reforming from the last battle in which he was supposedly killed. While he's pounding the ground, Chameleon comes crashing through the pillars into the floor of the Netherrealm.
More as I think of it.

Haha Since I came up with the Idea, would I be able to help with the story?

I think we should make up an entirly new story involving SF and MK fighting. I don't think we should use that dudes idea.

Each part of the movie has to be related in some way. Look, i'll think of a plot for the story, then i'll come back here and post it. You guys pick which parts of the story you want to animate. Once one person is finished with their part, they send it to the next person and that person works off of what they did. You don't animate until the person before you is done. If everybody just goes off animating thier part it will all turn out messed up.
And with that...I'm signing off.
Not necessarily if you outline the plot in enough detail. Then everybody could animate their part and give it to you to string together. Would save time otherwise this could go on all year.
If there are a few ideas confused then you can suggest extra scenes to make to tie it all together.
Anyhoo, whatever, just get a decent plot first
I agree that Ninja_Arts should get a say so in the plot as he was good enough to contribute the idea in the first place.

I don't wanna take that guy's idea completely, but I do feel that MK Fans were kinda ousted and we should kind of subtly hint in these animations that those that he made, happened in the past.
Also, he did say the ones he did were his last, and following up on an idea wouldn't be ripping him off, if anything it'd be paying homage and whatnot.
However, I do think we should open up with something different than the stupid random portal.

Thanks Tim...

Okay how about...

Characters like Noob and whatnot, the darker side of the spectrum should be doing this. Similar to that scene in MKA where Shinnok, Onaga, Shao and Shang are meeting up.

So this is what I have so far based on that... Shinnok is currently trying to escape the Netherrealm once more, He's created a make shift amulet that will void the various dimensions and spells that bind him to Hell. Shinnok, however, can't do it alone because he doesn't have enough power, nor does he have a guinea pig to go through the rift first. Shinnok recruits several warriors, all of which are to carry out his cause as his pawns, and all of which are offered something that is just beyond the hole.

Bingo, there's our concept idea.

But we're using sprites. Shinnok doesn't have any sprites since he isn't in MK1-3

I would ask Artic to just use one of his custom Shinnok Sprites, and if he gives you permission use him in just one scene telling the story...Have him narrate the events.
Then you'd only need one sprite. Simple
However, if Shinnok is trying to merge these two realms you'd suspect he's working with somebody equally as evil on the other side as well....

Not completely true his MK Mythologies Sprites are 2d but they are nearly impossible to find and i havent gotten far enough in MK Mythologies to to rip them myself but we could ask around MKO.

Perhaps we could have Shinnok in his throne in the Netherealm, plotting his plan. Trying to figure out who he should use and how he should use them. We could do this non canon, so we could use more twists and turns.
