You might be assuming that the site is more active than it really is. Temporarily placing an advertisement for the FPK on the front page of the site likely wouldn't have generated much more voter traffic than the current attempt to draw in voters has. Placing blame on Mick and CCShadow for attempting to help isn't exactly appropriate in this situation.

Frankly, we all dropped the ball in terms of generating more voter traffic. You, I, or anyone else could have enlisted social media friends to vote in an unbiased manner. I considered it, but never followed through.

Yeah, it sucks that the site isn't bustling with activity as it once was. In spite of that, I can appreciate that the industry is still alive with a handful of talented artists providing inspiration to those who might be interested in or are currently investing time into it. You, fedegita, blacksaibot, and I have boatloads of talent and experience in this art form. Can't we be the ones breathing life into not only this art form but this section of the site? I enjoy seeing new fake picture submissions and this most recent FPK has rekindled my interest in creating pieces of my own.

So, maybe learn to appreciate the little things in life. There's no sense in being bitter about something as trivial (in the grand scheme of things) as a fake picture contest, bro.

While I agree MKO did do a good job promoting the FPK internally with the top sticky and in-your-face header link in the Kreations portal, the problem is this forum is pretty much dead, site revamp or not as Illusion stated. I look down past the swamp of now-useless stickies and all I see is my avatar for 4 threads or so, followed by a ton of spam and some vet posts from Illusion and BS. I mean I'm trying to put out some quality work, not spam the place! I don't see why MKO couldn't post a news article about this FPK or at least tweet that voting has started. They tweeted when registration began and I believe it drove a ton of interest to the kontest at first given their 57k followers. This is a fan site afterall and us fake artists may be the biggest fans of them all here so it would benefit both parties to promote these kontests. @CCShadow @Mick-Lucifer

A few small things that could really enhance the state of the fan art section and forum:

• Get rid of the really old and useless stickies! They just serve to clutter the space.
  • BlackSaibot recently added fake editing tutorials. Those should be sticked in its own thread instead of old topics like "Request" and "background resource", etc.
• MKO was tweeting out and showcasing select works of art in the Kreations database but stopped. Why? Keep it going!
• Bring back Staff picks.
• Promote a moderator to specialize in the Kreations forum that can coordinate kontests/activities and the like.
• Tighten the Kreations approval process and remove threads and bumps that are spam or troll like. Again, the above would serve to clean up the forum tremendously, make it more streamlined, and user friendly for vets and newbies alike.

I'm all for someone moderating the activity here. Do we have any volunteers?

A couple years ago I would have loved a moderator position in this forum but my time is quite scarce nowadays even though I've been outputting a lot of fan art lately. When I'm in the office on certain days I have more time to post here. I think this position should be vetted to those with experience on MKO, particularly vets that frequent this board. If no one else qualified wants it I'll take it.

True but you never know. It might pick up steam again leading up to the newly announced movie or a new game announcement from NRS. Maybe there will be a resurgence of old timers on this forum when that happens. If so I want to get this board back in shape so I’ll take the moderator position if it’s on the table @Scott-Howell

I think you'd make a better mod than me. I've got sooooo much stuff coming down the pipe line in terms of my career and going back to school. I'm not even putting my family into the equation yet. So yeah...

I'm sorry. I was real jazzed about the contest, but lost motivation after not being able to get computer time. I've been surfing the net on my PS4, and typing is tedious. I prefer notepad to straighten out complex thoughts before posting. But yeah, some complicated real life stuff going on too. So frustrating.
