So I was in the city doing some work for my school, when I happened upon the local Arcade. As you know I like Mortal Kombat! So they had a Mortal Kombat 1 Arcade Machine at the place. Now I have never had a chance to play the real MK1 in the arcade. Call me a Fire, but I was Stoked! So I decided to play it. . .like there was much decision, its Mortal Kombat for goodness sake!

After about an hour of play I throw down Goro on a second try. So now here I am, face to face with Shang Tsung (the boss of the game) When this tall but scrawny black dude comes up and presses the second player button. So now I have to fight him. If I lose the fight with him then I lose the whole game, however if I win then I can continue on to the final boss and beat the arcade game. So I’m freaking out, my hands are shaking a bit.

Now I have been playing Mortal Kombat since 1992. Thank goodness for it too, because I kicked this guys ass in the game. With my newly concord foe watching me, I go on to face Shang Tsung for a second time. I demolished the Demon Wizard and show him the true wrath of Scorpion (the character I was playing as). I gladly watch the ending credits then turn to my rival gamer and ask him if he wants to try again. He looks at me like I’m crazy and politely decline with a laugh as to say. . . “you’re too good for me, man”.

That was nice!!!

Um... I kicked my uncle's ass on MK2 in an arcade place. He was the best there...

All I did was press random buttons. Then I beat Shao Kahn.

Of course, this game was actually an SNES game in which the arcade place would attach those old systems to play their games. My Uncle was embarrassed.

I, on the other hand, didn't care back then. I just kept playing and winning. Soon, I played MK3 and won. Then I played MKG. Won. MKDA came out, my winning Streak was over. Note that Only MK2 and MK3 were at that arcade. It was kind of funny to beat my uncle and see him get embarrassed. MKD I still didn't win all. MKG-MKA was home stuff. UMK3 and Trilogy, and those in between games I don't count. I just count them with the other games.

Hmmm, well the only MK arcades I've ever seen IRL are of UMK3 and MK4, there's not a lot around here. I used to play UMK3 some at my local movie rental place...

I had never played MK4 yet when I was younger, and saw a MK4 arcade machine in the mall and had to play it. I had picked Sub-Zero and I was pretty amazed at the time.

I've also found a UMK3 machine at the beach once and played it.

At my technical college though, they have a UMK3 machine in the cafeteria which is pretty awesome. I've only seen a couple people play it one time before. I've played it a couple times, but don't really feel like playing it that much, it costs 50 cents for one credit, and I'm so terrible with a joystick I can't beat the first opponent. It's also infront of a big window during daytime, so it's hard to see anything with all the glare. XD

Control pad/keyboards FTW
