It may be a tad obvious, but I think 'X' would work really well. It's simple but effective. And it doesn't just have to mean '10.'

Mortal Kombat 2 will work just fine.

If not, I'll take Mortal Kombat Xrossroads.

I support the MK X (blades crossed) idea, best, especially since MK 2011 can't really be called "MK9". Think about it; MK vs. DC wasn't a part of the official timeline, and MK 2011 took place right after MKA, so calling it MK9 would not make sense.

Another reason I support MK X is because X could be read as chi (the Greek letter resembling an X), which could tie into the Chinese definition of chi (aka, energy, spirit, etc.). Make the tagline a paraphrase of Raiden's "Mortal Kombat is not about death, but life" line from the movie, and you've got an extremely meta but very appropriate title that could set the tone for the entire game (assuming it'll be a remake of MK4, as the ending to MK 2011's story mode seems to indicate).

I said it in the other thread that's going on in the Future discussion, just ditch the numbers. But because people seem pretty intelligent in this thread and not acting like a five year old, I'll explain myself.

Why go back to numbering the game after you stopped after Deadly Alliance? (If you count the big V in the logo, otherwise, they stopped at four) Why start up the number system after you made the game titled "Mortal Kombat?" Are we going to start numbering it again and call it ten? But wait a minute, what about all those people that started to get into the series with this game? So, Mortal Kombat 2011 has no number, but we're to expect it to be the ninth game, but then what's the next one? Mortal Kombat 2? Oh but wait, we already have that! We could call it Mortal Kombat 2, and refer to the new one as the "latest" Mortal Kombat 2 and the other one as the "original." But people would complain and not enjoy it.

So what do we do? It's like Rocky. Rocky 1-5 were numbered, then Rocky Balboa came along. IF, and only if, they were to make another, what the hell would they call it? Rocky 7 or Rocky Balboa 2? The fuck would you do?

You basically screwed up the titles because you stopped numbering them... In my opinion, just leave the numbers out of the titles from now on and just call it something else... with Mortal Kombat in the title of course.

My favorite is the Rambo movies.

In order, they're named "First Blood", "Rambo: First Blood Part 2", "Rambo 2", and "Rambo". Figure that shit out.

Same goes with Final Fantasy, a few Jackie Chan movies. It is quite ridiculous. I just say ditch the numbers if you can't number your series right.
