Some 10 months ago, the world first gained knowledge of the ninth game in the groundbreaking and influential Mortal Kombat series. In early June, the game debuted with a trailer shortly after the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth film pitch by Kevin Tanchaeron on Youtube. The game that would later come to be known as simply "Mortal Kombat" would have its first public appearance less than a week later at the annual E3 gaming convention.

From Gamescom to PAX, the game made the rounds and silenced critics of the series worldwide as players began to take true notice of the series as a legitimate fighter with a deep engine. The game was so impressive that it managed to secure a spot at the annual EVO tournament, the largest fighting game genre live tournament in the world, months before its release. Countless Mortal Monday and Fatality Friday releases later, a plethora of elements from the game have been revealed to players, including most of the roster, arenas and fatalities. But the real fun has yet to be had.

Today, we celebrate the near year of coverage of the game. We implore everyone to head out and pick the game up, or wait at home on your pre-orders, and enjoy this game it its fullest. We'd like to extend a thank you to all our dedicated users and frequent visitors for making us your stop for Mortal Kombat news. We hope everyone enjoys the game. FIGHT!
