Reptile's cool, one of the few ninjas that should stay.............

In MK1 he was a secret character that's so hard to find people still think its a rumor that he's in the game.

MK2 gave him his own true character, and personally i thought he was weak in this game. Still, he had awesome fatalities, and a cool look. Also, cool specials.

MK3 didn't give him technically a new look per se, but it up graded his MK2 look so it looked more refined. His story is much better imo in MK3 than 2, and his fatalties imo sucked more in MK3.

MK4 gave him a truly new look, and personally now i think it looks cool. His storyline is great in MK4, imo the best of the first mk games. His fatalties were good in this game, and had cool alt costumes.

MKDA gave him a new look, but personally i hate it. Don't ask why, it just dosen't appeal to me. His fatality is cool in this game, and he plays pretty well in this game.

MKSM gave him a new look, one of my favorites actually. Nothing else really important to his story happened in MKSM, though.

MKA didn't change much, but it did give him his SM look, so i was happy.

All in all, Reptile's one of the best ninjas, but imo Ermac is better.

AN OFFICIAL CHARACTER THREAD. These damn "Official [insert character] Thread!!11!!" threads are getting annoying.

That's your opinions, guys but I'd like to see him in MK8 with a ninja outfit plus a non-ninja outfit as alternate costume.
And also with these special moves.

Acid spit, Fast force ball, invisibility, super crawl sending the opponent in the air (leaving him/her open to a juggle combo) and a poison bolt that stops your opponent's attacks (same effects as Smoke's black cloud) but it should be done as this: Reptile thows or spits a poison bolt to the ground, then it explodes into an average poison cloud.

His best outfit is the one from UMK3/MKT.
non ninja outfit: MK4

I like reptile. Of coarse i like all the ninjas except smoke. Noob cool but his style is crap. Anyways i like his half lizard half man costumes like mk4 and his main in mka. Um i like his acid spit two. I think he'll be in future mk games because of boon or someone saying the saurians will be restored or something.

Reptile is my second favorite male ninja, after Sub-Zero.

I mostly like him when he was a human, though, cuz then he was able to peel off his human face and reveal a reptilian face behind it, which was super cool.

I liked him best in UMK3 because of his moves and fatalities. My fav fatality from him is his Acid one because of how it made the victim look, all melted and skeletal.

I hate how ever since MK4 they've started making him look more creature-like because it just makes him look silly, especially how he looked in Deadly Alliance. That was his worst look ever.

One things I've been wanting from Reptile is a special move that used his tongue. His Tongue fatality is also cool, so I wish they would have made a tongue special move inspired by that, but oh well. Maybe later if he returns in the future.

Reptile is one of my favorite character besides Sub-Zero

Reptile is alright and I do enjoy using him. His MKDA form is his best look yet imo followed by his MKSM one.

I could say Reptile has a common thing with Scorpion:

They both are tragic characters but Scorpion doesn't need any master.
What can't be forgiven about Reptile is the fact he's never paid back for his loyalties.

Back to his loyalties with Shao Kahn:
Reptile probably knows Shao Kahn killed his race but why did he trust the emperor? How did Shao Kahn convince him? He was sent to kill Kitana but failed and was banished to the kobolds mine by Sindel.
After that he joined Shinnok but he also could'nt see his dream fulfilling.
And in MKDA, he returned to Shao Kahn's side but joined the vampire Nitara who saw him as her personnal bitch but it looked liked Reptile was no more under any influence as he hunted down Nitara and Cyrax but the Dragon king took possession of his body. We still don't have his MKA bio but I guess he still wants revenge against Nitara. It's also possible he finally joins Khameleon. Anyway, if his goal his still not reach after MKA, I hope to see him back in MK8.
Another question:
How did he become so reptilian again?
Is it due to the fact he wandered the realms after MK4?

he became so reptilian because he's been away from the monarchy(or whatever it's called, the Saurian leader) so long.

He's alright, one of the coolest ninjas and assassins in the series for sure. His story has definitely taken some interesting turns.

You know, legend_armlet, I always thought that Reptile's relationship with Nitara as a pet (a scaly, reptilian, puppy if you will.) and it's (Patriotic, vampiric) master. The only reason she ditched him was because her Vaternan (Vampiric) patriotism was a bigger priority than looking after Reptile. I never considered Nitara "his bitch" as you put it.

I meant Nitara saw in Reptile a guy she can use as her pawn.
After all, Reptile has considered this a betrayal and he wanted her and Cyarx to pay.

A part of me agrees with that.

People complain about threads they don't like just so they can sneak in a post somewhere. If they don't like the thread, no one is making them post in it. And I bet the same people wouldn't take it too lightly if someone critizied their thread in the same way.


Reptile is a wierd character for me. I don't think he really counts as a ninja now due to it being so long since Zaterra was an independant realm that he has lost his humanoid appearance now and just looks wierd.

I have also never really warmed up to his style but I have warmed up to the character. I am impressed at his character development, being a fusion of Scorpion and Sub Zero palette swaps in the first game and named Reptile simply because of his colour. Serving pretty much all the main bad guys in the game thus not showing he is an evil character out to do injustice but more of a neutral character in for his own personal safety and gain.

I hope him and Khameleon get jiggy with it

Reptile is the greatest! He's my all-time favorite, no matter what. I just wish he didn't have it so hard, you know? He's always getting mistreated by somebody. He does his best to do everything Shao Kahn and all the other assholes want him to do, and yet he gets nothing for it. Yeah. That's bullshit.
Anyway....Costume design. love the original ninja outfit on MK1, 2, and UMK3 and Trilogy. Not too big on the MK4/Gold costume, but it's okay. The Deadly Alliance appearance was...eh.....well it was okay, but....jeez. I like the human-ish form better. The Armageddon design for him was pretty awesome. Did you see his ending? Maybe on the next one he'll finally have his human form back. That would rock my sox off. Also, the whole thing with Nitara....meh....I like Nitara, even though she was a major bitch to Reptile. Maybe someday they'll get along. Hopefully ;) Oh yeah and I agree with you dude, about the offspring of Reptile and Nitara. That WOULD be interesting to see lol.

I really wish they would release his bio, too.....oh well. Good things come to those who wait, as Spike Spiegel would say.
Anyway....yeah. Reptile is the best!!! ^___^

cha, major. I was thinking about that a while ago, and that would be awesome. Reptile and Khameleon would be a good pairing. They could be like the new rulers of Zaterra and whatnot ;). I don't know if there's much possibility of it actually happening though, cause let's face it, people like Reptile usually get the crust of the pizza when it comes to the plot of the games, no matter how hard they try, or in Reptile's case, how wickedawesome they are. kinda like people like me gettng stuck with the crust of the pizza of life. except i'm not wickedawesome. especially nowhere near as much as Reptile hehe.
