So I'm sure that some of you are going to the movies tonight and hoping to get a look at the newest summer Blockbuster movie out there that isn't filled with wizards, or spandex wearing superheros. Let me tell you something right now, this movie blows chunks. I swear sitting in that theater and having to watch that garbage for 2 and a half fucking hours was pretty bad. The movie moves slower than hell and there's absolutely nothing there to impress anybody. Hollywood can't keep relying on CGI for their entire life, and honestly, I expected much better from the guys at ILM. I mean honestly, what the hell?

Nothing is ever explained in the movie and it leaves you wanting more than just your money and 2 and a half hours of your life back. What a disappointment....

Okay, I'm just BSing all of that. The movie rocks. The robots look awesome and have great personality. The CGI is done to the point where it looks as um...real(?) as a giant sentient robot from space can get.

Peter Cullen reprises his roll as Optimus Prime with full marks and really gets back into character even after 21 years of giving his roll up to Gary Chalk.

Hugo Weaving delivers as Megatron as well. If you look at the character, and try to picture how he would sound like, then I guarantee you it comes through with full force. His alien form has that kind of raw savage taste that would come with a voice like that. And while the original voice actor isn't used, I can't see how somebody like Megatron would have a voice like the original to begin with.

Shia LeBeouf does a great job as playing the youth Sam Witwicky in the movie, opposite Megan Fox as his love interest.

Just because the movie doesn't have a very strong story line, at least nothing too awe inspiring, that doesn't the movie doesn't have any character and is just a simple dry spell just spattered with pretty eye candy. There are parts that will definitely make you laugh out loud and you definitely start to feel for the characters. Each of the Autobots has their own distinct personality, as well as some of the Decepticons as well. Frenzy especially is a character that fans might enjoy.

So all in all, it's definitely worth the price of admission. And at least for me, it's ruined the rest of the summer because of how high it set the bar for a blockbuster.

I've enjoyed it, and I'm sure a lot of the fans will as well.

I heard differently with other reviews, I'm going to be my own judge I never listen to other critics but thanks for the info. I heard it was doing well in europe.

BTW, allow me to point something out. Actually, Gary Chalk is the one that had to live up to Peter Cullen since he is afterall the original Optimus, not Chalk. Not the other way around.

Don't get me wrong, Chalk is a great descendent of Optimus Prime but Cullen was the very first and original Optimus. There's a lot of people that aren't even aware of who Gary Chalk or David Kaye are unless you're a huge Transformer follower with the voice actors.

Most fans WANTED Cullen back and nobody else to play Optimus, I was disappointed that they chose Weaving over Welker.

Welker's voice really doesn't fit Megatron's image. Not in this movie.

i can't wait for this to come out here. Has anyone played the game at all?
Ok heres my full review.

Overall i enjoyed the movie, worth the money and awesome action, this is Bays specialty. Also the comedy was sweet and funny, i think Shia is a sweet character with lots of charm and the chemistry with the hot (and i mean bullshit hot! grin Megan Fox is really cool.

For a commercial major hollywood moive this is very good. But at the end of the day i really did have an empty spot in me since im a big transformers fan especially Beast Wars. Here we go......

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

The main beef i had is the fact that the transformers themselves were not developed no way near enough. Ask any TF fan and they will tell you the compelling characters are what made the show. I felt no emotion for any of them, and this is Bays flaw, he cannot create believable characters. Dont get me wrong half of this is becuase their are dam humans in this movie so they gotta take up screen time.

Like most people i didnt like the looks of the transformers themselves. I mean is it really that wrong to just recreate the original characters' looks from the series?

The story was average, nothing special but it could of been worse.

So yea at the end of the day this is about the TF's themselves not humans, make the TF's the centerpiece of the film and develop them and the next film will be better in my eyes for sure.
James Cameron would own this film, i wanna c him direct a live action Beast Wars movie, yea thats right you heard me sucker!

Oh yea did i mention Megan Fox is hot in this movietongue

The TF personalities were developed as much as they needed to be for the point of the film. Sure, the other bots, aside from Prime/Megs/Bumblebee (and Frenzy, who was just hilarious) could've used more, but overall, I think they did a good enough job.

I did notice a continuity error in regards to the Transformers speaking English.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Prime explains that the TFs used the internet to learn the language/culture/etc. However, Megatron, who's been frozen for well over a thousand years, immediately knows how to speak English when he thaws out.

Ehh, but he's the original voice actor for him so when I heard that Hugo was playing him I was a bit disappointed but at least Welker does the voicework for Megatron in the game.

I heard the game is ehh 50/50 some liked it others say it's bad.

But yeah, hopefully tomorrow I'll see this if my job gets rained out since I work outside or I'll see it thursday.

Well, they did say that they had used the technology from megatron to create modern technology, so at some point, the systems must have been integrated to translate Cybertronian to English. And Megatron was only frozen for 100 years, the Cube was the one that was here for thousands.

Overall, it was better than I thought it would be, but I wouldn't say it was a blockbuster. It was just typical Michael Bay with his frequent, huge explosions. I agree that the transformers looked horrible, they were too machine-like in features, Bumblebee was the only one you could get emotion from. Another thing, the product placement was so blatantly obvious, it was shameful. I understand that it was one of, if not THE most expensive movies ever and that needs to be paid for, but come on.

I give it a 6/10

Dunno, it was pretty clear to me that Prime's character was VERY well defined as the leader keeping the others in line and having the sympathy for the human race, Ratchet seemed quite the grizzled doctor-warrior, Ironhide was the trigger-happy vet, and Jazz being the sleek showoff he is known for.

At least that's what I got from it.

I second that. Acctaully I think shes my new GF. I'm gonna have to beat the crap out of Brian Austin Green and take her from him grin!

Bit fo a spoiler, but you gotta love the car scene with her and Shia where she refuses to sit in the driver seat, so he suggests she sits on his lap grin!

Cutscenes for Autobots and Decepticons from the movie based game. Plot is significantly different in small aspects, but the overall issue is the same. Kinda like TF the movie 2.0

Dude here you go:

Transformers 15 Disk Box Set

Transformers Limited Edition 25 Disk Box set

I'm actually a little unsure which one to get myself, but I just had to go out and get the old Animated Movie yesterday. Just doesn't seem the same really after seeing the live action movie now though.

Just saw it last night I must say AWESOME movie!!

I really don't see any hardcore complaints about this movie storywise, special effect wise and acting wise.

My friends only complaint was that at certain fighting sequences(like spiderman fighting ones) are at times blur effects like a tire rolling by or a piece of metal therefore you really can't see the fight too well.

Then again, we were stuck in the second roll to the right which sucked and the screen was literally like 10 feet or less from our sight so I'm sure that didn't help.

All in all it was a great film IMO, definitely one of the best of the summer and better then Spider-man 3 for sure.

This movie was straight out awesome! It made my list of one the best movies ever. Not only because it was intense, but because they give the Camaro credit where credit is due! (I am a proud owner.) That's probably why I liked it so much. But seriously, it is a great movie in my opinion and it's worth the price of admission.

I thought the movie was awesome(especially the song they used for the end credits) but the only thing I didn't like was how they mixed Hugo Weaving's voice for Megatron...it just sounded....fake. I admit to have never seen an episode of the original TF series, but from clips of it that I've seen online as well as some of the dialog in the movie-based game, I'd gladly have taken Welker over Weaving for Megatron. Hell even the guy who covered as Megatron from Beast wars to Cybertron would've done better.
