Long ago, a prophecy was told of the Great War, between the Moderators and the n00bs that would decide the outcome of MKO's Future. But somehow this never came to be. Why?

Coltess was banned prematurely before he could begin recruiting his armies. Heroes who were told to change the course of the war left or were banned. (ex: Libra, Nemesis, Ninja_mime, etc.) The forum's changed, and an increasing amount of n00bs began to over-populate MKO ever since the beging of MKA-Insanity.

Since the Prophecy foretold never came to be, MKO's destiny is to cease to exsist. We are all doomed...No matter how strong your will to survive is, no matter how strong your pimp hand is, nothing can stop the inevitable...

Nothing changed; onward as usual.

The site is 9 years old this year; noobs have existed since the beginning of this site, and the internet itself. There have certainly been worse times and more noobs than there are right now; you all ought to feel more fortunate than you seem to. People come, and people will go. That is the essence of all life, including online life.

As for 'noobs,' everyone who is on the internet has been a 'noob' at one point so I just ignore the anti-noob rhetoric. With out new members replacing those who no longer show up this site will eventually close down. I don't see the moderators or site managers wanting to waste time and/or money on something that no one visits. Besides without new members there can not be new ideas or opinions. Only the same old flame wars on which character is best and which should come back in the next game.

Personally I see MKO growing and changing as long as Midway keeps making Mortal Kombat games and there are fans (new and old) who like to debate on why their fav character is the best.
