Canon to an extent?

Just one wonderment.
The said that the game itself isn't going to be canon, but the characters history will.
Does that mean we will get Zombie Liu?
Cause his last canon appearance, he was zombie still!
I hope not, they better sum it up somehow.

I would hope that this game would be made assuming that the events of MKA occured and affected the given characters, but it doesn't seem like their going with that direction.
Still, I have a feeling that Liu will be human. I've never treated Liu Kang and Zombie Liu as the same character. Zombie Liu is a possibility, but with the fan reaction, I don't think he'll return in any installment of MK.
My guess is that even though this game isn't canon, this game will take place at least chronologically last (read: after MKA).

I would not be sad if I never saw the word canon on this site ever again.
It means that just because the story isn’t canon, it doesn’t mean that certain aspects of the characters such as their overall essence, isn’t canon at all.
Like MKSM, there are some NOT CANON events such as many of the bosses deaths, but just because those things aren’t canon, it doesn’t mean that things like The Shaolin Monks temple being attacked, or Liu, Sonya, Johnny and Kung Lao getting medals isn’t real or part of the essence of how they view or see the characters.

Well when Hector described Liu Kang he said stuff like "Main hero" and 'Champon of Mortal Kombat." Since Zombi Liu was neither I would say that pretty much confirms that he's human.

Even though the game isn't a sequel to MKA,somewhere they have to tell us when this does happen between MK1game and MKA.Since it has the graveyard I am betting its after MK3but before MK4,yeah that sounds about right from what characters appear so far.

Well, perhaps. But is that really Liu Kang? I mean, it may say 'Liu Kang' on the life bar, but if I remove a character's consciousness and makes his actions casually related to an entirely different source, haven't I just created a different character?
