Drinking and Smoking is something to do when life gets boring.In my opinion living a shorter and funner life is better then living a long and *stay healthy life*.I don't want to turn old and live in a nursery home by myself when I get old.So have fun while you are you are young. Prison, loss of prom. I feel like these people could be smarter upon their actions. I take risks, but I mean nothing with such dire consequences unless I am fairly sure I won't get caught. It's less of a risk, less exciting, but it doesn't mean that it's dull.

Getting wasted is fun regardless of how old you are, so why are they stupid? Because they got caught? To paraphrase Kieth Richards, they don't have a problem with drugs, they have a problem with the law.

I mean why wouldn't you upload pictures of you having a good time to your facebook page? If kids should be worried that teachers are going to find out what extracurricular activities they get up to because teachers are fucking STALKING their students online then a kid not going to prom should be the least of everyone's worries here.

While I don't necessarily think underage drinking is a good thing, I firmly believe schools should NOT have the power to punish students for things they have done off of school grounds and/or outside of school hours.

I think of it like this; drinking underage and getting drunk are two completely different things, and from what I gather, you have a problem with them getting drunk.
Some people are too dense to get the message because to them, the whole point of drinking is to feel drunk, like a moron and feel accepted because everyone is doing it. It's only later on that people start deciding that just getting the buzz while in good company is enough.

I got to agree with Erik here, there's being exciting and taking risks, and doing something completely stupid. For example, it's pretty exciting driving around when buzzed; does that mean we should encourage drunk/stoned driving? Drinking with friends is great; does that have to include getting smashed, going unconscious and puking in your sleep? Not at all. I've done a lot of stupid, adventurous, risky things, and I've yet to do time, so does that make me any less exciting or risky than the guy who was hauled into a cell for being shit-faced and flipping off a cop?

I have to agree with this point as well; it's not the teacher's business what a student does when the teacher is not around (notice I didn't say anything about the activities being within the school, because a teacher can and should intervene if a student is doing something stupid, even if off school grounds).
Before anyone says, "they shouldn't because they aren't in the school," you'd be surprised at how many administrators, parents, and other teachers, would say otherwise and probably hold them responsible for not intervening.
What I have to ask is, considering students can modify their privacy settings and friend list, how would a teacher get a hold of these pictures of drunk students in the first place for it to be a concern? I'd never add any of my (former) students to Facebook as long as they were in high school.

Underage anything is just stupid....especially drinking, unless they're supervised(ha, ha like that happens anymore) it's really just not a wise thing to do. I've seen quite a few situations personally where underage drinking leads to all kinds of shit.

I'll never forget this one time I was hanging with my best friend in junior high and we played some baseball and football then went into the woods, they had liquor and his GF drank half the bottle for the first time, then she flipped out literally. Started freaking out and thinking the tree was chasing her lol....

Another time in H.S. this guy was drunk and high....had to be escorted to the nurses office because he was let's just say out of commission. He flipped out then nearly passed out before that though.


On a personal note, I don't think getting hammered is fun...if you want or like feeling like shit soon after, sure tons of fun. I have plenty of fun well without drinking, drugs or any of that shit that ultimately is bad for you anyway.

You know last year the play boy teacher mr. julian, he works at my school and now my bros school since i moved schools in 6th grade last year and still does and it is stupid.

There's a certain miserable romantic charm to being hungover. It gives you an excuse to walk around in dark glasses telling everybody to shut the fuck up and stop making so much noise. Nothing makes you appreciate simple things such as silence and chips like a good old fashioned hangover tbh.

It's a purely psychological thing. Boomboom does it through selective association. He wanted to. You don't do it and neither do your friends. That's why your friends with them. People are friends and do things they find fun with other people who like the samething.

DARE and abstinence programs are garbage. They don't lower the rates of drugs or adolescent sex. Peer pressure has not much to do with trying drugs and being sexually active. In fact peer pressure can be beneficial. Also doesn't help that our culture is garbage at teaching safe sex and "responsible" (oxymoron coming I know) but pot and alchool use. Our culture sucks when it comes to drinking, absolutely shit. Other nations and people are smart enough to teach kids about alchool, how it's ok in moderation and don't make it at a ridiculous age to have it. But here in the good ol USA, we like to binge drink and feel like shit the next day instead of having a few drinks and having a good social time.

On teachers looking at a kids picture, that is wrong but an employeer is not. It's their right to know who they are hiring and whether or not you'd be a good employee and a law abiding one. It's fair game when your an adult.

Back on topic. So don't care about the douchebaggery of your peers but laugh at them for being stupid and not able to handle alchool. Get use to it because that's college and I see it all the time on my campus.

And as for the abstinence programs... They suck worse. They told us that we shouldn't kiss our girlfriends or boyfriends... That giving a kiss was too far.

There's a big difference between experimentation and full on substance abuse. Experimentation is fine and all if your responsible about trying pot and trying alchool but if you become a full on addict popping pills, coke and an alchoolic, etc., you need to re-evaluate your life and situation.

Granted, I don't smoke pot, I don't drink too often and when I do I do it in moderation and get full on loaded but I have my own reasons. I don't hate people who drink underage or might smoke pot ocasionally or cigarettes ( I've done all 3 before) but it's how some people act is what pisses me off. It's not everyone who acts like a total douche or preppy look at me I'm a cool dude/wanna-be hippy, granted it's a heavy majority but still not everyone is like that. Just something you have to tolerate with.

But like I said, if you don't like it and want nothing to do with it, then stay the away from it and shun the people that act like arses.

One time when I drank enough to feel it, I felt sick to my stomach and my head fucked up. So I can't and don't want to imagine getting hammered....but my friends have in front of me plenty of times. They either passed out or get sick(or both lol)

Then you're gonna move away to college, then you yourself will get sucked into a partying lifestyle because in college it's 100x worse. You will probably end up on academic probation because you party too much or get kicked out while all the people who partied in high school are doing great in classes because they're used to balancing partying and studying. I've seen it happen a million times. If not then good for you, but just to let you know underage drinking has become so normal that I'd be suprised to find a high school where less then 3/4 of students didn't drink.

I was hospitalized for acute alcohol intoxication, but I feel like it was more like the cops being asses and trying to get me to reform my life. I was absolutely wasted, but I mean if I would have been in a house like where I was drinking instead of being brought outside by some douchebag, I would have been fine. I didn't have to have my stomach pumped or anything.



I feel like eleven is too young to fuck, and thirteen is too young to smoke, but hey that's just my opinion. After you drink enough beer, you won't find it to be so bad.
