Thanks for the information on the Conquest website, I will definitely check it out. It's quite unfortunate that there isn't any known recording of the live tour. The promo shots of the tour from at least one video clip that showed an audience present led me to believe they had filmed at least one show but merely never commercially released it.
I also noticed in the merchandise section of the MK Live Tour book, there was a listing of a video tape. I am now inclined to believe it was for the theatrical film.

Regarding your inquiry about the DirecTV special, is it possible that the Midway history webpage may have been referring to TNT's documentary and was merely vague in the description of the special?

Also, I was wondering if the ISO for the ultimate MK cd-rom was still available? The hosted file you posted last year appears to be missing.

Again, many thanks for all that you do and keep up the great work!

Goro,

A friend of mine bought the new MK game (2011) and told about
some bonuses material of both movies and some deleted scenes
of 'Annhilation': Mileena walking on the desert, and Kitana and Jade
talking before reuiniting with Sindel. Such scenes weren't seen in
the movie. And I heard about a international DVD realise of MK:A wich contains more deleted scenes. The ony info I got about this is "It doesn't help the movie". Have you ever heard about this?

Titan,

I have been reading of some deleted scenes. It's likely small cuts if they're not helping the movie. I have asked some of my friends if they know anything about this but a google search has revealed there are some deleted scenes somewhere on foreign DVDs.

The ONLY deleted scene I am aware of on the Annihilation DVD (U.S. version) is the Easter egg. You can watch the scene here: Go to special features and hit enter. On the remote press up and "Reptiles" eye should highlight, hit enter and it should take you to a game to save Princess Kitana. The answer to solve the puzzle is left, right, down, up. Then you will be take to a scene from the movie where Lou is fighting Baraka and free's Princess Kitana and they escape together after Shiva is squashed. The easiest way to get to this easter egg is using your DVD navigation tools menu (it can be called Tools on the remote) and jump to Title 2, Chapter 10.

You may review this site but it seems to not be helpful in whether it has deleted scenes or not from Annihilation: http://www.totalmortalkombat.com/multimedia/mk_dvd/mkdvd.php

I DO NOT have another copy of TUG2MK CD-ROM download link at this time.

Goro,

I mean there are some special features about both movies
included in the new MK game, according to my friend. I bought the R4
DVD of MK:Annihilation, there are very few special features: trailer, jump to
a fight scene, and the more interesting "the kombatants". It contains a brief
story about each character and some comments (in portuguese) made by the actors about these. I can take some screenshots and share it. But perhaps
you've already seen it? And I bought the R4 VHS of "The Journey Begins". The only difference between this and the american realise, is the art cover and the title: here is know as "MK - The Animation". And a brief behind the scenes footage at the ending (just like the R1 realise).

titan,

What country's release of MK2011 did he buy? How did he find these bonuses - can they be uploaded?

The U.S. DVD for Annihilation also contains the Cast/Crew "Kombatant" filmographies but in English. They start with a short bio of the character and then a small insert from the actor. I believe most of this was taken from the Press Kit.

ANNIHILATION SPECIAL FEATURES FROM THE FRENCH DVD:

This link includes the B-roll, a special feature found only on the French DVD, as well as more rare finds from the MK universe (some of these are posted in the beginning of this thread):

Goro,

I think I confuse myself. Actually it's MK-Deadly Alliance for PS2, not the new one. The bonus material is called "MKHistory". It shows the history of games and movies. And about the movies, shows only that we've seen in the trailers: Liu Kang sitting on Smoke's shoulders, etc. Not worth watching.

RE: Mortal Kombat Movie - Behind the Scenes & More Thread *Updated 1/14/2012*

Goro

I collected some information about what supposedly went wrong in the second film, and the deleted scenes. Apparently, there was an original cut made by producer Larry Kasanoff wich was rejected by New Line. I got this info from some of the actors:

"What went wrong...was 'studio' control' issues conflicting over the main producer's sight and vision. The studio interfered and dominated key decisions. They made critical decisions that really hurt the film. Even so...The producer did edit a version of the movie that was MUCH better than what you saw. Again, the studio overruled...and it bombed. Their was some internal conflicts on choreography between Pat Johnson (2nd Unit Director) and actor....and then, much of the really cool choreographed moves got cut from the film. I think over half of it ended up on the cutting room floor because the director on MKII wanted to show the 'acting' parts...not the action."

But according to producer Alison Savitch, no major scenes were cut out. Only bits and pieces. She said that Quan-Chi does not appear in the film because his presence had mixed opinions by the producers. And according to associate producer Joshua Wexler, they didn't have enough time to put him into the movie. Actress Talisa Soto said she filmed some scenes (action scenes) that were deleted. Larry Kasanoff said in a interview (1999): "I would love to release a MKA Special Edition. I wish the version we release wasnt what it turned out to be. We were over-ruled by the studio (New Line Cinema) on MKA. To get approval for MKA:SE we would have more of the political crap to go through but we are still working on it and we hope to show you the film you guys would like to see".

titan,

Thanks again for the info. I believe a lot of that came from older interviews from back in the day or trade publications. Do you have any idea where exactly those tidbits are from?

Goro,

I do not understand the word "tidbits". Nevertheless, I got those infos
from the actors on Facebook.

RE: Movie & Merchandise Trailers, Promos, TV Spots, and More

hey dude,

thanks for posting this stuff! i'm feeling some serious nostalgia :)

honestly, i friggin' love the original movie...it's all i have to link me back to the summer of '95 haha

anyway, i hope they do the new film. i mean, they are currently casting for a new power rangers movie, and they can't get an MK film off the ground???

really doesn't make any sense to me. i mean, Power Ranger didn't have the best selling game of 2015 or a successful webseries....

how much more do the fans need to prove that there's enough momentum to get a film going

haha, fingers crossed :)

have a good one!

MK site back up / New IMDB images popping up on many MK videos...

FYI, I have taken the liberty of uploading images to MK videos missing their main image, Federation of Martial Arts being one of them. As someone who manages quite a few lists on IMDB myself, it pisses me off to no end to browse through lists with hundreds of movies and missing main images especially when most of them are freely available on the Internet.

Other ones I just finished:
* MK: Behind the Dragon documentary
* MK: Behind some scenes (OK it had no title slate so a still image had to do but I think it's supposed to be A Journey Behind the Scenes which does have a title slate)
* The Live Tour

My MK site is back up and almost fully up - all the scripts are back up. Check it out here: http://www.wskel.com/MK/

In case you don't know who I am, I'm the guy who made almost everything you see on Youtube about MK movie and its other media (non-VG) available to everyone else and told them they could upload it. Some credited me, some didn't some watermarked the footage ( >:( by the way) and some did not touch it. Few copycatted me and were able to get a few things up because they're in different countries or knew how to avoid their videos being taken down (*ahem laserdisc audio commentary *ahem MK annihilation interviews and behind some scenes *ahem).
