IMPORTANT - Sanchez disconfirms all the leaked info from the event in Brazil

First, I gotta say that I'm REALLY sorry for what I've done, and I'll do everything I can in order to fix it as soon as possible, not only because Hector asked me to do so, but because that's what I have to do.


For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I'll explain it from the beggining:
Last thursday (03/10), there was an event at a local Books & Eletronics Store here in São Paulo, where Hector Sanchez demo'd the game for the Brazilian public himself. Hours later, Binho posted some supposed 'new infos" about the game in our Brazilian MK community, incluiding things such as "region blocked online mode" and "human Sektor and Cyrax", which got Hector Sanchez in LOTS of trouble (I'll explain them later).

He posted all those things in our community like there wasn' any problem in doing so, so I thought it would be great if she could share all those information to other MK fansites (such as MKO itself), since he posted a lot of revealing news and he's the source of all those "leaks". But he said he was too tired, and he had some personal stuff to do, so he asked me to post it here. And so I did.

The thread generated 7 whole pages, filled wth LOTS of comments about the region block. It was everything ok to me back then, since there was some big news. Unfortunately, I just found out what I really did when I talked to Hector Sanchez himself today, in the event called "GameWorld 2011.

Hector said to me that all the information I posted in that thread got spread all over the internet, and he got in lots of trouble because of that. Lots of gaming sites and magazines flooded his e-mail asking him to explain in details what he supposedly said. "But I didn't say anything!" (those ae the EXACT words he said).

Hector explained that all of that was pure misundestandings and mistranslations, and that he NEVER said those things. He also explained that the "region block" thing was a hude misunderstand, where he actually said that the "Match Making" online mode would just SEARCH for players close to you in order to prevent lag. That's all! He also said that we'll be able to play against ANY PLAYER in another continent without any restriction.

About the human Sektor/Cyrax thinh, Hector said that whe just explained that both of them were once humans and were only automated during the third tournament with the invasion of Earth. Also, he said that he absolutely DID NOT CONFIRM ANYTHING about Cyber Sub-Zero.

He didn't go deep about the other things that was posted in the other thread, mas said that everything was just some coments misunderstood and mistranslated.

He also said that he recieved an e-mail from ED BOON HIMSELF, where he asked "Did you say all those things?". Hec's girlfriend (she was there) also revealed that Hector couldn't sleep at all that night. He was REALLY MAD about this things.

Well, at least today he wasn't so angry as he said he was. I explained him everything that happened in our talk and he understood that this wasn't my fault.. Yet, he asked me to explain things up and fix this situation as soon as I get home. And that's what I'm doing now.

So please, I REALLY want you guys to spread this text to all the sites which got the false information! I'll post this in TRMK and other MK sites. Please, say that everything was pure misunderstanding/mistranslation when anyone asks you about the region block thing or any another point of that thread.

Good to know that it allows for play internationally. Don't think anyone will hold the mistake against you,everyone makes them.

It was an unfotunatelly misunderstood of some parts, without any malicious. Good to see that everything will be solved soon. Hector deserves any efforts he could get.

I'll be the first to give you props for stepping up and being a man. Everybody screws up and it takes guts to be up front and try to make amends. Unfortunately, rumors spread easily while their corrections have a tendency to move much slower.

But, guys. Take a look. Now do you see the problem with this kind of thing? The game of telephone? People talking without really knowing what's up? It has real consequences and innocent people, both working for the company and/or in the community, can get thrown under the bus. Just remember that the next time you get or think you get "inside info."

Like TonyTheTiger said, I applaud you for standing up and admitting to the false information. It sucks that it happened on such a large scale, but we are all human, and mistakes unfortunately happen.

Thank you for clearing all that up for us, and hopefully there are some more surprises (in a good way) coming soon!

Indeed, and that's what I felt that I really had to do. Also, Hector didn't know it was actually me who posted that thing here. I REALLY felt the need to say it when he said "I got in trouble for that". When I said so, he said "So YOU got me in trouble!". He was just joking, as he explained later that he understands that it was not my fault, but JESUS CHRIST, I DO BELIEVE THAT THE BIGGEST RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS IS ME!

Tony, we see this as a natural thing, unthinkable and potentially harmful indeed. But the fans were/are very excited about this MK that they will try to get any information they could get, sometimes a misunderstood like this one happens, but we don't think that this is a thing to be so blamed, even if it could be avoided, and it could, for sure.

And we have to congratulates Poto, he's really playing a good role, that deserves our respects. He ha fixed the situation with Hector, personally, so, let's give him all applause he deserves.

Yeah i knew about the region block deal wasn't region block on the whole online, just the search. I knew this even without confimation, since they want everyone to play with friends.

But, i hope he dosn't get to much heat for this. Man sometimes its hard to do these interviews, stuff slips out and gets mistranslated. Ohwell looks like someone needs to retake spanish class lol.grin

And this is a PERFECT example why companies have embargos and NDA's that must and should be signed before events like this. This is also a perfect example of why rumors and such should NEVER be trusted on fan sites. Its also a perfect reason why they dont allow video cameras and a reason why Devs dont reach out to the public more

Hey, easy there. It was not his fault at all, like it was said, it was just a miunderstood and mistranslation that could harm Hector, but as Poto said, he has explained the situation face to face with Hector and he is putting his face here to try to solve everything. So, instead blame him and say that his is an idiot, why don't help to solve this situation once and for all?
Also, it is very, very worthy what he's doing.

I don't know man, he is right. Maybe he just expressed it wrong, here let me help.

Yeah unfortunitly things like these tend to happen at these conferences, so thats why they need embargos. Man i can't belive that saying this info could cost him his job. The whole community should send a "I humbly appologize" tweeter or letter.

Also, Rumors tend to get started and then people flame up because its something that they don't like, and its not even true.

Am I just supposed to 100% forgiving for what he did? I give him props for admitting he was wrong and that the information was wrong or misinterpreted/mistranslated but the damage has been done. Thats SO not cool that Hector is getting in trouble for this.

This is another reason why I never really trust everything people say on the internet even if they were at events like this. Leave the reporting to the real journalists

If he revealed information about the game before NRS and WB wanted the info to be released he would have. That happens in every company. They have a strict info release schedule and if any employee leaks information its their ass

and is saying this so we think theres more stuff in the game!

Don't worry Ed i will still buy the game knowing all the secrets, just wish Motaro was in the game, you had sooo much time to have him in the game
