Disturbing Babalities….and the adorable ones (with Pictures!)

I would have never believed this to be possible, but, I just have to say it loud and proud:

I love Babalites in MK.


Babalities were most definitely one of the game's biggest surprises. Not only because the Team actually decided to include this Finisher as a hidden feature, but, also because the concept was totally revamped to be unique, fun, original, and worthwhile for all the characters (some even giving tribute to favorite classic Friendships).

Overall, the Babalities in MK9 are super adorable and actually fun to perform and to watch.

But, did anyone else feel a bit weird about some of them? I know that my reaction towards Kano and Kabal's (for example) Babalities was not the same as most of the others.

For some reason, some Babalities just made me go "Ewww" because they didn't really look super adorable. More like a "disturbing" parody of something, well, bad. And some just made me feel sad for the Babies (Jade's).

What are your thoughts?

I think I'm not really a fan of:

Kano's: A psycho baby with beard who falls on his face.
Kabal: The costume makes him look soooo inappropriate.
Jade's: Most painful looking one.
Mileena's: Just because its not that special, actually.
Sub-Zero's: Not a fan of "peeing" jokes.
Smoke's: Or farts. I never found these kind of things amusing...at all.

EDIT: So, I'm pissed because I made this thread featuring pictures of ALL the Babalities but there is strange "Server Error" that will NOT allow me to post the pictures. EDIT 2: After tweaking a bit the order of the pictures I was allowed to post them. Such a strange error/website glitch.

Nice post queve, And awesome pics.

Definitely find Sub's the most entertaining, Gets a laugh from me every time.

Never thought I'd want to see the return of Babalities, Prior to release. But these are each classic in their own ways, Genius. smile

Very nice compilation you did and the little side comments are a nice touch.

I liked most of the babalities, my favorite was Johnny Cage's though, so adorable it reminds me of a picture my niece drew for me a while agosmile I also really enjoyed Scorpion, Sonya and Subbie's, still adorable and funny.


The only one I didn't like was Kano's and I'm a bit iffy on Stryker's.

Agreed that subs is brilliant lol. Lol kano baby is more distrubing than kratos lol (never seen kanos babality until now)

I like Mileena's. It's short, sweet, and kind of adorable(a growling baby cannibal really is the way to my heart). Definitely not as flashy as the other ones though... I thought Sheeva's was funny, but she should have stomped slower with more drama, would have upped the hilarity. Shang Tsung's is probably my favorite though.

babalities are great, but you have to wonder why EVERYBODY got a really good, unique one which matched that character's traits except mileena, whose babality is absolute shit?

Shao Kahn, Scorpion, Raiden, Kintaro, Ermac, Noob, Smoke, Kratos, Sub-Zero, Quan Chi and Johnny have the best babalities. In that order too.

The rest are crap (but still cute). Especially Sindel, Jax and Sonya!

If I remember korrectly (lol, MK spelling) you have to go on medium difficulty and perform a Babality on everyone without losing a match (round losses are ok). Do not block an attack during the winning round and perform your Kharacter's Babality input once the Announcer says "Finish Him/Her!". (you can perform X-Rays and Enhanced specials, just don't block an attack).

Do not block any of Kintaro, Goro and Shao Kahn's attacks during the winning round, once you defeat them, your Kharacter will automatically perform a Babality.

just a simple question cause sometime I have problem doing babality when playing. The no blocking an attack during the last round is a must do or its simply for the boss babality????

In order to perform ANY babality, you cannot block an attack in the winning round. You can press the block button all you want, but it can't be used to block an actual attack.

On topic: my favorites are Shao Kahn, Johnny Cage and Kano (it's just too cute to not love, in an "Awww... poor thing" sort of way).

My favourite is definately Noob's babality. I love the Portal reference. XD

The suckiest one in my opinion is indeed Mileena's. It's simply boring.

Another worthy mention is Quan Chi's. I like how he's all evil and mighty, and then a skull bonks him on his head.

Like you, Queve, Smoke's farting, Subbie's peeing and Reptile's barfing aren't really funny to me, just odd.

I like how Jade's is inspired by her Hara-Kiri, but in the same time it's a bit disturbing when thinking that the Razor-Rang would be able to cut her head off instead of just smacking her to the ground.

cage and sub-zero are my fav babalitys...i havent notice that u cant block the winning round to do them but i also dont block much unless playing online...
