New Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition Trailer

A new trailer boasting former DLC characters is the latest from Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition -- just days away from its official February 28 US release!

Coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the Komplete Edition packs in all the features of the original game, with downloadable content extras provided on the disc! Komplete Edition versions will be compatible with existing copies, when playing online.

Among the DLC extras included in the edition are four extra characters; Kenshi, Skarlet, Rain and horror film special guest, Freddy Krueger. Fifteen klassic costumes are also provided, with additional fatalities inspired by the games of the past, part of their feature.

The trailer also seems to confirm a March 2nd release date for Europe. A PlayStation Vita version of the game, with features exclusive to the handheld console, has also received the trailer treatment [view trailer], with a confirmed UK release of April 27. Fans in the US will be able to get a hands-on preview courtesy of the Vita Hill Social Club.

It's nice to have everything on one disc, and worth it if you've been waiting all this time to get the game now you get the full package.

I was hoping to get the UMK3 male ninja DLC from the vita version, guess that won't be happening.

Games companies are bizarre beasts...

Please preorder your game with a certain store to get an extra skin/weapon/cheat/character
Please buy our game new.
Please input your 25 digit code to access online modes.
Please support the game by buying our DLC

Lol here is a cheaper version with all that stuff released a year later.

YUP. Netherealm Studios can fuck right off with that shit along with Capcom. I'm never buying another fighting game from either at launch anymore.

I'd just like to say I wasn't "hating" on NRS. The whole industry is addicted to this cycle which does punish people who do buy the game new.

That's life. Almost everything in this world goes down in price as time goes on.

Movies go to a cheaper theatre after a couple months, or if you go to the day showings, it's cheaper. Cars go down in value as years pass. Many places have deals and specials where it's cheaper to go at a certain time or a certain day. Clothes and items can go on sale or on clearance. Gas changes almost daily. Movies/DVDs etc. go down in price over time.

Those are just a few examples of plenty. Point being, that's everything in this world when it comes to money. You bought the game at $60 when it first comes out, don't be surprised if that game is cheaper a year later, or if they put out a complete edition with all the DLC content for the original $60. It's not just fighting games. Lots of games have "Game of the Year" editions. This is nothing new, and it's not just Capcom or Netherrealm.

To sum it up:
You pay top dollar to get things right away when they are first released. That's how it's always been.

I still think this should have been called, Mortal Kombat: game of the year edition. That way, no one could really bitch about it being called complete, oops sorry, komplete.

I don't see where the complaints regarding the price reduction come from; all electronic stuff ('cept NES 8-bit) loses their value upon time. Time is money and you've had the chance to play the game until frustration by now.

Anyway, Kollector's Edition outweighs Komplete Edition by a mile pound.

At least NRS did the DLC right. Can't complain there. As for the complete edition, I would get it if I didn't already have the game and all the DLC for it.

Glad I waited... I knew some kind of edition would eventually come out and I am happy that my wait was worth while. Even though it sucks for others who bought the game at launch. I did that with Street Fighter 4 and I learned my lesson!

Not really, I have enjoyed a lot having bought this game at launch. Right now you have just waited a year for a $20 worth addition which is only 4 characters, 3 boring fatalities, and 2 costumes painted in different colors. Not worth at all imo, if you weren't going to enjoy the game without this addition I doubt it will make any difference.

And since this game has been out for almost a year there are not many people left playing it. Except those who play it competitively and a few spammers online.

Would it change your opinion on rebuying Mortal Kombat if this Komplete Edition had a batch of new achievements (1000/1000) and trophies in it?

To be honest I wish I got the game earlier, but due to financial issues I wasn't able to afford it at launch. As time went by, so did the releasing of the DLC. Finally, I just said "screw it" and waited for a GOTY edition or something like it. Now my patients will be rewarded. On another note, some people have done the same thing as I did, or the Komplete Edition will rope in new people, seeing that the Komplete Edition also comes with the original movie and some music.

Bottom line:
The Komplete Edition will bring a new influx of players to Mortal Kombat 9<\b>
