Free Injustice Demo Coming to PlayStation Home & LIVE Marketplace April 2!

Injustice: Gods Among Us is mere weeks away, but fans will get a hands-on preview starting April 2! A free demo is coming to the comfort of your own home via PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace!

Update Apr. 2: Contrary to prior information, the Injustice demo has already gone live on XBL! It is now also available in the United States PSN store. Share your impressions on the forum!

The demo will deliver a pared down preview featuring Batman, Wonder Woman & Lex Luthor as fully playable fighters in the Gotham City arena!

With any luck, the demo-specific build should mean smaller and quicker downloads than NetherRealm Studios' 2011 Mortal Kombat preview [more], which resulted in mass content leaks.

According to the Injustice Facebook; the free demo will debut April 2nd via PlayStation Network US before hitting European and Xbox LIVE Marketplace and European PSN, April 3rd.

Fans eager to get some Injustice into their Xbox can hit up the LIVE Marketplace where an extensive range of Gods Among Us themed avatar accessories are now available [full story}. Injustice: Gods Among Us hits home consoles (inc. Nintendo Wii U) April 16. Be sure to share your demo experience with the MKOmmunity on the DC Universe Injustice forum!

Re: the previous concern regarding blood. While there isn't any during Wonder Woman's super (although you can still hear a bloodsplurt), there is plenty of it during the rest of the fights. Also after I almost got creamed against Lex as WW, she looked pretty brutal - a gash across the upper chest and some gnarly damage to the right shoulder. It almost looked like protruding bone.

yeah i have seen some battle damage as well glad its in but i have also not seemed to have noticed any blood at all so far wicked game though easy to get into and memorize the combos and moves can't wait until it drops.

I just downloaded the demo from the US PS Store and I'm not thrilled. I mean, the game looks fun, but the fact that you cannot change the button scheme and that you can't skip the win poses and the demo trailer at the end annoys me to no end.

My TV is another problem, it's an SD TV so I can't read the move properties at all, the font is way too small and the edges of the screen are cut off so I can't even see the most right and left boxes on the top of the select screen fully and I can't see how many hits there were in a combo lol. Desperately need a new TV lol.

Played 2-3 ladders with Batman and it was fun. Not sure how much I'll play until the game comes out 'cause I know I'll be changing the control scheme (just like I did with MK) and I don't want to get used to this one.

Love the game so far. Getting my ass handed to me by doomsday on hard. He is a fucking mauler! Also, I get back to block, I understand why some prefer back to block...I hate back to block.

Batman's "Character Trait". Other than flinging them off or spinning them around him, what does it do? The Injustice Wikia says that it has defensive properties, and the description on the movelist says it's possible to lose one or more (since the spinning move can only be done with all three), but as soon as you get hit, they go away. What am I missing here?

Also, it may have been explained somewhere else, but I haven't been really paying attention to it. How does it work?

Played for about 20 minutes today. I'm not passing judgment yet, but so far, the game doesn't feel good.

That's not a criticism. Just an observation. Still, the movement, the chains, the button layout... it feels really unnatural.

I felt the same way when the demo for MK9 came out. Felt it again when I first played this demo, but it goes away with time. After a few hours of playing around, it feels pretty smooth. The chains are really good, batman had around 3 pop up attacks, Wonder Woman has 3 also. Lex doesn't really have good combos that you can link together, but his character trait makes up for it.

Game felt somewhat clunky to me, but it was alright. Here's my thoughts:

- Batman easiest to use (No surprise there)

- Each character felt surprisingly mobile

- Doomsday should've been playable

- The move list giving frame data, damage, and High and Lows is great

- Move list should tell you how to Clash and Stage Transition

- Not digging the female robot announcer at all

- Video at the end should be able to be skipped

- It felt very different from MK, I had to relearn everything

- Overall it was pretty fun

It's a really nice demo, though I can say for certain, neither of the three available characters are ones I will main. XD

But I like the pace. It's like MK, but faster. The button layout was something I had to get used to first, but overall, I quite like it.

Yeah I know, I saw the option. I'm just frustrated that they disabled it for the demo. WTF?!

Haven't gone back to it yet, I don't have the will...
