Well, there's a pretty big difference on which one I will buy, but I just figured out something that sealed the deal.

Kingdom Hearts III has been confirmed as playable on the PS4 EXCLUSIVELY. As a KH fanboy, Sony has me next gen.

This is what Microsoft has confirmed

As explained by Microsoft, “Xbox One is designed to run in a low-powered, connected state. This means your system, games and apps are always current and ready to play—no more waiting for updates. While a persistent connection is not required, Xbox One is designed to verify if system, application or game updates are needed and to see if you have acquired new games, or resold, traded in, or given your game to a friend. Games that are designed to take advantage of the cloud may require a connection.”

“With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies."
Microsoft added "because every Xbox One owner has a broadband connection, developers can create massive, persistent worlds that evolve even when you’re not playing."

Microsoft also spelled out its policies on game lending, trade-ins and rentals. "In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable

“We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.”

Microsoft says "your friends and family, your guests and acquaintances get unlimited access to all of your games. Anyone can play your games on your console--regardless of whether you are logged in or their relationship to you." The company added that “Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once.”
It's worth noting that Microsoft allows you to gift games to friends but they can't borrow them. Microsoft added that "loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners."

However, anyone can play games using your console. "Your friends and family, your guests and acquaintances get unlimited access to all of your games," Microsoft says. "Anyone can play your games on your console--regardless of whether you are logged in or their relationship to you."
Xbox One will also allow you to give up to 10 family members access to "log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One." Similar to Xbox 360, "a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time."

Microsoft says "you’ll be able to buy disc-based games at traditional retailers or online through Xbox Live, on day of release. Discs will continue to be a great way to install your games quickly."
Players will be able to access their library from other consoles. "After signing in and installing, you can play any of your games from any Xbox One because a digital copy of your game is stored on your console and in the cloud. So, for example, while you are logged in at your friend’s house, you can play your games."

According to Xbox's official site, "at Microsoft, we prioritize your privacy. We understand that your personal data and privacy are important. Xbox One and Kinect will provide tools to put you in control of your data."

Microsoft stresses that "you are in control of what Kinect can see and hear. By design, you will determine how responsive and personalized your Xbox One is to you and your family during setup. The system will navigate you through key privacy options, like automatic or manual sign in, privacy settings, and clear notifications about how data is used. When Xbox One is on and you’re simply having a conversation in your living room, your conversation is not being recorded or uploaded."

Players will also control whether Kinect is on, off or paused. "If you don’t want the Kinect sensor on while playing games or enjoying your entertainment, you can pause Kinect. To turn off your Xbox One, just say 'Xbox Off.' When the system is off, it’s only listening for the single voice command -- 'Xbox On,' and you can even turn that feature off too. Some apps and games may require Kinect functionality to operate, so you’ll need to turn it back on for these experiences."
Your personal data will never be available to anyone outside of your console, Microsoft stressed. "You can play games or enjoy applications that use data, such as videos, photos, facial expressions, heart rate and more, but this data will not leave your Xbox One without your explicit permission."

The Xbox One did things right as did the PS4. The only difference is how the fans of each act.

Xbox fans usually act like this. " Hey do you have an xbox so we can play? No? Damn alright that sucks." And then the conversation ends.

"Hey have you played Halo? No? Oh you have a ps3? Ahhh cool well maybe you could drop by and we could play it sometime, It's pretty fun."

----------------------------------------

Play Station fans usually act like this. "Hey do you have a PS3 so we can play? No? You are a piece of shit trying to dodge the master race of everything. I hate you and you have no taste in anything.".

"Hey have you played Uncharted? No? OF COURSE NOT. YOU PLAY FUCKING XBOX. YOU DON'T KNOW THE EXPERIENCES OF PLAYING AS DRAKE BECAUSE YOU ARE BUSY CHAINSAWING PEOPLE ON YOUR RED RING OF DEATH MACHINE. YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GOOD TASTE."

----------------------------------------

I have both consoles and enjoy both. I am not a die-hard fanboy of either and enjoy what both offer but just from observing it seems like the Play Station fans are much much angrier people. Just an observation. Even from how PS Fanboys and fangirls act on here. I'm just going to enjoy both consoles of this generation and will most likely get around to enjoying both of the next-gen consoles.

I actually own an X-Box 360, not a PS3. I have played PS3. Apparently you're saying the fans (or rather, their stereotypical reactions to other gamers in an irrational manner) are what sell the games and system, when it's the consumer approval of the system and the affordability that determines how the system is sold. Obviously, the PS4 appeals more to gamers (especially those who don't have internet access) because it's more affordable, doesn't charge on used games, and doesn't require a 24 hour check-in on your console.

This reminds me of something that happened a few days ago:

Xbox fanboy: Haha OMG do you really think PS4 won't have DRM or used games policy? Don't be so naive.

*Then after PS4 reveal*

Xbox fanboy: LOL who cares about the Shitstation 4, you can keep playing your Uncharturd, we got Killer Instinct so suck it!

I wrote it better than he actually did mind you. But since he is an Xbox fanboy, we can all agree all Xbox users are as retarded as him right?

No but from what I have seen (especially around here) xbox fans accept what they have and are cool with what others have while the ps fans accept what they have and are not cool with what others have. That doesn't mean I haven't seen my fair share of retarded xbox fans.

The scenarios I posted were not directed towards the quote I put from your post in the KH thread. The part about both consoles doing things right was what was directed towards your post. The scenario involving fans was unrelated. Obviously the consumer approval of the console sells it not the stereotypes behind the fans of each.

I also don't want to hear any users on here (or any site for that matter) complaining about the Xbox One requiring the use of internet because you obviously have internet if you are coming here to complain about it. Is It a dumb concept for the few in the gaming community who don't have internet? Yes. But anyone who wants to complain on the INTERNET about the console requiring INTERNET deserves to be given the boots medium style.

Man I love fanboys. So easy to troll.

As for my take on the two systems now that we've seen the respective presentations:

I'm a fanboy of neither company. I have and played the crap out of PS1 and PS2, but even though I own a PS3 I almost never touch it and instead opt for the 360, when I have times for games nowadays. In fact, the last generation in which I didn't own every major console choice was the Genesis-SNES days (disclaimer - I don't count the Saturn, as that system was pretty much doomed from the start here in the States). I took all the info I could find from Sony and Microsoft (and Nintendo, too) from their E3 presentations and I have this to say: at this moment, right now, after what we've seen from E3, you're on crack if you think the X1 is ahead of the PS4, and I'd heavily question you if you think the X1 is ahead of even the Wii U. Now, this could certainly change between now and their respective launches. Nothing is set in stone, but that's where everyone stands right now, and the only people who would disagree are fanboys. It's that obvious of a gap.

Granted, it is pretty stupid to complain about internet connection issues when they complain about via internet services. That said, I know I've done it myself (and from a game console, nonetheless! Do this from my Nintedno Wii.)
That said as well, the only reason I don't like it is because, as a teenager, Still having to sit here under Dad's watchful eye, knowing that he controls my internet connectivity. I don't like it, and can't wait for the nexy 3 years of my life to be over so I can move out. But until then, he controls what system I can have connect to the internet, and as of now, I already know it's the Wii and Wii alone.

So, yeah, I will stupidly gripe about the online connectivity crap via internet. For the next 3 years and 2 months.

I don't like Sonyboys - there are really annoying. However, as for Sony - I cheered for them this time. They played their cards right and XBone with all this bullshit there're trying to pull off, will need something serious to return to their former position. That at least some corporate bastards will now their place.

I am more Nintendo fan for life. Though I didn't have any of their consoles after SNES. But I like how their approach their business - games are for fun, not for insane records and stuff. Too many people take games VERY (TOO) seriously nowadays and, in my opinion, it sucking much of the entertainment from them.

A lot of people I know, including myself, have PS3's. We're pretty much Playstation fanboys, if you want to call us that, but I've never seen anyone I know that has a PS3 or a 360 act like that. We're all pretty cool with people having whatever system they want. Why should we care if they prefer one system or the other.

I don't know if you were basing that on real life experiences or the internet, but I've never seen anyone who's actually said that unless they were commenting on some video on Youtube or something. In that case, those people are just fucking idiots.

Most people in person are pretty cool about things, but people online are extremely obnoxious about almost everything, so I don't really count them as "people". I count them as "internet".

As far as the "Console Wars", I per-ordered my PS4 this morning. I'm still keeping an open mind for Xbox One but, PS4.

-I am a Playstation fanboy

That being said:

-I was one of the first to criticize Sony on dropping the ball with PS3.

-I was one of the first to congratulate them on rectifying all the concerns I have had.

You can be a true fan only as long as you are also a true critic.

Golden words, good sir. I frequenting some game forums and some game communities and there are people, that ready to tear anyone apart because they say anything about their beloved console. They are that annoying bunch of people who seemingly plays consoles instead of games. I.e. they doesn't care how really good the game is as long it was on "their console". Those people are very annoying to say the least.

There hasn't been a home console from Sony in seven years, and eight years for Microsoft. I'm pretty sure most people have had enough time to save up.

I pre-ordered my PS4 today.

Pretty much. It seems most Xbox fans don't really have a problem with being restricted on used game use or a mandatory internet connection. Me personally, I rarely buy used games unless it is a really old title or a retro game that stores no longer carry. I also never trade in my games, because you get screwed regardless on the trade in value.

Most Xbox fans feel thins way when it comes to a mandatory internet connection on the XBOne. I'd bet every single gamer has a smartphone of some sort as well, which is an always on connection and yet they have no problem with it. Yet the MS haters seem to point it out like it so bad. Personally I find mobile games much worst when it comes to not having an internet connection. As you can't play the game at all when you don't have a network connection. At least MS is giving gamers wiggle room of saying the system needs to check in at least every 24 hrs, so you have 24 hrs from when your system goes down to get your internet back, rather than being locked out right away with mobile games.
Not to mention that cheating in games is more prevalent on the PS3 and I would assume the PS4 too with no way for the system to check it. MS has had system verification in place since the 360 began, and its been pretty good at keeping cheaters offline.

I steal my internet from my dad actually. (Doesn't know I have the code) But seriously connection is only good now cause my dad's girlfriend got us internet when I first found this site I was "borrowing" my neighbors connection.

The worst part about this, to me, is that micro said if you don't have a connection buy a 360. Might as well just get PS4.
