Rain's not a prince. The son of a god is not the same thing as the son of a king. So when he calls himself a prince, he's either not very smart and doesn't know what words mean, or he's just lying to make himself sound more important.

Between the ball mask and the love triangle suggestion, I can't help but think you're tip-toeing around proposing an Eyes Wide Shut take on the character.

Well, on DOTR, when Liu Kang and Kitana were dating, it was mentioned that Rain and Kitana used to be engaged. There's your triangle right there.

That's about as close to a prince as Rain will get - engaged to a princess. Because neither his adopted father (Edenial general) or biological father (the god Argus) would give him that title.

A love interest in Mortal Kombat doesn't really interest anyone, so much as a love triangle. And- they would need to completely rearrange the story to where some feamle fall for Rain- not many characters would fit that mark. Neutral/ Evil women who are still alive include; Nitara, Mileena, Sheeva, Frost, Kira, and Tanya. Tanya IS plausible- as is possibly Frost, but the chances of this occcuring are slim to none. NetherRealm KNOWS what most MK fans want- bloody Fatalities and awesome story about battles to save/ conquer the Realms. One of the last thingss they would think about is creating a love interest between charcters who AREN'T front-liners like Liu Kang and Kitana.

Rain, Lui kang and kitana sounds good. Everyone's different, they don't have to be portrayed in a brutal way. There can be nice people.

What do u guys think of Rains body being like glacius from killer instinct? Now that subzero is a cyborg, rain can have that ice body look. Also making rain like this would mean he looks like chameleon, so it's really good. On top of body he has ninja outfit. What do u guys think?

With that being said, Rain is half-God, half-Edenian. While I kind of like the inhuman look, which I believe MK is sorely lacking when we consider that nobody wants characters who don't resemble humans (LONG LIVE MK4 AND DA REPTILE!), and as much as I really dig that look, it isn't for Rain. Honestly, I'd rather see a look like that for a cyber-Sub-Zero, with a lot of modifications to make it so that his cold abilities are consuming the metal plates around his body. There's nothing about Rain that would turn him into an aquatic monster really, unless they make a superb story to pull it off and an even better design...Though this kind of gives me a few ideas for writing...

But if rain is half god it would make sense for him to not look human besides his costume. He could be water elemental god. Blaze and dark kahn had a similar look to glacius only they were fire power. Rain could look like silver surfer but without surfboard. And a ninja costume over his body. We can make Rains body silver even. So he will be sparkling silver. And purple costume on top looks elegant.

He's only half-God, he's also half-Edenian, which makes him a mortal man. That kinda prevents him from being able to look like his body's made out of something other than flesh and bone, like the full-gods can.

Besides, his dad Argus doesn't look like he's made out of anything, his mortal form looks like a dude, like Raiden and Fujin do. We don't even know what Argus is the god OF. It's probably not water, since his other sons have fire powers.

He can have human look of a male human body but he could be in water for due to him being half-god. It doesn't matter about argue because rain has not been properly introduced in the mk story. He has a arcade ending but no storyline. So they can change a lot of things about him. Silver surfer look would look good.

I would despise Rain even more if his entire self becomes a watery beast. There's no reason for him to change like that.

I'm not a fan of him, for me to like him, he needs to have something happen to him, become more of an important character. Rain isn't important at all, despite who he's related to and what he is. Despite that he originated out from a joke, still, if this guy has a story where he's the son of Argus, a half-god, half-Edenian, why the fuck isn't he thrown in the story as an important character? Instead, he gets washed away to DLC.

I was really hoping with the DLC that they would have added maybe a few more chapters to introduce Kenshi, Scarlet, and Rain and how they would be in this game, unfortunately they didn't and we get three characters that hardly had any importance at all. Some might argue that they do carry something important, but they weren't so in the latest game. If they were to come back for the next one, I'd like to see something be done. I was slightly intrigue with what they did with Rain and how he played in this game, he had some really nice combos and his moves are useful greatly... but I just want something done to him so that he's finally a character that has a reason to be there and not just because he's a huge fan favorite. Honestly, I hate that reason to add someone in a game if they're not there.

They could make a story that's based on how he became a watery beast.

He appeared in Armageddon's story mode and Armageddon is connected to MK9.

But armagadon never happened, so Rains story can be different now. All the more reason for him to have a story based on his watery beast story.

No....Armageddon CAN still happen, it just won't be with Shao Kahn killing Blaze and taking the power and smashing Raiden's head to a pulp. Blaze is still alive and guarding Onaga's egg, assuming of course NRS hasn't decided on retconning even more shit.

Except it did happen, you know... the reason why 2011'a story existed in the first place... it's called dimensions and a heck of a lot of games are doing that as of lately.

Armageddon may not have happened yet, but its WORLD is supposed to be the SAME world MK9 takes place in, which is why Raiden is even able to have visions of the future in the first place.

He saw his future self fight Onaga and Taven, that means those characters exist, he just hasn't met them yet.

And anything that happened in the PAST, like, say, Rain being born, HAS happened, so who Rain's father is is still the same. Every single backstory that was true in MKA is STILL true now.

Besides, you can't just dismiss his arcade ending just because it's not a story mode cutscene. It still flat-out tells us what his origins are and they are the same as they were in MKA.

So Rain's backstory cannot be changed. He IS the half-mortal son of Argus, Protector-God of Edenia. That's as concrete as it can possibly be.
That's how storytelling works. You can't have your way on this one, don't be childish about it.

No he doesn't, and no he doesn't need to become a "watery beast." That's stupid.

Scorpion has white eyes, subzero has freezing arms or cyborg look. Rain doesn't have a stand out feature, reptile has reptilian look, ermac should be plain because his powers are telekinesis which is sorcery. Rain needs a distinct look. The silver surfer look is a good look but maybe in a different colour. Water based chrome is a cool look. People in America love surfing and it has to do with water.

I hope you do know that the Water God basically looks like what you're trying to aim for. I seriously doubt that the designers would make Rain look like an exact copy of such character and have him get confused by fans as to why the Water God is under a new name.

Also... I live in one of the biggest cities in America, I don't surf. And even if I did, I probably wouldn't like it because I'd probably fail at it like I do with skateboarding.

Rains body would look better like the silver surfer, his half human so he can have human body but his also half god so why can't his flesh be like silver surfer. Then on top he wears his ninja outfit. I don't see why that can't happen.
