Finally the best Resident Evil game gets some more attention. I love REmake and I can't wait to buy it again.

This was pretty much the first thing in my Facebook news feed today, and I freaked out... I felt like I was a little kid again I've been hoping for an HD remake of the original RE for a while, and here it finally is!

Also, I appreciate that they're giving an option for original 4x3 or new 16x9, and that the camera will do a "tilt and scan" on the 16x9 version when the player moves up and down the screen.

And definitely getting it for PS4 rather than PS3... even though it's an HD remake of an older game, looks like it's indeed only 720p on PS3 while PS4 gets the full resolution 1080p.

Just a bit bummed that it's digital-only, but eh, I'll live

I already got it for Gamecube, so no big deal to me. Unless they add something actually worthwhile other than updated graphics, like extra playable characters and scenarios, like three new ones starring Rebecca, Wesker and Barry, respectively, and/or even one featuring the STARS Bravo team exploring the mansion. Sure, all of them save for Rebecca died, many in absolutely pathetic ways, but it'd still make for a good extra scenario.

Other worthwhile additions would be mini-games, alts for the characters, new difficulty settings. Anything more than just HD.

The Silent Hill HD collection was rather disappointing, and even changed some of the voice actresses/actors. So an HD remake/collection isn't something I immediatly go crazy for.

If Capcom was smart they'd make an RE2 HD Remake the same style as this one. Fans have been drooling over that for the last decade. But yeah I have this on my Gamecube as well, absolutely love the shit out of this game.

I've still got my original GameCube copy, so I've no need for this.

Nice to see it get some new attention, though. Such a great game.
And, yes, DG1OA, they'd better not pull a Silent Hill HD collection and change the voices, mess up the sound effects, and ruin texture work.

So long as any remake of any old RE game is handled like the first, by not retconning anything in the story, and perhaps even adding to it, then I'd be okay with an HD remake.

A little off-topic, but since I brought up the SH HD collection, I'm curious: Does anyone here own all of the four original SH games individually? I do.

I'm pretty sure you just had the option of 3 tank controls in REmake.

I thought I read somewhere that it'll let you choose between tank controls and regular analog movement now. Was that in the GameCube version as well? Either way, I'm really pumped for this. I'd love it if they added more to explore in the main game plus some extras, but even if it's just a prettier port of the GC version, I'll be a happy camper.

Wish Konami would so this with Silent Hill...

Yea, dem peeps at Konams kinda shafted that remake, but their other two were wunderbar. I might look into this though.

This is awesome to get a all new generation of gamers to experience the true Resident evil experience i can't wait til this releases the game is a masterpiece of survival horror finally its coming out for more platforms the nintendo exclusivity was not getting it sales at all, I bet this is a testing ground for more Survival horror like RE games maybe if this does well we shall get the long wanted RE2 REmake! :)

*Sighs* I'd rather see the second game get a remake. That game was the first I started out with, will always have a place in my heart. It just... I feel that deserves it more.

And it has the best line ever stated in a video game, even surpasses Barry's nonsense.

If you ask me, that is exactly what this is. Capcom is putting the series' future in our hands. If this sells well, we'll likely see REZeroHD followed by the RE2 Remake. It's money in the bank with all the hype around RE2/3.

I just want to have REmake/Zero on PS3/4 so I can sell my shitty wii. HD and no looking back.

One day... Our dreams will come true and we will see RE2Remake. It's the same as Square Enix and FF7. It's a life jacket for a rainy day. Sure money. Just a matter of time and stupidity.

I cannot wait for this, I will purchase it on every platform available that I can. I love this game that much. The gamecube versions of RE games are the only reason I still have a Wii.
I hope this sells really well and opens the door for RE0 HD and RE2&3 remakes in the style of the remake though.
The RE2 20th anniversary in a few years is a perfect time for it.

Dayum. One of the best RE, and it already looked stunning on the Gamecube. Can't wait.
