That would explain the Hadouken Cabs teaser from a while back. But holy fucking shit, I can't believe PS got this as an exclusive. I almost don't agree with it because I think the FG market really isn't big enough to have games be exclusive to certain consoles.

But I do think people should remember what happened with Tomb Raider. It is just a timed exclusive after all, so maybe Street Fighter 5 is as well. We'll find out more at Playstation Experience since it seems this leaked from there.

I do like how it looks a bit darker and less animeish (Not that I have anything against Anime, I love shonin anime lol) but the last SF game looked very cartoony so this slightly darker version looks good.

Which has a lot of people in the community thinking this just a timed exclusive.
@KungLaodoesntsuck: I feel the game will be a bigger seller on the PC than PS4. Seems like most of the comparative players play on PC now over console.

Probably. But shit for PS to even get SF as a timed exclusive is pretty huge. I'm more shocked than anything right now.

I immediately dislike how identical it looks to IV. Granted its literally only a few seconds of (early) footage, but I really hope it'll eventually stand out as it's own thing, rather than resemble a flashier extension of IV.

This may actually take place in the timeline AFTER SFIII. I was thinking that too from the Denjin Hadouken.

If you think this news of PS4 and PC only is stupid just think about the new Tomb Raider game that is only going to be on X-Box One. It used to be owned by Playstation but I guess they gave the series up.

The exclusivity will put a bad taste in people's mouths, but the way I see it, it had to happen like this. Capcom is kinda broke right now, so it's very possible that the money from Sony's exclusivity contract is the only reason this game is happening at all.

The more I look into this, the more I'm starting to think this is actually fake.

I wasn't able to view the video when I originally posted the topic (I was at work), but now that I've able to view it's looking fake to me. It nothing but Street fighter 4 footage interlaced with footage from the Street Fighter documentary. The video source referenced, doesn't even link to an official Capcom channel. The title and logos are easy enough for a fan made fake.

All the various game news sites are running with the original news article and we don't have any official confirmation from either Sony or Capcom. I'm just starting to think it's a total hoaxs. I linked to an article earlier in this post, where series producer Ono stated back in August that the series would be coming to both PS4 and XBO. I don't see how things could change that much in 4 months.


The video does look slick, but not good enough for it to be released dev. IMO. Whoever made it is really fooling a lot of people, if this does turn out to be bogus.

Looks identical to SFIV. Besides by now we're all smart enough to know that there will be Super, Ultra, Turbo, and Arcade editions eventually that'll bring back every character.

A friend of Maximillian's at Capcom asked him politely to take it down, so it's looking to be legit. If it was fake, Capcom wouldn't be striking down videos the way they are.

So what exactly was the story of Street Fighter 5

Someone had pointed out on another forum that this video was supposedly put out by Capcom Japan, plus with all the Japanese subtitles. That supposedly Street Fighter 5 is only going to be Ps4 and PC exclusive in that region. Just like destiny was.

If this turns out to be the case, I know a lot of people would feel a lot better,myself included. I just couldn't picture Street Fighter 5 being a Sony exclusive in the states. It actually has sold really well for the state., and I think Calvin would be stupid to do that. Japan is understandable, since the Xbox One has done abismal and is pretty much nonexsistant.

Just to have SFV announced is enough for me! Yoga hype~!!




Bahhhh. If it was gonna take place after SFIII, it would've been nice to skip Ryu all together, or at least have him shirt down, bandana off, with a sucking great scar on his chest. He could've been a fun post-SFIII boss character. Might be in and around SFIII, but I'm not expecting anything too linear (or progressive).

I hope it's exclusivity is only in Japan. I'm not a big SF fan by any stretch, but the genre isn't what it once was, even with the recent resurgence. Having one of, if not the biggest flagship series in the genre go exclusive would be pretty bad, even if it's timed. The more people that have access to FGs, the better. Unless, of course, Sony is bankrolling Capcom somehow, in which case, more power to them.

Aside from the impossibility of there being an SF without their flagship character, I (and it looks like everyone, it seems) want the SF characters to age a bit. I personally imagined him with one arm tied back a la Oro at that point, shirtless too.

Point in fact I'm pretty sure that's what USF4's Omega mode is about; they mentioned one of the reasons for it was to see how people would take to changes in the classic characters. This is almost guaranteed to be why. FIngers crossed.

I haven't taken SF's story seriously since Alpha 2, but it'd be nice if they tried to tie up all the loose ends.

I got a look at the models up close. Man they look cool. I really can't wait to see the game in motion for myself. I'll be getting it on the PC of course.
