WBIE & NetherRealm Studios Boost CEO MKXL Prize Pool

NetherRealm Studios may have moved on to their DC superhero sequel Injustice 2, but they want fans to know they aren't abandoning their 2015 best seller: Mortal Kombat X! Thanks to Warner Brothers, they're putting their money where their collective mouth is - adding $10,000 to the CEO prize total!

CEO 2016 takes place over the weekend of June 24-26 from Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. Mortal Kombat pools are scheduled to start 10am Saturday 25th, with finals taking place Sunday at 2pm. Start times subject to change.

The event is one of the final stops on the road to the 2016 Evo World Championships. 201 confirmed registered players will duke it out for Mortal Kombat XL supremacy on the PlayStation 4.

Will you be in attendance? Register to share your story and issue challenges on the Gameplay & Matchmaking forum! MK Online wants to hear from you!

RE: WBIE & NetherRealm Studios Boost CEO MKXL Prize Pool

Meh.

Contributing money to a prize pot for Mortal Kombat X doesn't say "we still support MKX" in any way, shape or form. It says "We want our top players to continue playing and drawing free publicity for us while we rake in money hand over fist from the advertising and contribute meager amounts to the prize pot."

For NRS to say "we still support MKX", I would at the very least expect continued releases of new skins, another round of classic fatalities (they seriously use a render of Kano about to perform his heart rip as the dlc package flyer but they don't have it as a classic fatal?), and maybe one or two more characters. There hasn't been a peep of anything since MKXL other than Ed putting up a poll to ask who we missed the most in MKX, and a few snippet from my source saying that Pesina is doing mocap for more MK content. Otherwise, nothing.

There's nothing I care about in the world less than e-sports (Rofl...e "sports") video game tournaments. Bring me more game content, or don't say you're "continuing to support MKX".

Well, you all got your Tremor now. Can we finally move on?
