I'm not very fond of Kabal gameplay wise. He is a classic though in my eyes. One of the first characters I have ever seen. Just his look is amazing. Behind the mask is a disgusting face. His story isn't one to be amazed at though. Leader of the new black dragon.

I want him to eventually come face to face with Kano, and his partner Jarek, the Red Dragon, and Jax, and Sonya, and they battle each other to the end. Kano not agreing on the whole new black dragon, and the others just hating it. In the end, Kabal should be killed by Kano.

kabal did have some moves I liked. His ability to shoot in the air. His hooks. His dash, and that razor thing. Cool moves.

i get a feeling that kabal will try and kill kabal and kano trying 2 get the black dragon to himself which will result with his demise after all he seems to me like a wannabe johnny cage so kabal will have this massive scrap with kobra and get his chest ripped open by kabals hookswords (man those are cool)

Kabal should go back 2 a vigilante and help out the heroes the black dragon probaly won't make it to next gen mk the tekunin have a high chance though.

I think it would be cool if Kira and Kobra turned on Kabal and joined with Mavado, but in the end (as much as I hate to say it,) Kabal ends up killing Mavado, and maybe one of Kobra or Kira, the other one escapes, and is slayen by Kano. Long live the Black Dragon clan!!! I would also like to see Kabal, Kobra, and Kira team up and kill Hsu Hao then corner Mavado. Hmm.............

Mavado's weapons would be dual sickles, like Tanya's, only different. And Kabal did get his hookswords back.

well I'll discuss my likes and dislikes with Mavado when his time comes.

But Kabal has turned from a bane to a gift, too many times have my friends picked Kabal and totally owned my ass in MK3, even with my cheese moves with Sheeva and Stryker, I finally had to use Kang since he's got the best cheese moves (though I hate that guy with every fiber of my being.)

ANYWAY, Back on topic: I learned Kabal in Deception's Konquest, and I'm quite happy with him. I'd love to see his in-air combos and to perfect them shall be most choice.

as for story wise, I don't really give a carp wether or not he's a lone fighter or a Black Dragon leader, he's Ka-fuckin-bal. I'm glad he's pickin up the reins of Black Dragon, Kano wasn't doing a good job with it anyway. Kira and Kobra are in good hands with Kabal. Kano and Sonya are their own thing. a war with the three BD members going against Mavado, Hsu Hou and a possible third Red Dragon member (possibly Jarek, yeah I know don't hold my breath I know the story.) would be great to see all by itself, Mavado and Kabal are evenly matched. If Midway is smart they'll focus on this war and the overall winner, well it should be obvious the prize being carried to Next-Gen glory.

With all the technological advancements in the MK-niverse, why doesn't Kabal get facial reconstructive surgery? He'll still need a breathing apparatus but we can still see his face.

Kabal IMO shouldn't have a story with Kano in MKA
I think Kano is now wrapped up in his feud with Sonya and status as a great general of Kahns armies. (however now actually ive written him in the story see bottom of post)

Kabal however should end up as one of the protagonists of the black/red dragon war.

I think its gonna be

Kabal, Jarek and (One of Kira or Kobra)
vs
Mavado, Hsu Hao and (One of Kira or Kobra

I see Hsu Hao slain by Jax elsewhere, Jarek encountering Red Dragon then flees to Kano. Kira and Kobra realise they can exploit Mavado and Kabal by taking them on 2vs2. So Mavado and Kabal have to team up!
They KILL Kira and Kobra and disband both Black and Red Dragons. However Mavado falls in ambush to Jarek and Kano later on.

Finally, Sonya and Kabal slay Kano and Jarek.

Many of the other special forces die in Armageddon, including Jax/Kenshi/Cyrax and so Kabal is made Sonyas new partner.

TIme to start the next character people... and who goes first? Why none other than one of (perhaps even, THE) most unpopular MK characters of all time. Kurtis Stryker!

Kurtis Stryker was a Riot Cop in Earthrealm. One day Shao Kahn's portal opened above his city and Stryker soon found himself alone in a city once populated by billions. Stryker was ignorant of why his soul was spared, but he was given a vision by Raiden to travel west, there he learned why his soul was spared and joined the Earth warriors in their fight to defeat Shao Kahn and take back Earth.

That's Stryker's story so far, right there. It's not known what happened to him after, nor do we know where he is. (In MKD Konquest, he's trying to become a Seiden Guard, but we don't know if that's canon)

Stryker's definitely not in my favorites list and there is not much to say about his story for obvious reasons. While the MK Team has said they're trying to make Stryker more "techno" so he could be more popular, Game Informer has suggested he'll probably die. I wouldn't be surprised.

It's true a lot of people hate Stryker, so it's obvious he's gonna bite the dust. The most likely way he'll fall is fighting Blaze, as I can't see any type of nemesis that he has.

Another way is he could be killed by Shao Kahn, that would be interesting, as he invaded his home planet and took all of his fellow people's souls. It would be ironic to see Stryker trying to be the avenger only to get owned in the end.

I could also see him getting involved with the good guys, so he would be killed by the Tekunin, or the Tarkata, or Noob's Cyber Ninjas. That's probably the second most likely choice for him to out.

One thing, based off on Vash's endings, is he could be killed by Chameleon, while he kills Chameleon in the process, that too would be interesting to see.

Other than that? Yeah, Stryker's most likely going to die.

The Incredible Tonerz is here and I do like Stryker, strongly enough to warrent 2 possible reasons for why he comes back after a long absence and even (GASP!) a reason why he is back!!

Where was Stryker?
Option 1: He was just a NYC Riot Cop, he had a family, and Shao Khan took his family away, that is why he fought, but when Khan fell from power, and the souls of Billions of Earthrealmers returned, including Stryker's Family, Stryker stayed with them.

Where was Stryker?
Option 2: Dead, Dead, Abso-FRACKIN-lutley D-E-A-D! His soul, like Kang's was taken by Shang Tsung and placed in the Soulnado, When Raiden leveled the palace, Stryker was brought back to life, as he was and still is, one of Raiden's Chosen Earthrealm Warriors.

Why is Stryker Here Now?
1 single word: KOBRA, who is also known as Ken Stryker, Kurtis' snivvely, overzealous and psychotic younger brother. When Kobra was picked up by Kabal and Kira and became a prospect to be in the Black Dragon, Kurtis rekindled ties with Sonya and Jax and the OIA to find Kobra and bring him in, alive if possible.

Think that can work?

Even though Stryker isn't one of the most popular character, I like him. He doen't have much storyline, we only know that he was a cop before become a choosen warrior. I also think that they can develop a rivalry with Kobra (another unpopular character) from this scenario.

Maybe they were enemies before Shao Kahn's invasion and now they would cross paths again. Since Kobra is a Black Dragon member now, Stryker would have to side with his old allies, Sonya and Jax, again. With the return of both Dragon clans, Stryker's help would be welcome for the Special Forces.

There is also a possibility for him being one seidan guard, but I don't think it'd work. It seemed that it was the only manner they thought to fit Stryker in Deception's konquest.

My guess is that Stryker will die on that Black Dragon- Red Dragon- Special Forces conflict. I'd like to see him surviving but since they are planning to kill off a lot of characters, I can't see an unpopular character such as Stryker surviving. Even though I don't think that if a character is unpopular means that he's bad.

Stryker, Stryker, Stryker. Oh how hated you are. I can tell you why too - you're B-O-R-I-N-G. You're someone I could walk out into the street and see. What's so exciting about that. You're just a boring cop with a boring storyline, but you do have exceptional moves, I'll give you that. Well you haven't had a fair share a games (wonder why), I feel things might change this game.

It is assumed Stryker just went back to being a cop after MK3. Seems he's been training in his absence too. With a overhauled look, he is looking cooler than ever (his last and only game actually). We might have a new Ian Hunt on our hands here. High-tech gadgets and action jumpsuit make him look a lot better than his donut-eating cop outfit. In fit and in shape, he has probably out fighting crime while through MK4-MKA. I for one think he has nothing to do with Seido story, and I rather he not. Stryker has never really fit in anywhere, and one of the biggest places is the Orderealm. It's just not is style. For one, Stryker is good. Why would he be helping the Dragon King (if he is a Seidan Guardsman)? He thought what happened in MK3 was bad, how about never seeing anything again? Besides that, I'm sure their orderly ways wouldn't allow his choatic style. Most things in MKD's Konquest was non-cannon. If it wasn't in the main story, it probably isn't true. After all, it was just a sidequest.

What I would like to see him doing is cracking down on crime, which means he has potential to be involved with the OIA. He doesn't necessarily have to join Sonya and her crew, but he could help. Stryker might have a possible fued with Kobra, as he was a street thug killing people, or Kira, if he is a special ops agent, and knows she was dealing with terrorists. This is really the best place for him in my view.

Again, Kira and Kobra are open to be killed by anyone. Kano and Jarek for Sonya, Hsu Hao for Jax, and Mavado for Kabal. If you read my Sheeva prediction, I'd like to see her take down Kira since she is on a mission against Kano, so that leaves Stryker with Kobra. Another interesting twist to the story is that Kobra may be Sonya's long lost brother for some odd reason, and this could create tension between Stryker and Sonya. The chances are unlikely, but still.

Although Stryker may not be popular, I could see a possibility of him returning to MK8. He really has no solid enemies for him to be killed by, but the future is unknown. I can't really decide on him at this point. I will have to wait until the game.

Option 1: First off, nothing in his story says that he's from NYC. All we know is that he's from some big city in North America. Secondly, we don't know anything about his family, and we certainly don't get a mention of one. Lastly, it's Shao Kahn, not Shao Khan.

Option 2: There was no mention of Stryker ever fighting Shang Tsung and he certainly didn't join up with the heroes in MKDA. However, it is possible that Stryker and Shang Tsung fought with Stryker losing to him and Shang Tsung absorbing his soul. However, I think it'd be kind of silly and would be a bad explanation.

As for the Kobra/Stryker thing, it's not impossible, but I don't like the idea. Also, you make it sound as if Stryker had some connection with Sonya, Jax, and OIA before.

Anyway, I pretty much agree with what Legacy said regarding Stryker though I wouldn't like to see him in the future MK games.

I'm pretty pissed off that I missed Kabal while I was away... My #2 favorite character...

Anyway, my view on Stryker is that as much as I like him, I am 99.99% sure that he is going to die. Perhaps he could join the Special Forces/OIA, but that would be a bit obvious. I really don't know what to think about him other than who brings him down.

well to be honest ive always though stryker was awesome i dont no why anyone would hate him he had awesome special moves and his fatalitys were pretty cool.

Im very sad to say that he will most likely be killed off even though he looks so kool now.

His nightsticks are an interesting new weapon even though they resemble jax's tonfa and will probebly be the same.

And at least even if they kill him off on the e3 ml armageddon video ed boon said that he will be slightly stronger than the rest caus he was one of the makers fav characters and he was an orphaned character of mk3
