Stryker shud not mix wid sonya, thats too predictable, instead he shud be against havik.

reason not bcoz of the seidan guardsman story, thats just bollocks.

its bcoz he has riot gear and is a riot cop and shud be against chaotic riots, ie chaos.

how midway fit this into a story is not my problem.

IMO he should join the Special Forces/OIA, even if that is the obvious thing to do. He should not be a Seidan Gaurdsman. To me, he's always been the badass Earthrealm "hero", and I don't want that to change.

But I'm just glad he's back.

Stryker, my seventh favorite character. I have a lot of respect for Stryker and because of this and the way the MK team seems to work I honestly see him as:

A. Going out in a blaze of glory taking out two or three lesser villains.

or

B. Surviving and being put into the next game.

I've basically established it as fact, at least in my own little world, that if Stryker survives he will certainly be put into the next MK.

In my opinion stryker is the most cliche character in the MK full rooster, he has nothing original in him, he's just a riot cop with no value in the greater plotline. He is redundant, he is completely unoriginal and he isn't even worth a story. I hope he will be eliminated from the MK series for good after MKA. If he is to continue it is obvious that he should join the special forces, a faction that i really hope we get rid of together with the dragon clans.

i hate to say this but that video at e3. stryker completely annihilated shinnok(one of my faves). he is a favorite as another MKO member said and he has a new special(tazer grapple thing sorta like a scorpion spear type attack) whats cooler than a tazer. nothing thats what. no enemies. while he is very hated many people like him(no one looks at that part). i could see him living as no one is his enemy(maybe kobra but thats it).
Well, three days are over. Time for another character. (Most of the new MK3 characters only appeared in one other game after their debut except for Cyrax and Setkor) And so now... Nightwolf, who was probably the most hated new MK3 character, (but definitely behind Stryker) but I'm just guessing.

Nightwolf is the historian and shaman of his tribe. Before Shao Kahn's invasion, Nightwolf received a vision from Raiden and he managed to protect his homeland through shamanic magic. The other Earthrealm warriors used his homeland as sanctuary from Shao Kahn's Extermination Squads, making it a vital threat to Shao Kahn's invasion.

After Shao Kahn's defeat, Nightwolf presumably decide to resume living a normal life. (This would explain why he did not partake in the fight against Shinnok and the Deadly Alliance)

Years after Shao Kahn's defeat, Nightwolf received a vision of the Dragon King's coming in his dreams. To combat the Dragon King, Nightwolf absorbed the sins of his tribe. (thereby becoming a "Sin Eater") Nightwolf set out on his own to the Netherrealm, to bind the the Dragon King's soul to the dreaded realm.

Anyway, Nightwolf's one of those characters that I don't really care for. I could care less about what happens to him. My guess is he'll go back to living with his tribe or he'll die somehow. Though I have a feeling that his journey into the Netherrealm may actually be the cause of Shinnok's return. (When he's preparing to release his sins to bind Onaga, Shinnok instead uses it to escape into Outworld and Nightwolf is expelled from the Netherrealm because he had released the sins of tribe) Just a thought.

I don't care for Nightwolf, but I do find that whole Sin Eater thing to be interesting, namely because it can lead him into being a bit of a loose cannon. However, since he doesn't really have any known interaction with many characters, it's kind of hard to really give him a hell of a story in this game. I'm not sure where his story should go and whether he should live or die let alone be in the next-gen MKs or not.

Overall, I don't have that much to say about him.

Nah, Stryker is definitely still my most hated. But Nightwolf also did a poor job of impressing me. He really served no purpose in MK3 except for giving the good guys a place to retreat, and same with MKD. I hate his stereotypical Native American look, it bothers me a lot. I was pretty pleased to see he did have Tae Kwon Do, however. Overall, he is just a very bland character and I'm even suprised he was popular enough to make the MKD cut.

It seems Nightwolf was last seen heading into the dark recesses of the Netherealm to trap Onaga's soul there. However, it seems he was uneventful on that part and I'm assuming that's still his goal this game, or maybe something else. I really like what you said PNF, it's an interesting note, as I doubt that the whole soul trapping cherade won't go as planned. That might make an interesting fued for Nightwolf.

Going along with that, Nightwolf is expelled from the Netherealm and now has to chase Shinnok down. I'm interested to see who is still on his side after the fall of him in MK4. I think he might still have the Brotherhood of the Shadows supporting him, so that means Reiko is second in command. Shinnok should be saved for Raiden, as they have a good fued already established, so that leaves the mysterious warrior to Nightwolf. This is an odd kind of grudge in my eyes, and I can't see it happening. Meat could work, however. It is possible that he could be one of the zombies roaming the Netherealm, and Shinnok has gained their power. Since I know nothing about Meat at this point, I can't say for sure.

Other than that, Nightwolf really has nothing to offer to the table. He could be killed off by Shinnok, or he could go on. I rather he not have a place in future MKs as he is rather useless, but I guess it's ultimately up to Midway.

he is a pretty cheap character in MKD with his reflecter barrier thing and his lightning strike but not all native americans look like that so i say let ed decide wtf to do with him.

Well i find Knightwolfs projectile repel move absolutely useless, considering we can now strafe side to side away from it or jump etc.

But other than that i dont believe he is a bad character, poorly used however, i think that your shinnok link would work quite well and i think that that very well could be how midway could do things.

I dont believe he will die because there is no real need for him to do so, some characters have terrible rivalries which must come to a conclusion, and some just have to die in order for them to be away from the game, Knightwolf can just merely go back to his tribe and that will be all she wrote.

I will admit I used to hate Nightwold because I thought he was a cheap rip-off of the Native American character in SF2Turbo.

But when I first started playing Deception's Konquest, it was with a bunch of friends and we were trading off the controller for training missions and I got Nightwolf. When I trained with him it was most enjoyable and I was able to pull off combos toot sweet, even style-branching ones in which I always had trouble with.

Needless to say I like Nightwolf, I hope he progresses through, He's one of those characters who does not need to be tethered down to anyone else's storylines and this new roll as a Sin Eater is most interesting.

Being a Sin Eater is able to grant Nightwolf long life, nearly immortal. For more info on Sin Eating watch "The Order" starring Heath ledger.

Thus I do believe he's going to progress to Next Gen. We need a Sage, plain and simple.

Nightwolf is pretty high on my list because of his story. I like him as the kind of behind the shadows anti-hero type. Hopefully he gets a somewhat bigger role and survives MKA. I like the way he played in MKD (well, that's only because he had TKD, but his Tomahawks were fun to use) Nightwolf doesn't really have any enemies, I don't see why he won't survive.

The Answer to that question is yes...

Anyhow, I think Nightwolf is a prety okay character that had some potential that they just never did anything with. I don't think that he's going to die but I think this will be his last MK game as a playable character. I have a feeling that MK8 is going to be set many years off into the future and by that point he'll be old man trying to guide the new Mortal Kombat generation.

Well, though I can see Nightwolf retiring, I can't see him dying. I dunno why, unlike Stryker, where he can be killed because he's all over the place, Nightwolf is quiet, distant. He might be killed by Shinnok, that's one possibillity to consider. However, he is probably most likely to retire and perhaps start a family who will become part of a story in the next-gen MK.

Fixed. wink Now I wish I had participated in the Stryker discussion when I had the chance. sad
Anyway, Nightwolf's an interesting character, and one of the very few who's literally a lone-wolf; he's not tied down to any of the other Kombatants, and that's a huge positive for his chances of survival because he has no direct enemies. Perhaps he'll go through Armageddon completely unnoticed, either killing lesser enemies or using his magic to protect and strengthen his allies (if he could put a barrier around his entire homeland during Shao Khan's invasion, how har could it be to make one for a group of less than 30?). I have a hard time seeing Nightwolf as a big player in this game, but perhaps in the future, when the worlds change, we'll see the Amerindians prosper, and NIghtwolf as their leader, savior, and main magic-man. smile

Nightwolf is easily one of my most disliked characters. In MK3 he was only another choosen warrior who even didn't face anybody. Then he reappeared in MKD, trying to defeat Onaga. Yeah, he and almost half of the cast.

In his MKD's bio, he said that his soul is being corrupted and that he can become a threat even to those who he care for. And since now he is in the Netherrealm, I'd like to see him being affected somehow. Maybe his soul can be corrupted in such a way that he can't control his instincts anymore. Then he would have to be sacrificated by his own allies.

I also liked the idea of him being the responsible for Shinnok's return. It would make his presence in MKD worth. And he would probably join Shujinko in Dark Raiden's death list because of that.

Nightwolf isn't a character that I'd like to see in the next generation. I think he is more likely to either retire or dead. But if he returns, I hope at least that he isn't just another guy trying to defeat a threat. It's very boring.

hmmm well i could see him living as if he was to die it would be by blaze cuz hes really never got his ass kicked by another character so who knows maybe he will live. id like to see some new special though. and about the barrier in MKD jumping was a bitch in MKD so u cudnt really jump over it.

I feel like he's most likely to die.

The guy seems way too headstrong. I find it quite odd that he never really joins anyone in a mission...even though he is on the good guys side. Nightwolf always seems to run off by himself...without consenting other people.

I feel like that will be his downfall.

Night wolf i wasn't as interested in. I think he just had a hard time fitting in, which is a shame cause i actually liked the idea of having a various amount of cultures in mortal kombat. But in defenders of the releam series i liked him.

I hope they give him more potential than visions though. Like what if he's wrong with one of the visions or he gets a huge guilt trip for making a vision come true by trying to stop it. I think that might be fitting.

I like Jerrod's ideas. Nightwolf may well be a key player in the final battle, perhaps he could even use his magic to bring somehow back from the dead, or perhaps he'll sacrifice himself to save everyone.

As you can see from my sig, I'm a nerdy Nightwolf fangirl. Not only does he have the best name ever (wolves are my favorite animal), but he's a Native American and...well...Native Americans are hot.

I don't really have any ideas for this man in the shadows, but I like the idea of him being an old man in the next gen, teaching the new fighters.
