What are you talking about? confused

Anyway, Liu Kang was a character that I didn't like that much before, but now, I kind of appreciate his story a bit more, but that doesn't exactly mean that I'm a fan of him. I'm sure that his story will involve the main villain as well as Dark Raiden and maybe characters like Shao Kahn, Goro, and Shinnok. He actually has a lot that can go for him for this game in terms of story.

I'm not sure what kind of ending I'd like for him. I guess he should get a happy ending and be with Kitana and all that good stuff, that way, he can finally get it on if you know what I mean. wink grin

lol, anyhoo, I imagine him being like the next (original) Kung Lao in that he'll be known throughout the realms as a legendary hero and maybe we'll see a character in the future MK games that'll try to be like him or something like that.

No.... Sonya's discussion starts tomorrow and we need somebody to write her storyline and send it to me for review and editing...
Here's Sonya's story:

Sonya Blade is ranked Lieutenant in the United States Special Forces. Daughter of a retired major and had a twin brother named Daniel, who died due to unknown causes. She became close friends with her superior, Major Jackson Briggs and developed a fierce rivalry with the Black Dragon leader, Kano.

Sonya tracked Kano to Shang Tsung’s island; where she and her men were captured by Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung made her an offer: if she were to win the tournament, her team would be released.

It was during this time that she met and became friends with Liu Kang and Johnny Cage. She apparently developed a love-hate relationship with Johnny Cage. Sonya lost to an unknown competitor (possibly Kano) and her men were executed. Devastated at the loss, Sonya nevertheless assisted Johnny Cage and Kano in fighting Goro after his defeat at the hands of Liu Kang. The three had Goro on the ropes, but after Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung, the island began to crumple and Sonya, Kano and Goro fell to their apparent deaths.

However, it turned out that Sonya and Kano did not die, but rather they ended up in Outworld. There they were captured and imprisoned by Shao Kahn. Sonya was tied to a pedestal in Kahn’s courtyard, fortunately, her partner Jax, was able to set her free. He also released Kano. When the Earthrealm Warriors fled Outworld and returned to Earth, Kano once again escaped custody and fled back into Outworld, but Sonya and Jax both knew that they would cross paths with him again.

Sonya and Jax tried to warn their superiors of the impending Outworld Invasion. Lacking proof, they could only watch helplessly as Outworld began its invasion. Sonya was one of the Chosen Warriors, whose souls were protected by Raiden. Sometime during Outworld’s occupation of Earth, Sonya had a final showdown with Kano.

The two were fighting on top of a skyscraper, Kano knocked Sonya into a gargoyle and Sonya feinted defeat, but when Kano grabbed a lock of Sonya’s hair, Sonya quickly seized the opportunity to get Kano into a headlock with her legs, with that she flung him off the building.

When Earth was returned to normal, Sonya had no trouble convincing her superiors to form the Outworld Investigation Agency, devoted to protecting Earth from future invasions.

Sonya then began tracking the last known member of the Black Dragon; Jarek. However, when she learned from Liu Kang of Shinnok’s invasion and that Raiden needed assistance, Sonya and Jarek put aside their differences to combat Shinnok.

After Shinnok was defeated, Sonya confronted Jarek and told him that he was to be turned in to the Special Forces. Jarek resisted and as he rushed her; Sonya moved aside as Jarek fell to his death.*

Later, Sonya and Jax helped the cyborg, Cyrax regain his lost humanity. He was elated and volunteered to serve the Special Forces. Many years later, Cyrax went missing during a mission in Outworld, Sonya sent new Special Forces agent, Kenshi to find Cyrax. However, Kenshi went missing as well. It is known that during this time, Sonya was en route to meet with Sub-Zero at the Lin Kuei Temple, it was there that she and his new pupil, Frost developed a bitter hatred for each other.

As Sonya and her team finished their mission of demolishing any known inter-dimensional portals, she received word from Jax that the Agency’s portal chamber had been destroyed. It was then that Raiden appeared and told her to go to Shang Tsung’s lost island to combat a new threat in Outworld.

Sonya, however, expressed concern about how to travel to Outworld since their portal was destroyed. Raiden said that he would address this issue. When Sonya arrived, she found Kung Lao, he seemed depressed but would not offer an explanation as to why. The two sparred until their fellow Earthrealm warriors arrived.

When Sub-Zero and Frost arrived, Sonya immediately attacked Frost, but the two were eventually separated. As they waited for Raiden, Sonya realized that she had no plan of attack; she only knew for sure that she had to find her fellow agents.

After she learned of the Deadly Alliance’s formation and Liu Kang’s tragic death, Sonya and the others traveled on Shang Tsung’s celestial ship and through a celestial portal. But first she had to face her worst enemy. Sonya believed it to be Frost, however she was quite surprised to see a stranger with an image of a red dragon on his back.

In Outworld, Sonya tirelessly looked for Kenshi and Cyrax, but was unable to find them. She took part in the final battle with the Deadly Alliance, it was there that she and her allies were killed. As Sonya lay on the battlefield, dead, the Dragon King approached her corpse and resurrected her and her fellow allies. She became Onaga’s slave.

My thoughts: Sonya's story has been fairly average. But the main problem is while she's gotten some development, she hasn't really changed that much in the long term. Personally, I see Sonya as one of the least likely candidates to die, perhaps she'll marry Johnny Cage? That'll probably happen.

I think she will die shes not an extreamly popular person in the franchise who will miss her THAT MUCH...she has had an average story line and i think its probably at its end she will fall in love fight kano whatch jax die and then she will die her self i think she should receive a fitting death something that does her justice. I think for the last game on the current gen they should change her controls alot she needs major fixing but she gould be a fun charactor to play if her attacks were better

I will miss her that much! She's my favourite character.

Sonya is a very interesting character and has mammoth potential, beyond the Black Dragon rivalry which itself had potential. During MK4, Sonya had become obsessed with the Black Dragon, almost single-handedly wiping out the organisation, her own personal vendetta, Jarek was the last member. I always liked the obsession idea around MK4, made her kind of darker, deeper.

Sonya has experienced alot of loss, theres the death of Daniel. The death of Johnny Cage ( however that was retconned) her own defeat in the tournament (even though that hasn't been officialy noted yet) led to the demise of her entire team. Her own death, death of her friend Liu Kang and yet she is often portrayed as a true hero. Without questioning she follows Liu Kang into the netherealm. She travels to Outworld to save Kenshi and Cyrax. Even in the MKSM intro (non-cannon but still) she launches herself at Goro whos twice her size. Even though I like Kano, only one of them can survive, a truce between them now isn't going to happen so it's time Sonya killed Kano for good.

Sonya's Future: A more emotional, darker, harder, tougher Sonya would be great. She wiped out the old Black Dragon but theres still a little matter of a) their resurrection b) the new ones c) the red dragon. I want Onaga's control of her soul to have some effect on her.

Sonya is my favorite female character I would hate to see her die. I don't think she really likes Johnny Cage. There's no real evidance of that, except for in the movies but the movies are non-canon. I would like to see her fall in love with Kenshi. They are about the same age and they are both on the Outerworld Investigation Agency. And Kenshi isn't a dork like Cage is wink They also need to get her classic moves back like Lag Grab, Ring Toss, and Square Wave Punch. I do like her new Kiss of Death move, too.

I think Sonya will have a great story in MKA. Both Sonya and Kano are popular characters and one or the other will be dead afterwards. If Sonya has a future after MKA, she, Jax and Cage will go off and fight the new Black Dragon. (Sonya vs Kira possible new rivalry?)

I was just thinking about this, but I wonder if Sonya's story will also tie in with Stryker's story. Stryker is a cop. I wonder if he knows much about the black dragon. I think it would be awesome if Stryker and Kobra's storylines ties with each other. Sonya teams up with Stryker, along with Jax.

Sonya is my third favorite female character. She has a great storyline. Sort of like Scorpion's story with Sub-Zero. She wants kano dead. She wants revenge, sorta. She was the first female character in MK. That makes her somethingconfused

Gameplay wise she is okay. UMK3, she was the best female character to play as. Her bicycle kick is one of my favorite moves. That and the leg grab. Her trademark move. MK4, I never played as her (because I was like 7, and I was a ninja fanboy.) MKDA she wasn't good. She wasn't bad either. But I usually played as other characters like Kitana, Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Shang Tsung, and Frost.

This is an excellent thread, too bad I didn’t noticed it was sticked before, I would had participated in the other characters discussion as well.

Anyway, since its my favorite character we are all talking about now, Im going to post an analysis that covers her: Character, Storyline, Game appereances, and special trivia. Most of this info was submitted by me in Wikipedia and I contribuited in editiing some stuff though for some reason the page cant be edited and fixed at the moment.

Who is Sonya Blade?

Lieutenant Sonya Blade is a member of a top United States Special Forces unit. She is a sternly beautiful, tough-as-nails lieutenant. Her impulsiveness is catalyzed by her superior and good friend Major Jackson ("Jax") Briggs. Sonya represents a very emancipated and headstrong woman, but for all her stubbornness and pride, she deeply cares about the lives of her friends and comrades.

It has been theorized that her temper may be the result of insecurity issues. She has a long-standing enmity with the thug Kano, who may be responsible for the death of her former partner (or her twin brother Daniel who is also deceased), and stands for everything Sonya despises.

Sonya is the beautiful tough chick of Mortal Kombat, she has proved to be one of the most popular and powerful top-tier characters of the game ever since her appearance in Mk1. She is the female who has appeared the most in the series of Mk, even more then some of the main male fighters.

Is she in love with Johnny Cage?

Johnny Cage, her fellow Earthrealm warrior and friend, seems to view her as a romantic interest, and there have been indications of her having the same feelings toward him in all the published Mk comic books (official and unofficial), the movies and the game itself (view Johnny Cages ending).

I honestly hope to see them married in the end. It would be the perfect closure for both characters (besides completing their personal missions). They are a perfect couple, opposites and equals in different stuff, just what they need.

Top Tier Character:

Sonya has been a top tier character in her game appearances:

Mk1 (were she is the #1 bets fighter)
Mk3 (she is positioned in #8, she is the second most powerful female next to Sindel)
Mk4 (among the top characters)
Mk5 (no doubt one of the best thanks to her speed and fast damaging attacks)

Appearances:

Sonya has been involved in all Mk games one way or the other, and is currently the mk female who has appeared the most in all of them. A cool thing about her is that she always receives a new and different look, the creators are faithful in making Sonya dress sexy yet not half naked like the rest of the entire cast of females in Mk:

* Mk1- Green/Red outfit with white boots. Short hair and has earrings.

* Mk2- Green outfit with white boots. Short hair and has earrings.

* Mk3- Improved green/blue outfit with black and white (aerobics style) and a gypsy belt. Long pony tail and has earrings

* Mk4- New green/red/purple with black outfit that no doubt resembles Bridgtte Wilson from the first movie. She wears her trademark cap from the first film and has a long pony tail. She also has some strange weapon/bullet things around one of her legs.

* MkDA- She was finally given a military outfit that perfectly fits her tough personality, a completely new and improved look when compared to her other appearances. She wears a jacket, a tight torn shirt, tight pants, black boots and a sexy thong. This look is clearly a tribute for Sandra Hess, who plays Sonya in the second film.

Her alt costume makes her look elegant and important. She wears big boots with high heels, and with a military hat.

* MkSM: Again, she received a new look that was mainly inspired with her Mkda outfit. Her jacket is more simple and brown, but her tight black shirt and military-like pants are completely new. She was given the thong again and in addition, a sexy piercing that made her look classy. Her white-blond hair was tied in a short pony tail.

Weapons:

* Wheel-wind-blade:

In Mortal Kombat 4, her weapon was the wheel-wind-blade, a rotating sharp blade on a stick. She had the ability to grind her weapon in the flesh of her opponents. This is no doubt one of the most original weapons in Mk. It was fast, fun and deadly.

* Kali Sticks:

In Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, her weapons were the Kali sticks which are made from strong bamboo. Easily one of the top weapons in that game, extremely powerful and greatly improved in MKD (used by Kobra though).

Storyline:

Sonya was practically forced to battle in Mortal Kombat, unknowing that she was the chosen female that represented her realm againts the most brutal forces of evil. Sonya and her team were in hot pursuit of Kano, the leader of the Black Dragon organization. After he jumped onto a ship, they followed him to a remote island where Shang Tsung's Mortal Kombat tournament was being held. Upon arriving they were ambushed by Tsung's personal guard.

She had no idea she was there for a reason, she was the chosen female of earth. To keep her team safe, she agreed to compete in the tournament, not only that, but she also needed to fight for the world along side her new friends Johnny Cage and Liu Kang. Shang Tsung, however, had no intention of fulfilling his end of the bargain, and merely enjoyed watching her fight. He had her unit killed, and after he was defeated by Liu Kang, he took her and Kano prisoner to Outworld to appease the emperor, Shao Kahn.

Sonya was able to send a signal to her superior Jax from Outworld, however, and during the events of Mortal Kombat II he traveled to this ghastly world to find her. Jax made contact with the other Earthrealm warriors, and together they learned of Kahn's scheme to invade Earth. She was later freed and Kano arrested, but as soon as they had passed through the portal to Earth, Kano escaped and ran back into Outworld.

Sonya and Jax had other things on their minds, now, however. They tried to warn the United States government of the impending invasion, but they would not believe them. As such, they began preparing by themselves for the coming invasion.

When the fateful day finally came, Shao Kahn stripped Earthrealm of all human souls. However, Sonya and a few of other Earth warriors were protected. She was the only female in the entire planet to be protected from his evil, she alone remained as the worlds representative female.

Later on, Sonya encountered her old nemesis Kano on top of a skyscraper near Kahn's fortress. A fierce battle broke out between the two. Kano was winning the fight and kicked Sonya onto a gargoyle and pulled out a lock of Sonya's hair. Sonya feigned injury, but when Kano advanced to finish Sonya off she threw him off the rooftop performing her most infamous special move: The leg grab , allegedly finishing him for good. After Shao Kahn was defeated, Sonya bid an emotional farewell with the man she loved.

After her journey into Outworld and Shao Kahn's near destruction of Earth, Sonya became leader of Earth's own Outer World Investigation Agency. The Black Dragon kept crossing her path, however. Its last known member, Jarek, had fled to Edenia while Sonya was chasing him. This led Sonya and Jax to team up with Raiden, Johnny Cage and Liu Kang to free that realm from the Fallen Elder God Shinnok's grasp, and to prevent him from coming to Earth.

After Shinnok's defeat, in which Jarek had reluctantly participated to save himself, Jarek tried to kill Sonya, but died in the attempt (as recounted in Mortal Kombat 4). Before entering into Outworld, Sonya met with Johnny Cage who arrived in a OuterWorld Agency helicopter that was authorized by Jax. This info is revealed in the official comic book that was published when the game was released, written and drawn by the creators of the game. Johnny Cage flirted with Sonya a bit but she used sarcasm once again instead of showing her real emotions.

In this tournament she had to prepare her man for the menace Quan Chi had brought, her Agency had developed advanced technology that allowed her to create portals to travel trough the realms, thanks to Sonya all the heroes managed to travel back to Outworld. She would have to work with Jarek in order to survive (who she will encounter during the battle), but like said above, her instics will preval over muscles resulting in Jareks death.

Years later, Sonya would once again heed Raiden's call, this time to travel to Outworld after the Deadly Alliance had slain Shao Kahn and Liu Kang. For Sonya, this coincided with her search for two missing OWIA agents, Cyrax and Kenshi. She was devastated to discover about Liu Kangs death, but knew that she had to focus on the dangers that laid ahead, Rayden had come to her for a reason, Sonya had to protect and help her friends once again in battle.

Before heading for her mission she walked around with Kung Lao who seemed sad about something, she tried to console him. Then she had a small confrontation/rivalry with Frost, Sub-Zeros pupil. According to Sonya, she hated the arrival of the cocky arrogant female, a short fight took place between them were Frost was defeated (MKDA Konquest) but no more attention was given to this because Rayden had finally arrived to informed his friends of the new threat. Her instincts told her she couldn’t trust Frost, and she was quite right.

As for her partners, she was unable to find them, and was killed in a fight with the Deadly Alliance and its minions. Then she was resurrected (along side the other 4 heroes) and enslaved by Onaga (put under a spell to do his will).

Sonya in MKA:

I would love to see a new twist in her storyline, something different. Sadly, most of the classics wont get any new twists or improvements, this game is all about the closure of their storylines, so all I can hope is that she kills Kano (again, and this time let him stay dead), finishes her vendetta/obsession with the Black Dragon and deals with the Red Dragon if she has to.

Would be pretty cool to see something more about her rivalry with Frost too.

Hopefully, she marries Johnny Cage and retires for a few games till its time to see her back for more action. That would be the best closure ever for both characters: MARRIGE!!!!!!!!!!!

Special Moves:

Sonya Blade is one of the few characters in Mk to have a huge amount of Special moves in a game and in total.

* Leg Grab: One of MKs most infamous and memorable special moves. Sonya would do a handstand and grab her opponent with her feet and slam them on the ground. In both movies, she twists her opponent's neck, breaking it and killing her opponent. One of her trademark classic attacks. (MK, MK3, UMK3, MKT, MK4, MK Gold)

* Energy Sonic Rings: Conjuring her own mystical energy, Sonya would clang her wrists together and send out rings like whirlwind fireballs that would hit the opponent exploding and leaving rain-like drops of magical energy in the ground that would dissolve. (MK, MK3, UMK3, MKT)

* Square Wave Flight: She would take off into the air and fly across the screen with a punch to anyone who was in the air. In Mk4 she would leave a trace of mystic energy behind. (MK, MK3, UMK3, MKT, MK4, MK Gold)

* Vertical Bicycle Kick: She performs a great counter-air attack and rises into the air with a series of vertical kicks. (MK3, UMK3, MKT, MK4, MK Gold)

* Air Leg Throw: Using her legs she would once again challenge all rules of gravity, she performs a fancy acrobatic attack in the air by graving the opponent with her legs and tossing him/her/it to the ground. (MK4, MK Gold)

* Cartwheel Kick: Sonya would perform a fast and elegant cartwheel at her opponent kicking them on impact. (MK4, MK Gold)

* Fire Ball: Sonya does the same movements she did when performing her energy rings special move, but this time she would throw a purple fire ball that would hit the opponent, exploding with a whirlwind kind of effect.

* Flying Kick: Taking a page out of Liu Kang's book, Sonya would fly across the screen with a fast kick to the opponent's torso. (MKDA)

* Kiss Of Death: Sonya would blow a poisonous mystical kiss that would stun the opponent. (MKDA)

Fatalities:

* Fire Kiss of Death: This sarcastic fatality appeared in the series along side Sonya and has been her trademark fatality ever since MK1. She would blow a kiss (in which was a ball of fire) and the fireball would find its way to the opponent, burning him/her alive. (MK1, MK3, UMK3, MKT)

* Crushing Kiss Of Death: Another variation of this fatality was found in Mortal Kombat 3 in which she would once again blow a kiss and an amazing glowing orb would be hurled towards an opponent, crushing the opponent and leaving behind a pile of blood and bones. (MK3, UMK3)

* Slicing Kiss of Death: The kiss returns with a different style. She conjures an energy ball that destroys the opponents upper torso once it makes contact. (MK4)

* Leg Grab Death Splits: Sonya performs her leg grab trademark move and grabs her opponent with her legs, she holds them high for a couple of seconds before ripping his/her body apart by splitting her legs apart. (MK4)

* Poisonous Kiss of Death: Sonya conjures and blows a mystical poisonous mist, this is released from her mouth and makes its way to her opponent. Her opponent begins to choke and vomit out organs, food and blood before Sonya jumps in the air and crushes her opponent's head. (MKDA)

* ANIMALITY: Giant Eagle/Hawk: Sonya turns into a giant hawk and carries the opponent into the air before dicing them to pieces. (MK3, UMK3, MKT)

* FRIENDSHIP 1: Monkey Tricks: Sonya dances. (MK3)

* FRIENDSHIP 2: Secret Garden: Sonya salutes and flowers grow up from the floor. (UMK3, MKT)

Trivia: Some cool info you might not know...

* Sonya Blade (along side Scorpion) was revealed to be one of Ed Boons most favorite characters during an interview around the time of Mortal Kombat 3 (published in Mk3 Official Kollectors book, by EGM Masters series in 1995); Ed Boon stated that she was not only one of the strongest, but also one of the most popular fan favorites of the game.

* This are some small extracts of the Mk3 Official Kollectors book by EGM Masters (EB: Ed Boon, JT: John Tobias):

- EB: She is perceived as one of the strongest characters. Everybody loves her bicycle kicks move and the leg grab. She has improved big time.

- EB: I think a lot of people will agree she is one of the strongest characters later on...I dont know if its because shes female.

- JT: It was like that with Mileena. At the end everybody picked her. The plan is to make the characters equal. They are all created equal.

- JT: When we decided to put Sonya in the first game, we would always use Chun-Lee as an example. If you make them cool, people are going to play them. Guys aren?t so macho that they are ashamed to pick Sonya, because they can stay in the game with her and cant with somebody else.

- JT: As far as her look, we wanted the costume to have sort of a new and improved look. Introducing the black and white and making it look a little more stylized, it looks a bit more modern. If you see old Sonya and the new one, the old one looks a bit plain.

- Sonyas inner strength allows her to focus her bodys energies into rings of force. (This also clears the doubt of weather she had any Special Forces weapon in her wrist to do the rings)

- With mind control (just like Liu Kang) she defies gravity flying up from the ground in a stunning bicycle kicks.

- Sonya and Kano were the first Mk3 characters to be confirmed.

- She was partially inspired by the karate champion and movie actress.

* Sonya Blade was going to fight Jade (a green female warrior) during the first film in a secret arena, but the scene was never done.

* According to the comics, Sonyas was kidnapped to marry Shao Kahn in unholy matrimony, reason why she is absent from Mk2 and is seen chained in the background. Their marriage would had opened the barriers of the two worlds (Outworld and Earth) and Kahn would had been able to take earth as his own. The wedding was stopped during an epic battle between all the mk1 and mk2 characters.

* Ed Boon confirms in a video Interview that can be seen in the special edition of MK Deception game, that she is definitely going to return for a new Mk game.

* She was named after one of Ed Boons sisters (obviously her name is Sonya), he confirms this in a video Interview that can be seen in the special edition of MK Deception game.

Conclusions:

Sonya is a great character with potential, but putting aside all her positive points (fatalities, improved looks, top tier, appearances, etc), the thing that has had the most negative impact on her character is the never ending/ never evolving storyline.

While it shows how important and crucial she is for the forces of light, it gets too dull and repetitive after having the same missions/objectives in most games.

Hopefully she gets a new twist and a new mission in a future Mk game if she is to return.

For MKA she needs to:

- Save Earth.
- Kill Kano (again).
- Finish the Black/Red dragon members (remember her obsession).
- MARRY Johnny Cage!!!!!!!!

Actually, she is the second best female in Mk3/U/T. Sindel remains the top female at #6, Sonya is next as one of the top characters in #8.

Sonya was Top Tier in MKDA, that’s no doubt one of her best games since she is practically among the best fighters with damaging attacks, speed and extras like reversals and powerup.

She is the best character in Mk1 (#1) and among the best in Mk4 thanks to her long easy combos, speed and huge amount of special moves.

DaBlueBaron Wrote:
The guys at midway realy need 2 fix her moves 4 one, and her crap story line.

I agree with the storyline part, but I 100% disagree on the moves part.

She is one of the few characters who has received the most original special moves in the series! She has 9 in total not counting her damaging bone-breaker in Mk4. Check my post above to read about all her special moves. It was a pity she only got 2 in MKDA (her best game ironically).

Actually, there is plenty of evidence found in the unofficial AND official comic books. If you read the Mk4 official comic book you will see she has feelings towards Cage. He flirts with her and she plays hard-to-get-cold chick, but then she says something like “I might give you a chance”. grin

And Johnny Cages ending in MKDA could be a clue to what the team is thinking, hopefully they get married.

Kenshi is an excellent character and one of my top faves, but I honestly don’t want him romantically involved with Sonya, she and Cage are ment for each other! The beauty of it is that they are opposites/equals in many things, which makes them an interesting and fun couple, not boring.

She is the tough severe chick who gets softened by the funny guy and vice versa when Cage needs to be serious.

Am I the only one that thinks a relationship should start between Sonya and Kenshi? It's much better than Sonya and Cage.

Read above. grin Kenshi rocks, but Cage and Sonya are mento for each other.

It never says in the game that she likes Cage. Maybe Cage likes her, but I don't think she may like him like that. Sonya only likes Cage in the movies and we all know that the movies aren't canon. Unfortunately I think if Midway does decide for her to have a boyfriend, then they will probably make it Johhny Cagesad Maybe if they read this they will change their mind....I hope. -EDIT- Oh ya the whole comic book thing. Darn I hate how the best female has a love interest with the dorkiest guy in the game. -EDIT-
You know queve, I supposed that some discussion on past characters may be allowed? Hmm, I'll decide later. But queve, I had already posted Sonya's storyline so you didn't necessarily need to put that part in, oh well...

wow Holy merciful crap, that was so indepth... Good job queve! Although, like PNF had said, you didn't need to go into the storyline depth, since PNF did it... But either way, good job!

I think we should recap every time we finish a game; once we get through all the characters in MK1 (Ermac's not going to be brought in the MK1 discussion in case anybody's wondering), we leave the discussion for all the characters so that everybody can get a chance to talk about them before we move on to the newer players.
Anyway, I think I should give my own input now... I believe that after being a slave of Onaga's, Sonya may be a different person from what we're used to. Perhaps she may become a tougher individual, knowing that she's already stared death in the face and came back. Maybe she'll be influenced by the new Dark Raiden and take on a darker approach to handling her enemies, especially since she was not only killed, but her body was violated and used as a tool by the Dragon King; I know I'd be pissed off if I was somebody's zombie slave. I hope that in the next game, they depict her as a tougher character, someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goal, which has been to hunt down Black Dragon thugs, specifically Kano. That's one rivalry that I want to see resolved, even if both of them end up being killed. Actually, that's a nice idea, both of them dying with each other's hands grasped around their throats.
