No.

About JC, he is one of the classics, but to be honest, I am neutral on him. But his story s definitely not as empty as you would make it out to be.

I really like Johnny Cage...he was my fave character in MK Trilogy, and one of my faves in MKDA. He needs his old uppercut back because that move ruled. His storyline is admitedly....lacking....but they could make it good if they tried. I hope they bring JC into next gen with a great new story, and his old moves (high forceball, nut buster, red shadow kick etc)

Ditto

I am a Cage fan. I never really tried him out until MKDA. He was one of my best. So then I decided to try him out in MK3. He's even better then before. Now my bro's best character is Johny Cage, and he's a Scorpion fanboy! (He doesn't even like MK!!!!!) He's actually pretty good with him. MK2 he wasn't really that good, but no one really was. I was only good with a couple in that game. Subz Scorp Raiden Liu Kang Kung Lao. That's about it. MKSM killed him. He's ruined. "Oh no I just got Caged." That killed him.

Story wise there's no secret that he has a crappy one. They rectonned his death in MK3. The only thing he has going for him is Sonya.

He needs to win an award, get the girl(Sonya) get hired on that one show where they kick people in the nuts for the hell of it and that's about it. well, the furst two anyways
OK guys, we're going to start discussion on Reptile now. Jerrod, I thinkl you said you'd be willing to do his story?

I went back and edited what I wrote for Scorpion on the first page. After reading it a second time, I am wondering what the hell I was thinking when I wrote it for the first time.

ReignofRain, who had volunteered and had already written the bio, hasn't logged on yet to post it; if he doesn't post it by tomorrow evening, I'll write it myself.
Edit: Well, it's 5:30 over here, and RoR's neither posted in here, nor responded to my PM; therefore, I'll present the biography of the very first secret character in Mortal Kombat, Reptile.
Reptile was featured only in Revisions 3.0 and up of the original Mortal Kombat game, and was made by Ed Boon himself in a single weekend; rumour has it that even John Tobias wasn't aware of Reptile's inclusion into the game. In Revision 4.0, Reptile started the trend of secret characters poppong up at random intervals to reveal clues about how to fight him.
Reptile was brought into the game as the personal bodyguard of Shang Tsung, and is a member of an ancient race of creatures known as Raptors. He served Shang Tsung specifically, until MK3, when he started taking direct orders from Shao Kahn, his main goal to help Jade in tracking down Kitana and bringing her to justice for killing Mileena; however, by specific request of the emporer, Reptile is told to stop Kitana at all costs, even if it means her death.
Obviously, he doesn't kill her, and in the end, after Shao Kahn is defeated, Reptile finds himself in Edenia, bound, and being sentenced by Queen Sindel to serve a liftetime of hard labour in the Netherealm* for committing genocide against several species and being responsible for the death of millions. This is when he becomes a general in Shinnok's army of Darkness.
When Shinnok is defeated, Reptile returns to serve Shao Kahn. During this time, his mind and body began to change and de-evolve into a more primative state. Apparently, it's because Reptile was away from the Matriarch of his species for too long, and will eventually de-evolve further. The main consequences of this is that he experiences hallucinations several times when feeling strong emotions, like sadness and anger. Anyway, after a mission to retain Shang Tsung's services to defend Outworld from the combined forces of Edenia and Kuatan, Reptile learns of the Deadly Alliance's plans to kill off Shao Kahn and Liu Kang. As he returns to his master, Reptile is stopped by Nitara, who gives him a Kirehashi Blade, a weapon that belonged to his extinct species; she also leads him to a hidden military encampment for Kitana's men. After thanking her for the gift and the information, he hurries to Shao Kahn to reveal to him all that he had learned. Unfortunately, he was too late, and found Shao Kahn dead on the floor. He smelled that Quan Chi and Shang Tsung had beaten him there. He took full responsibility for not saving his master, and as he wandered around Outworld, he encountered Nitara again, and decided to pledge his life to her.
After she calmed him down and forgave him for attacking her (he hallucinated that she was Shang, Quan, and Kitana), she ordered him to attack an Earthrealm invader, and suggested that he damage the invader's arm panel to make the bout easier; this Earthrealm warrior was Cyrax. Reptile succeeded in damaging the arm panel (which was Cyrax's personal portal device), but could not defeat the cyborg, and fled once Cyrax attacked with his Slice and Dice cutter.
Although this part is not written in any of the games, this is the assumed story of what happened; Reptile realised that Nitara had used him to obtain Cyrax's services to retrieve the orb that bound her realm to Outworld. Once again, Reptile show's up a moment too soon, and realises that Nitara and Cyrax are alreday gone. Suddenly, Reptile notices a Dragon Embro, and as the tiny egg cracked, a beam of energy ripped out from inside and lanced into Reptile. His world was filled with roaring power as his squamous body was twisted and transformed. Reptile became the vessel for the Dragon King, Onaga.
*In the official MK4 comic, Reptile is sentenced to manual labour in the Cobalt Mines of "Shokan".
Reptile's storyline pisses me off. Why? Because in the majority of his endings, he betrays Shao Kahn because of how his people are treated, and in his MK4 ending, he acts as though he knows about Shao Kahn destroying his homeworld, and nothing is done with this; in MK:DA, he's stil serving Shao Kahn like a lost puppy.
Also, this has pissed me off the most as of writing this; apparently, in the special features of the MK:D disc, in his biography, it lists Khameleon as an ALLY. This angers me because this means that he MET Khameleon, which means that she told him about Shao Kahn being the reason that their race is virtually extinct, with the obvious exception of those two. For those who don't understand where I'm going with this, it's that Reptile had no reason to be loyal to Kahn in DA because he knew Kahn was the reason he's practically the last of his kind! What the heck is the point? This makes Reptile's whole reason for serving Kahn to be meaningless, even if he does "desire a master", why not serve someone else? Why not Khameleon, Kitana, Goro, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, or Quan Chi?
This also ruins the whole "Khameleon is the Matriarch" deal because this should have cancelled out or never even caused Reptile's de-evolution process, because he's obviously met her. Before anybody says "they could've met before she found out about Shao Kahn being Captain Genocide", but her MKT biography states that she's looking for Reptile then and there, never mentioning a past relationship with him. I hope Reptile dies now, because it's obvious that he's a complete moron.

What the hell? Your giving yourself a warning for writting garbage?

Anyways, like most characters, Reptiles went all over the place, I think he should manage to survive, but it should be explained why he was so ignorant to Kahns crimes.

Reptile's story is good. Oh, Jerrod the reason why he went back to serving Kahn is because since he was deevolving, he most likely forgot that Kahn killed his people.

Reptile and Khameleon should do it good and continue on their race. Why do you think he's so stupid, he's a lizard! Hopefully being controlled by Onaga gave him some brains while he possessed his body. If the whole thing with Khameleon doesn't happen, Reptile shouldn't return.

Since Reptile has lost every single mk there is, I’m hoping this time around he gets by MKA with some dignity. He’s been used and abused by all of his masters, Reptile could possibly get payback on them, or become yet another lackey.

Possible foes in MKA

Onaga
Shao Kahn
Shang Tsung
Quan Chi
Nitara
Cyrax
Kitana
Goro
Shinnok
Blaze (For ruining the egg he was supposed to protect.)

Reptile has always been the character that had to be there to make the game feel whole. MKD didn't seem as fun as MKDA. I don't usually play as Reptile, but he has to be there. He's an okay character gameplay wise. Bad story.

Reptile has to be sent back in time, and somehow save his race. That's what I want to happen to him in MKA
First of all, i'd like to say hi to everyone, being a newby and all to this site....

Anyway i personally agree with SubMan that Reptile should save his race of raptors and continue on to be in the next set of Mortal Kombat games... I've been a fan of Reptile ever since i played MKT and really hope he comes back with his human form or at least a secret section were you can play as him in his human form (like they did with Kung lao, Kano, Jax and Raiden in MK: Trilogy)

Personally, I like others dislike his story because he's taken no control and that's what i'd like to see him do... he's been abused by Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn and Nitara used him for her ideals, it's time Reptile made a decision. (i apologise if you are offended with me using your idea) but i agree with P.N.F that Reptile should obtain Onaga's Medallion and use it to gain time travelling abilities so he can save his race and all in all become somewhat king of the raptors.

Most likely forgot? If I found out my people were practically extinct because of a sinlge person, I'd have sworn them off entirely; in fact, I'd thank whoever told me with my eternal gratitude as well, and being the devoted servant that Reptile is, I bet that that's what someone with his kind of character would have done at the time, or at least after Shinnok was defeated. I refuse to believe that Reptile "forgot" something like that, but odds are, because that's how bad the writing and plotlines have become, that will end up being the whole reason why Reptile is not with Khameleon; he simply forgot that the only other member of his entire race exists and told him that the Raptors are dead thanks to his master.
No wait, it's Mortal Kombat; we'll imagine that Shao Kahn found a sacred amulet that erased Reptile's memory and made him the oblivious lackey he is right now.
Yeah, sorry if I sound pissed, but I just hate how much they ruined Reptile's story by simply adding Khameleon's name to that card and creating so many questions for his actions in the last two games.

Reptile is one of the tragic characters of the series. I'm not really that much into Reptile, but I think he has kind of an interesting storyline though I'm not sure where it could or should go.

To Jerrod: There are some things I'd like to point out regarding your story summary as well as certain other things.

I'm surprised you didn't mention about Jade turning on Reptile when they found Kitana during MK3. I mean, yes, it's obvious that Kitana's capture/assassination was unsuccessful, but I felt you could've added that bit in.

It does make sense that Khameleon is on his allies list and that she did tell him about their people, because in his MK4/MKG ending, he had an alterior motive for serving Shinnok and that was to ask Shinnok to send him back in time before Shao Kahn took over Zaterra and enslaved the Raptors. Sure, the ending never happened, but you can probably see where I'm coming from.

I know it does sound a bit ridiculous that Reptile knows that Shao Kahn enslaved and killed the Raptors but still served him in MKDA, but I think it's due to Reptile's primitive mind. I'm not saying that Reptile exactly forgot about that, but I think it's that serving Shao Kahn is something Reptile knows best as it's the kind of life he knows. I mean, with that primitive mind of his with all of the insanity, it could be plausible as to why he would serve the destroyer of his people.

Lastly, um, in one of the sentences, I think you mean Liu Kang and not Shang Tsung....

I dont know if its the reptile fan in me or not, but I think Reptile should come back with a vengeance. Remember back in MKI he was a secret character? He was a powerful fighter and I think in the game more powerful than even goro. He was a deadly assassin and a very good protector. Now they're making him one of the weakest characters in teh game. I think Reptiles primitive mind would in fact be the key as to why he continues to be a loyal servant to Shao Khan. I think if somehow he went to part ninja part lizardman than he would be something to be reckoned with because he would be able to control his primal instinct . Or at least do something that would make us respect him rather than pity him from being one of the saddest storylines in MK history. Like I said, make him a threat for any of his enemies.

Personally Reptile is My Favourite Characters Storyline and Moves wise.
I just he's great. Right now his storyline is in a decent place, there are many possible endings.

1. He realises he has been screwed over for the last few games, dives further into insanity and attacks basically anything that moves. He could kill a number of the people (EX: cyrax, Nitara and shang tsung) who screwee over but before he gets to them all, he meets with khameleon and they go to "New Zaterra" Or a better name, this would leave him to return in another game as Leader or the New Saurion Army, waging war on the other realm(s).

2. After being released from onaga's power, reptile realises an eye in his chest, the eye gives him an odd power to see past and future mistakes.
He sees that kahn killed his race, then sees his death by the hands of kahn during a war.
Hellbent on changing his future he hides in the shadows and perfects 3 fighting styles and his kireahashi weapon. Training for days he becomes faster and stronger than ever before.
as kahn's stench draws closer reptile jumps from the shadows and mutilates the emporer. Kahn is dead, reptile's revenge has happened.
The lone warrior runs off into shadows again for possibly the last time.

Theres more but i have no time....... wow
