Saying they suck isn't fact, it's just an opinion; unless you can back it up with reason, then all you're doing is spamming the thread anyway.

I think its going to be interesting how Kano interacts with Kabal and Jarek.
I wonder if there is going to be some fight for leadership over the Black Dragon.

So, its going to be Black Dragon vs Red Dragon vs Special Forces.

I have this feeling that Kano is going to just sit back and let the three take each other out. The special forces are going to win, where he has the huge showdown with Sonya.

Kano is an average character imo and so is his story. I have a feeling he'll die in this game, either at the hands of Kabal, Mavado, or Sonya. His story will probably tie into the whole neo Black Dragon thing with Kabal and a struggle between the two. There is kind of a lot that could be done in this game with him given that characters like Sheeva, Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and Jarek are in it. I mean, if he and Sheeva were to cross paths, I'm sure Sheeva wouldn't hesitate to destroy him.

Then there's possibly having to side between Shao Kahn and the Deadly Alliance. And of course, there's Sonya and Jax and the whole Special Forces on one hand with Mavado and the Red Dragon on the other hand.

Kano has had a lot of good luck in terms of cheating death, but I think in this game, his luck will run out.

Out of all the original characters, he is most likely a dead man. Maybe before he dies he takes out mavado. Edit to add, Maybe he just gets arrested. lol

Goro is nicknamed the Prince of Pain, and with good reason; at 8'2" tall, 550 pounds, and with four muscular arms, this guy's a monster. He is the Shokan prince of the realm of Shokan, which is ruled by his parents, King Gorbak and Queen Mai. Goro's brother, Durac, is not canon and was only introduced in unofficial comics and movies. He's also a lucky guy with the ladies, as he has seven wives. Sheeva is not one of Goro's wives, and if anybody tells you this, castrate them immediately.

Goro was introduced into the Mortal Kombat tournament by his former master, Shang Tsung, who used Goro to defeat Kung Lao and corrupt the tournament. He was Mortal Kombat's champion for 500 years, and with his last victory, Earthrealm's portal would open to Outworld for take-over... But then Liu Kang showed up and showed Goro how to really fight, knocked him out, and took his title. An infuriated Shang Tsung then sent Goro and a few hundred Outworld warriors to kill the Earthrealm fighters, and Goro faced off against Sonya, Johnny Cage, and Kano at The Pit.

As the island crumbled, Sonya, Kano, and Goro all fell, and wound up in Outworld, where Goro hid away for half a decade, ashamed of his loss to Liu Kang, and apparently leading to a war between the Centaurians and the Shokan. He returns after Shao Kahn's defeat, and takes his father's place as leader of the Shokan. He and Kitana help bring peace between the Shokan and the Centaurians once again.

As Goro and Kitana discuss the issue later on, Kung Lao comes in and grazes Goro with his hat. Surprisingly, Goro and Kung Lao start to talk instead of throttle one-another, and they both make peace. Goro's sorry to have killed Kung Lao's ancestor, and Kung Lao paid him back with the attack; some how, a fair trade in their eyes...

Anyway, while Goro's and Kitana's forces face-off against Shao Kahn's remaining militia, Goro is attacked by Noob Saibot (working under Shao Kahn's orders), and mortally wounded. He is thought to have died of his wounds... Until it turns out that a severely weakend Shao Kahn actually restored Goro's life force enough to make him a deal; if Goro helps Shao Kahn defeat the Dragon King, the Shokan will obtain Kahn's favour once again, and banish the Centaurians. Goro accepted, and left his royal seal on a disfigured Shokan corpse.

As of right now, he and Shao Kahn are building up their strength to take on Onaga; remember that it's entirely possible that he and Shao Kahn never fought Onaga, so don't start saying that the Shokan already have Shao Kahn's favour, as the deal was the they'd take on Onaga first.

The future for Goro... Let's see... Some how, I bet that Noob Saibot's assasination-attempt will lead Goro back to Shao Kahn, and then the sparks will REALLY fly! I would really enjoy seeing Goro and Shao Kahn fight, as they're the most popular super-powers in the series... Kintaro cries in a corner, clutching to Motaro and Moloch's shoulders.
In all seriousness, though I think that this willbe Goro's last MK, and that his death will be spectacular.
Goro's been the most classic subboss, but it's time for him to die. Let Kung Lao do him in.

Goro's time is up in MK. If any Shokan return, it should definitely be Kintaro, not him. It would be interesting to see a fight between him and Kintaro for some reason, or maybe Motaro. Maybe he could beat Noob's head in for revenge, since he almost killed Goro. If anybody should have the honor of killing him though, my vote is for Kitana or Kung Lao. He double crossed them and needs to be taught a lesson.

I want there to be a Shokan civil war, Kintaro and Goro taking opposite sides.

Goro should be winning, yet then encounter Kung Lao who annihilates him, turning the tide in Kintaro's favour who then is crowned new leader of the Shokan.

Goro's story has been kind of mediocre to me. The MK4/MKG-pre MKDA story stuff was probably the best stuff in his story. Now that he's serving Shao Kahn, it can set up for characters like Kitana and Kung Lao to tie into their stories. This will probably be the last MK game for Goro, and I think it'll be fitting. Who knows? Maybe we'll see some sort of twist in his story this game, not saying that he'll be back later on, but saying that he might do something surprising. Then again, I may be expecting too much.

For the love of... It says GORO in the thread title and people are still talking about previous characters from weeks earlier... Until we get past Shang Tsung, no discussion about previous characters will take place (after we do Shang Tsung, we'll have a week to discuss all the characters in MK1, then move on to MK2 new characters). I will delete any comments about any other character not being discussed from now on.

The Shokans are good, but they don't seem to use the four arms as fluidly as they could, I guess it is hard to envision how a four-armed humanoid would move like, let alone configure a fighting style for it.

Shokans are not really my fav the only Shokan I like is Sheeva. She can kill and beat tha hell out of any bad guy that stand in her way. Welcome back Sheeva.
I still like the idea of a Shokan/Centurian war. But if Goro should die then i imagine it would be spectuacular with him being 360 degrees of death before finally being taken out.
Contrary to popular belief, Shang Tsung was originally born on Earthrealm. Somehow, Shang Tsung angered the Gods, and as such, he was cursed to have to devour souls of defeated warriors in order to stay alive. (It is never said just exactly WHAT Shang Tsung did however)

In order to maintain his youth, Shang Tsung entered the Mortal Kombat Tournament, where he became the Grand Champion. Shang Tsung held this title until he fought a great and noble Shaolin Monk named Kung Lao.

Shang Tsung lost to Kung Lao and with it, the Champion Title that he held so desperately. Now he was aging rapidly, now here the information is vague, but it can be inferred that Shang Tsung was then either found or was taken to Outworld where he was enlisted by Shao Kahn to unbalance the furies of Earth, so Kahn could take the realm. During this, Shang Tsung created Mileena for Shao Kahn.

Shang Tsung trained a Shokan Warrior known as Goro for the upcoming tournament, and many years later, after the mysterious death of one of the tournament’s grandmasters, Shang Tsung returned with Goro by his side. Goro fought with Kung Lao, ultimately emerging the victor. Shang Tsung then devoured Kung Lao’s soul, gaining the knowledge to where the Map of Elements was hidden.

Shang Tsung then alienated the Shaolin from their own tournament as he covered the once sacred contest with his own corruption. Sometime after, he struck a deal with Quan Chi; he would reveal the location of the Map of Elements in exchange for Shinnok’s assistance in reviving Sindel.

Sometime after this, Shang Tsung assumed the disguise of an old man named “Song” to trick a warrior named Kenshi to opening a tomb of souls, this ordeal left Kenshi blinded as Shang Tsung devoured his ancestor’s souls and left Kenshi to die in the tomb. (Shang Tsung did not know that Kenshi managed to escape)

500 years later, the 10th Tournament approached, one more win and Earth would belong to Shao Kahn. Shang Tsung even personally invited Raiden, Earthrealm’s protector to the tournament. Before any victory could celebrated, Goro had been defeated by a Shaolin Monk named Liu Kang.

Enraged, Shang Tsung sent his army to kill the surviving warriors while he himself challenged Liu Kang to Mortal Kombat. However, not even the great sorcerer could defeat the young warrior, as with his Flying Kick technique, Liu Kang won the fight.

Shang Tsung retreated back to Outworld, where he begged Shao Kahn to give him a second chance. Convincing Kahn that by luring Earth’s warriors to Outworld, Kahn could crush them in a new tournament. Kahn liked the plan and restored Shang Tsung’s youth.

Shang Tsung ordered the Tarkatans to attack the Shaolin Temples, in order to lure Liu Kang into Outworld. Shang Tsung participated in the Outworld Tournament, and while it is not known who he fought exactly, it is unlikely that he won his match.

Later, Shang Tsung was made more powerful by Shao Kahn, so he could resurrect Queen Sindel in Earthrealm. Shang Tsung did his job, but nonetheless, Shao Kahn and his forces were defeated again. Shang Tsung was imprisoned by Shao Kahn as punishment for his failure to win the Mortal Kombat Tournament.

Shang Tsung spent several years in a jail cell; periodically he was released to perform tasks for the Emperor. Until he eventually regained the emperor’s favor and his freedom. One day, as he was sitting at his home, Reptile arrived to deliver Shang Tsung a message from Shao Kahn. Shang Tsung did not recognize Reptile and assumed it to be an assassin, the two fought until Shang Tsung recognized it was Reptile. Reptile delivered the message to Shang Tsung and then left. Suddenly, Shang Tsung heard a noise outside: it was Quan Chi finishing off Scorpion. Shang Tsung congratulated his fellow sorcerer on his victory, then Quan Chi made Shang Tsung a proposal.

If Shang Tsung was to revive the Dragon King’s undefeatable army with his soul transplantation ability, Quan Chi would open up a soulnado that would give Shang Tsung almost eternal life. Shang Tsung agreed to the deal, but added in that they would need to get rid of the only two beings that could stop them: Liu Kang and Shao Kahn.

Using Reptile’s message as a way to get close to Shao Kahn, the two sorcerers made their way to the Emperor’s throne room. In a false show of allegiance, they sprung their attack. Eventually Shao Kahn was killed by the Deadly Alliance.

Then, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi traveled to Earthrealm through a mystical portal known only to sorcerers and deities. At the Shaolin Temples, Shang Tsung disguised himself as Kung Lao in order to get close to Liu Kang. As Liu Kang was practicing his katas, Shang Tsung attacked the Champion.

Liu Kang fought back, and Shang Tsung surely would’ve lost if not for Quan Chi, who stunned Liu Kang with a projectile to the back. This gave Shang Tsung the moment he needed to kill Liu Kang. Shang Tsung snapped Liu Kang’s neck and devoured his soul.

They then returned to Outworld where they used the souls of conquered warriors to start reviving the Dragon King’s army. However, Shang Tsung did not fully trust Quan Chi and enlisted two oni named Moloch and Drahmin (who had a grudge against Quan Chi) to kill Quan Chi should he turn on him.

Eventually, the Earthrealm Warriors led by Raiden made their attack. Shang Tsung personally fought Kung Lao, who had come to avenge Liu Kang. Unfortunately for Kung Lao, Shang Tsung won the fight, taking Kung Lao’s life. (What is odd, however, is that Shang Tsung did not take Kung Lao’s soul)

Only Raiden himself stood in their way after the other warriors were killed in battle. Raiden fought with Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in front of the soulnado. Although the Thunder God nearly won, it took a combined attack from the Deadly Alliance to defeat Raiden.

Their victory was short-lived as Shang Tsung’s desire for Quan Chi’s amulet caused both to turn on each other. Shang Tsung was defeated, but before Quan Chi could relish in his victory, the Dragon King himself walked into Shang Tsung’s palace. Shang Tsung and Raiden both got up to assist Quan Chi. Not even their combined power was enough to defeat the Dragon King, so Raiden made a sacrifice play that destroyed Shang Tsung’s palace, and apparently Shang Tsung himself as well, for every soul that he had devoured, including Liu Kang, was released after Raiden destroyed himself.

Shang Tsung had has a pretty good story, but in all honesty, I think this will be his last game, he'll be killed by Liu Kang or Kenshi, either of them will work. But... that's not to say Shang Tsung won't go out with a bang...

Shang Tsung is kind of an iffy character for me. I don't really know how to feel about him. He has had a fair share of MKs, 1,2,3, and DA, now Armageddon. Personally, don't think he'll return as he is just another one of those characters who have nowhere to go now. Unless he somehow finds a way to regain control of the DK's army, it will be the end for him. Rightfully, he should be killed off by either Liu Kang or Kenshi.

Well, for one thing he has no souls anymore, thats gotta put a damper on his life, if he comes back to life. I'm pretty sure in MKA Shang Tsung will have completley lost all his power, no souls, no allies, this guys asking for death, most likely he'll make one last desperate attempt at domination by trying seize the Kamidogu. Most likely Kenshi will kill him, I think Liu Kang is a little to busy at the moment.
