Well i know there are character guides set up and everything but i thought i would make one single thread just about kabal and everything he is made of smile. Also CRKfiend made one of these for shujinko so thx CRK for giving me the idea lol.


Start off with Anti character guides

Jade-Jade has alot of bigger combos and has quite an exceptional speed. Kabal must be played defensively against her. You really want to use moves like d+4 and u+3 in wepn stance. u+2 is good but defensive wise, you don't really need it.

Kenshi-Kabal basically should own Kenshi everytimeunless you play stupid. Use the speed dash on him because of the fact kenshi is very slow except for his u+2 in wepon. You need to watch out for that. Use his big combos for an advantage when you use spped dash. Common sense.

Scorpion-Scorpion is fast, good plants, and strong against many characters. Also you need to go defense on him but if you offense is strong, pull off 50/50's if you can.

Mileena- Her 50/50's will of course piss you off i am sure so give her 50/50's right back of course. U+2 in wepon is very deadly against her. Also go for kabal's plants too. Like B+2 and B+1 in 1st stance. In 2nd stance 4,14,and f+2 are nice too.

Baraka- Baraka is a balanced character so you will need to balance out against him too. Just mix up everything you can think of. Offense is the better way to go because baraka is somewhat slow.

Sub-Zero-Go 100% offense on him if of course there are no ice clones to stop you. Sub is tp 3 in slow characters maybe even slowest. Speed dash owns sub on all levels.

Sindel- Her wepon is a pain with the low hits and pop-ups but they are easily broken with kabal's 50/50 so use it to your advantage. Sindel isn't exactly the best character fighting stance wise tongue.

Havik- Havik probobly has one of the best 50/50's in the game. don't go offense on him because you will get owned 80% of the time. Just lay back and turtle. When he comes to you, give him a speed dash.

Raiden- Another balanced character. If you go offense, he will plant the hell outta you and he has like 5 sweep attacks so its a pain to keep track of what he can and will hit you with confused. I would probobly go defense and waste time and wait for him to teleport to you so you can 50/50 his ass.

Lei Mei- Kabal owns her if you play your cards right on her too. Only thing she can really do to kabal is mix up easily broken 50/50's woth her wepon and 1st stance. Her 2nd stance is terrible.

Ermac- Go 50/50 on him because all he can do is nice lift combos and he has some nice plants. Just watch out for hs tele-lift and 50/50's with his stances because they can be deadly.

Nightwolf- He is slow but his 50/50's can be good against you. An awesome move against him are kabal's pop up attacks like u+3 in 1st stance or 2 in 2nd stance. 13 and 11+3 in 1st stance are nice too. Big combos can kill him pretty quick wink.

Bo' Rai Cho- Kabal really doesnt stand much of a chance against him. Just turtle and hope you hit him lol. When he tries to attack just keep throwing him. When you have a really good shot on him use the speed dash.

Noob Smoke- O god probobly kabal's biggest weakness in the game next to kobra. Just block,block and whore the shit out of u+2 in wepon. Watch out for throws too because they own kabal.

Tanya- She is a decent character but kabal's strong offensive production and combos should be able to slaughter her 50/50 in wepon and fighting stances. Give her some plants so distance is given and you will have time to plan a new quick attack on her.

Shujinko- Hard to beat but if you know how to approach him you will be off to a good start. Watch out for the pop-ups and special moves. Speed dash gets him all the time so use it to your advantage.

Hotaru- Basically same thing with havik. Except hotaru has a few nicer low attacks so he is a little more difficult. Watch out for those 50/50's because they can kill you big time!!

Ashrah- Huge combos, best throw in the game, outstanding spped and plants. Need to say more? Turtling actually works realy good on her most of the time so use itto your advantage smile.

Dairou- Since kabal has one of the best 50/50's on the game and best offensives he can beat dairou down pretty good. Don't throw though because that gives dairou a great advantage over Kabal since it breaks a distance sad.

Kobra- A Kabal killer. His turtling kills Kabal very bad and there isnt much you can do except pray you can get to him lol. You are probobly thinking why kobra is a weekness with turtling to kabal and why dairou isn't? Its because Kobra has low fireballs as well and his teleport has a punch to it plus his flaming fist is sweet too.

Dairius- Anyone that can turtle kills him pretty good. He is the 50/50 in the game and is all offensive basically so just turtle it out. Use speed dash and plants to advantage when time is right.

Kira- Fast but not so powerful. Just play a 50/50 battle out and since kabal is stronger, He should have the victory over her. Wepon stance kills her because of how confusing the moves can look tongue.

Lui Kang- One of the fastest characters in the game. He has a nice turtle and his offense is nuts. Whore speed dash on him and pull out the 60%+ combos and you will be fine lol wow. Sometimes nomad's touch can be pulled off alot suprisingly.

What is Kabal good for?
--------------------------------------

1st of all Kabal is known to be one of the strongest offensive players in the game. Just U+2 in the wepon stance is probobly the best 50/50 move in the entire game of MKD. His speed dash is so fast and is an insane combo starter. His other two special moves the nomad's touch and his plasma beam thing are good to turtle with all the time. His fighting stances have plenty of nice pop-up attacks and beautiful plant moves to mix everything up nicely.

He is also popular for his 60%+ combos in the game. Just start off in 1st stance and do this combo. U+3,cs,cs,114,cs,cs,11cs14cs and it does an easy 75% and when they have their wepons out it does a deadly 85%. He has about 3 nice low hits in the wepon stance (U+3,D+4,B+3) but the sad thing is, he doesnt really have any nice low hits in his fighting stances except for the two hit combo in his 1st stance 1,B+3.

When it comes to his pop-ups he has sooooo many it is hard to cound them. 1st stance (1,3) (U+3) (1,1,U+3)
2nd stance (1,2) (2)
Wepon (2,1,4) (1,1,B+2) (B+2)

Some nice little mixup moves he has in his stances.
1st stance (3,3,3) (1,B+3)
2nd stance (F+2,4) (1,4) (1,1,cs,1,4,cs) (1,1,cs,1,B+1)
Wepon (1,1,4,cs) (2,1,4,114,114cs=51%)

The weakness of Kabal
------------------------------------
Kabal has a terrible throw and it is a shame because he could be in the top 5 tiers if he only had a better throw. Since his defense is not so powerful he is weakened against characters with a really strong offensive like his (Raiden,Mileena,Jade,Bo etc.).

When you mess up on a move during your 50/50 if your trying to pull one off, you will basically be destroyed most of the time unless you can pull off a good recovery. Some characters have a nice resistance against his offense and all he can really do on defense is turtle,turtle, and of course... turtle lol.


Advice to beginners starting with Kabal (noobs)

Don't try to practice with is huge combos until you get his pop-ups, plants, and his straight out 50/50 100% perfected. His combos are very important but, his 50/50 and straight out offense is much more important because of the fact kabal can deal just as much with doing U+2 in uepon 10+ times in 1 match tongue.

You can start out using his throw but, you might want to try to lay off of it since it sucks so bad hahaha. it may do 16% but if you are playing dairou,kobra,raiden, or anybody like that is sadly gives them a higher advantage over you so instead of taking off a mere 16% just worry about kicking their asses with big combos and stright tactics that are meant for him. smile

Vol.2 of Kabal for Dummies (Yay)


Chapter 1-What can 50/50's do for you?
------------------------------------------------------
Well anyone can tell you 50/50 is one of the most important parts of the whole game. It's is all bout fast fingers and how you can trick your opponent into falling for your sneaky attacks and moves.

Kabal is known to be sneaky like that. Lets see some of his cool short, sweet combos and hits that show you that 50/50 can kick some serious rear!

1st stance B+2
---------------------
Good nice little move but the recovery time isnt the best so you might not want to use it on ground because when it is blocked=sad If you want to lauch them off in the 1st stance to pull this move off you should use u+3 or 1,3 and even 1,1,u+3.

1st stance B+1
-----------------------
This move is plenty safe to use on of the ground because it is no good for otg combos. It will just hit your opponent on the ground giving u the chance for some sweet hits to show off. also if it is blocked you can even backstep and make it a spin bufferwink.

1st stance D+1
----------------------
Seems like a crappy low poke ehhh? Well it is kabals best spin buffer in the entire game so you should use it to your advantage. Isn't supper special though lol tongue

There are more but those are basically the most important.

2nd stance D+1
-------------------------
One of his best pokes, or you couldsay low hits. Use it alot because its recovery time is pretty effin sweet. Love the poke.

2nd stance F+2
------------------------
The move where Kabal basically headbutts your opponent on to the ground. MANY people and i repeat MANY people will fall for the move all the time. If you jump over them when they fall it does cause a free throw thoughsmile

2nd stance F+2,4
-------------------------
A nice little combo that can be pulled off nicely. When your opponent doesnt have any breakers it is very nice to pull off because of the fact it is a 3 hit and like 28% dmg combo.

Ok time for weponssmile

3rd stance U+2
---------------------------
This may be the best 50/50 move in all of mkd. Basically anybody u play will fall for it at least a few times. It does like 19%, perfectly safe, leads to beautiful mixups, and can do much more. Learn to fall in love with this move because it can do many things for you with Kabal.

3rd stance D+4
-----------------------
A very weak but VERy quick low hit to soften up your opponent and when u are in a tight game it can sometimes pull off the victory for you.

3rd stance U+3
------------------------
A sidestep trip that does around 8%. Nice to use when u know your opponent can fall for little tricks like that. Don't whore it because after you do it for a while it will become useless.

Other nice moves for a 50/50 game (not for big combos)

Well that is Kabal's 50/50 game for you. It is basically just offense with little defense involved. Learn to use all these moves when you need to at the exact right times or you will get fried.sad
