There have been theories regarding different characters around the boards over the last few weeks, but I don't believe anyone really stopped to question how Armageddon actually came about. So, I will present here the first of many theories to come from myself.

If we look back at MKD, Tanya was the sole person who could obtain the information Onaga needed to fuse the Kamidogou. She went about her task not so willingly and in her ending we see that she has obtained the information and hands gives it to Onaga before she betrays him and kills him.

Now lets consider that she did obtain the information. We know that she has wanted power and this is her chance to grasp it. Many wrote off her ending as it was never going to happen. But what if it did?

Tanya gets the information, slays Onaga and becomes the One Being herself through the Kamidogou fusion. In turn, Onaga's soul could go to it's original body (possible design for an alt oufit) and somehow, Reptile is reborn or restored. This is all unlikely, but a possibility.

Or, we could have it happen this way. Tanya obtains the information for Onaga, only she does not give it to him. Instead, she uses her recently obtained special move, Find Me (invisbility), to allow herself to sneak into Onaga's chamber where the Kamidogou are. Whilst in there all alone, she uses the information she has to fuse the Kamidogou and obtain the power she has craved for so long.

We gain Tanya, Empress of the Universe aka the One Being reincarnated and her ending happens in another way. Armageddon can happen from here and we see everyone come together to defeat our first female boss character. I know many wanted a female boss for a change and this is our final chance this era. I'd love to see how Jade would react to this event if it ever did happen!

Yes, it's highly unlikely, but it'd be a wonderful twist, especially as so many wrote her ending off so quickly. Tanya deserves a chance at a better storyline and this could be it.

I can't wait to see replies from people like Keith and especially Vampyre! Lol!

I think Blaze is a good enough final boss. Tanya aint shit... no offense to the girl that played her though. She's fine, but she's also somebody's wife.

oh god that is quite OUT THERE as far as odd MK storylines go

But admitteddly possible.

I dont think it would happen, although if it did do, Jade would surely have to become a bigger hero than she already is.
Also Tanya supposedly doesnt have enough fans for something that makor to happen to her.
I suppose its not dependent on fans i know, BUT there surely would be some outcry about it.

I would however like to see a female end boss in the next gen. Like some scantily clad crazy dark sorceress.

I don't see anyone receiving so much storyline building at this point. Even the people who are considering Blaze will be this game's final boss will have to hope that MK Unchained builds on his character enough for that to be true.

However, in the case of Tanya I feel the time is pretty much over. This will be the end of much of the MK cast's stories and since Tanya is relatively not very popular among the MK fanbase she most surely will meet her demise in this game. I feel it's far too much of a twist at this point in the storyline, where things are being wrapped up rather than more things being unwrapped.

that story is a little fantasic isn't it.
yeah it's a possibility but i seriously don't think it's happening, her story for the two games she's been in is "i hate jade" and "i'm about to betray whoever i'm working for and join someone else".
i don't think anyone's going to change that about her.

Actually, I could see Tanya trying to take the fused Kamidogus for herself alone... it's a possibole twist. But first, I doubt Onaga would be fooled so easily. She couldn't have killed him. And second, I bet Tanya's story will revolve around Jade more than Onaga.

^^You said exactyl what I was thinking. But I just had a concept for Tanya in my head, imagine if she fused the Kamidogu and became so evil that she turned black with less hair (bald spots), I feel that she really prided herself on her beauty even though it isn't mentioned, she just came off as vain. I feel however though her story will revolve around Jade and Rain.
May Tanya die a horrible death....

But as for her being the boss, there would be Hell to pay if Midway did this.

Anyway, Tanya as a boss? I would be so happy on so many levels. One is that it would piss of so many users here but I'm just being spiteful...hehe...and two, Tanya is one of my top favourite 4 characters. I've loved her since MK4 and I can't wait to see what happens to her in MKA. In her MKD ending it showed that Tanya was nowhere near as naive as Baraka yet still more interested in the Kamidogu than Mileena, those two being Onaga's lead lackies.

She knew that once Onaga had the Kamidogu her life was over and so went one step further than just stop him. She risked everything including her own life for power. Onaga might not have been that easily fooled but even if you were a 12 foot tall dragon man and was just handed the greatest weapon of all time you would be a little distracted.

Even though MKD dissapointed me in terms of story especially after what MKDA had led up to, I was happy to see more plausable endings while still being non-canon. Characters that would not have the power to defeat Onaga by force use their heads and kill him in believable ways (Tanya, Sindel)

I would love to see Tanya as the boss or sub-boss but knowing that that won't happen (Boon said it himself, she's tiny) I would still like to see her story in MKA retain elements of her MKD ending. I also don't want anything from Jade's. I don't want Tanya scarred. I don't really like the glass orb idea and I certainly don't like the idea of Jade becoming another one of those vengeful bitches in MK. Jade is one of the very few characters in the game I see as completely pure and I don't see her accepting Tanya as a formidable opponent, more of an arrogant child.

I honestly wouldn't like that idea at all, Tanya is just about my least favorite character.

I really don’t see how they could evolve her to look remotely boss like. And if they kept her current “female robin” look as I call it, it would be so boring and unchallenging. And especially not in a game as important as finishing the majority of the characters off people have known for over a decade.

But still, nice theory. I like how you’re thinking outside the box.

As much I think would be an amazingly cool twist for Tanya, i would prefair it if she revolved around Rain and Jade in this game, her MKD ending made me feel cheated, as it was an ending that would probably never happen, but you never know!

ummm i dont think tnya would realy make a good boss...maybe if sumthing happens with his story i would say dark raiden would be a good boss wouldent u think so???...but not tanya i just couldent see that, but im sure sum other people can.

I think it would be great having Tanya as boss. It would be the best thing to happen to the series. Because at the moment, the MK storyline is in desparate need of a little twist, something different and interesting to liven it up. It's too dried out and stale as it is.

Who cares if she is 'tiny'? Why do all MK bossess have to be run of the mill big, fat, bulky, dumb, dragonish, cheesy males? Tanya would be a great boss if done in the right way with the right effects. Female bosses have been done before, with Tekken Tag and 'Unknown'.

With Tanya's history in magic, and with the kamigodua-lala, her power could be unmatched. How about making her move her arena at will, slowing down and distorting time, hurling things at you, surrounded by a powerful aura making her look formidable and deranged?

It would be an opportunity for some creativeness, something a little different with more strategy that just kicking the hell out of some muscled monster. And also completing her story arc that so many people want. It would be the ultimate act of betrayal and no coming back for her.

well if there desperate and need a twist then dark raiden being a boss would be a realy good twist since he is the prtecter of earth realm...eather that are blaze...since not much is nown about him.

All true. On the other hand though, Tanya's character has always been three things above all else: Cunning, Deceptive and very self-preserving... They did say that not all characters would be killed off. And of all the characters we've been introduced to over the years; Tanya is definitely one of the top five (story wise) For escaping death and working certain angles to her advantage. Popularity aside, I think she has a good chance of surviving Armageddon. She propably won't ever appear in another game...however I don't think it's a sure bet she'll die. Ty's possiblities are unlikely, but could easily happen.

I think they're great ideas Ty, and it would definitely be something different. Nice thread.

I really like your idea Tgrant and i think that a lot of creativity was put into that story :). But sadly i disagree Tanya is a unpopular character and i think people would be annoyed or put off when they see Shao Kahn right under Tanya on the ladder.But i like the idea of having a first female boss in Mortal kombat wink
